They spent the afternoon wandering through the streets.
They stopped to examine displays in shop windows and sample food from various vendors.
"Try this," Hailey said, holding up a small paper cup filled with some kind of local delicacy.
Eric eyed it suspiciously.
"What is it?" he asked, leaning back slightly.
"I have no idea," Hailey admitted cheerfully. "But the lady said it's a local specialty."
"That's not reassuring," Eric said, staring at the mysterious food.
"Come on, live a little!" Hailey encouraged, pushing the cup toward him.
"What if it's poisonous?" Eric asked.
"Then we'll die together," Hailey said dramatically.
"That's not comforting," Eric said, but he took the cup anyway.
He took a cautious taste, chewing slowly. His expression changed from suspicion to surprise.
"Actually, that's not bad," he admitted.
"See? Sometimes you have to trust the process," Hailey said smugly.
"Or trust you," Eric corrected.
"Same thing," Hailey smiled.
