Scene setting
2-bedroom apartment, Brooklyn | 12 AM
Saturday.
The apartment was in full swing of madness. Bobbi hunched over the kitchen, looking over bills while nursing a Chai tea like a cold beer on a crappy day(everyday). Jane and Faith were in a full-on argument.
"Baby Red. Why are you so mad ?" She teased, giddy with her response.
"You know exactly what you did!" Faith pointed accusingly. "You... and him–"
"Yes, Bo and kissed like lost lovers under the tower shelves of books older than ur sweater Red."
"Oh my gosh– do you have to make it sound poetic?" She questioned.
"So you want me to tell you we tongue-f*cked while the librarian was reading Harry Potter?" The silence was deafening.
"You're genuinely not a sane person."
"That's the same thing my high school Principal told me after I used the dissected frog as a puppet. Good times." She reminisced.
"Bobbi, how are you even friends with her?" Faith asked, genuine concern in her voice.
" I ask myself that question every day. " Bobbi replied, sipping her tea.
Jane got off her seat, hands on her hips as she had her devilish smirk." Oh–come on. What are the White sisters without their favourite goth?"
"A functioning household. " Bobbi responded, the jab quick and precise.
"Ahhhh–my dark heart feels pain." She dramatically acted as she held her chest in pain.
"Like seriously Jane. Can't you take anything seriously?"
"Red, you're sounding like my mother so let's not go there and focus on how we're going to share Bo's time equally.
"W–what do you–"
"Jane, whatever ur insinuating don't even put me in ur fantasies." Bobbi interrupted, her no-nonsense tone at full volume.
"So we're going to act like Red isn't basically dreaming of marriage with him, you are in denial of ur attraction Bobbi and I have accepted that his my mortal companion. She added, "OK...who wants Thursdays with him? I already booked Fridays for novel reading and neck bites."
"Knock, knock." The sound disrupted the moment as the Redheads could have a moment of relief from Jane's daily psyche episodes.
Opening the door, Bobbi was greeted by the sight of their neighbour Todd. An average dude, with a constant yellow stain on her shirt, hair greased by his sweat, and standing like a wobbling penguin.
"Uhmm...Hi Bobbi." He awkwardly greeted." D–Do you mind keeping the noise down, I'm trying to watch a ball game, my bet relies on the pitcher getting a clean plate.
"Is that Toddd?" Jane asked excitedly if her favourite show was airing. "Todd...I see the love of painting your shirts in mustard sauce is still present ." She quipped.
"Is that a compliment or one of ur jokes?" He asked, confused.
"Both." She replied as a giggle escaped her lips.
"Uhh–"
"Todd, don't fall for it!" Faith called out as she came in charging at the door.
"Rrraahhhh!" Faith roared, throwing her arms at Jane. The movement was painfully slow as Jane easily side-stepped her charger, wrapping her arms around her waist and with surprising strength, she threw her like a rag doll.
"Eep!" Faith gasped as she found herself pinned by the couch as Jane sat on her, fully at her mercy." Jane! Please don't do the weird biting thing " she pleaded as her body quivered like a pig at a slaughterhouse.
Jane just grinned over her, watching her prey as she showed her canines, reflected by the light as she leaned closer to Faith's neck.
"Noooooo–I don't want dried saliva on my jacket." Faith dramatically whined.
Todd could only watch in horror and intrigue at the display. Bobbi clocking his stare, slammed the door in his face with a swift bang!
"Hold still Red."
"No, you weirdo !"
Bobbi sighed, as she felt another headache approaching. " Can you act like adults for once in ur lives?"
"No." They simultaneously responded before returning to the high- jinks.
"Knock, knock."
"Todd! Didn't you get the f*cking memo you –"
"Hi Bobbi. " a familiar voice sang out.
"H–how do you know where I live?"
"I've dropped Faith over, remember?" Bo responded.
"I know that, but how did you find my apartment number?"
" I was called over for my services." He retorted.
Before you could press any further a blur of movement passed her, crashing into him.
"Boooo!" Jane shouted in his chest, clinging to him like a barnacle. "I missed you mortal~🖤
"Jane, you called my work phone for a hug?"
"Hey!" She softly punched his chest, You're here to serve my need of human affection."
Faith not wanting to be left out, pressed herself to his back, arms wrapped around his waist in a death grip. Glaring at Jane with newfound intensity.
Bobbi stood there, watching her loved ones fold for a man who dressed like a GQ model and smelled like sandalwood.
