"Did you really bring this amount of people to ask me to join your community? I don't judge but I also don't partake." The pot bellied man smiled outwardly, but he thought in his mind 'I knew they would bring more trouble, you were the one that told me to talk about them picking soap. Now see what you've caused'. The cat on his neck rolled his eyes.
Jing Tu immediately gave them a strange look, then took a step back even though he was far away from them.
The entire Pang family's face darkened as they stared at Pang Ling's friend's face. Pang Ling's friend quickly tried to explain, he gave a recount of what happened the day before. Again he tried to twist it to pin all the blame on the pot bellied man, but the cold stare from Pang De made him correct himself.
Pang De wanted him to give the true account because, if he got his revenge through shady means and Zhao Dijun found out about it, Pang De would be in real trouble –especially since it was someone connected to Jing Tu.
"What!, your son attacked first and got injured. If your son's strike had been successful and he killed this pot bellied man here, would you have called me here to fight for justice for you?" Jing Tu shouted, but internally he was delighted. Even at the peak Grandmaster-realm, he couldn't cause that much damage to a spirit realm cultivator with one strike. This meant the fat man had to be at least Heavenly Origin realm. Even though he already guessed that this was the case, he couldn't help being happy.
When everybody heard what he said, they exchanged looks to confirm what they were hearing. How can a Commander of the Azure guards be so shameless. He was the one that used his position to satisfy his curiosity, now he claimed they called him to fight for justice. Jing Tu kept the same expression –truly shameless.
This got Pang De more vexed, he had thought when they got here, they would capture the fat man, drag him back to the Pang estate, torture him till he begged for death before finally killing him.
"Jing Tu, know your place, I'm only tolerating you because of Zhao Dijun. If you block me again, I will take it as the entire Azure guard is going against my Pang family." Pang De said.
Jing Tu's face immediately hardened, it was not because the Pang Family could do anything to him or anyone in the Azure guards. In fact, they were nothing more than ants in the face of the Azure guards, but ants still had their uses. It would be a problem if they broke off their alliance with the Azure guards, especially if it was caused by him, who was planning on leaving the Azure guards.
While he was deep in thought, he felt a hand on his shoulder. "I know what they want, I will just politely decline their invitation." The fat man said with an innocent smile on his face. This further infuriated the Pang family, but they waited for Jing Tu to leave.
After releasing a deep breath, Jing Tu said "If you say so. Pang De no need to see me out" Jing Tu snorted, he turned back to the road he came. He also wanted to see how strong the fat man was. If he can not defeat Pang De, then he wasn't qualified to be his master.
"Since you were stalking him, did you happen to know where the girl I was with went?" Jing Tu asked from a distance.
"She entered the tavern across the inn." One of the elders replied, though they were angry at him blatantly calling them stalkers, they still wanted him to leave as soon as possible.
"Senior brothers, I appreciate the gesture of all of you coming out to invite this lowly one to your gathering, but sadly I would have to decline the invitation." The fat man said, cupping his hands to show his sincerity.
"Do you really think this is funny, you still have time to joke after you injured the patriarch's son" an elder snapped, a few of them surrounded him to cut off any escape routes.
"Just surrender and follow us back to the Pang estate to receive your punishment." Another added, causing the fat man to laugh out loud.
"I really want to know what is giving you the courage, is it the old bones hiding at the back?" The pot bellied man said after he stopped laughing.
"You are courting death" The elders roared, they knew who he was talking about. The Grand elder has never been disrespected like this before, even the Patriarch has to treat the Grand elder with respect.
"Boy, you have some skills for you to be able to sense my location. I can't even sense your cultivation base. I have not fought in a while, I hope you will keep this old man entertained." An old voice came from the back of the group, it was the Grand elder of the Pang Family.
All the elders including the patriarch were shocked, they had just brought the Grand elder here as an insurance. Even if he was going to fight, they would first probe the fat man's strength. If they could not defeat him, the Grand elder would act.
Naturally, they were not expecting the Grand elder to act immediately, since they thought they could easily beat the fat man.
"Sadly, I won't be able to keep you entertained for long, you won't be able to stand two strikes." The pot bellied man said indifferently, causing the surrounding elders to be both annoyed and amused. Annoyed at his disrespect to the Grand elder and amused because he did not know how to spell the word 'Die'.
"Grand elder, can you just knock him out so we can take him back to the clan for punishment. I would have said you should destroy his dantian, but a mortal won't be able to survive the punishment he is about to receive." Pang De asked respectfully.
With that, the Grand elder moved. He appeared in front of the fat man the next moment. He was expecting to see shock or panic on the face of his opponent but he still saw the same indifference expression in his clear eyes. He did not take it to heart, he thought he was too fast that the fat man's brain had not yet registered that he was at his front.
He was a little disappointed as he was expecting to at least exchange a few moves with the fat man, but it seems like his opponent couldn't even take one of his moves. He punched towards his abdomen with as little energy as he could muster, so as not to mistakenly kill him. The punch landed but contrary to his expectations, of the fat man flying away vomiting blood before passing out, there was just a little ripple in his pot belly.
Completely ignoring the Grand elder, he looked at the elders in the distance and asked with a mocking smile "Really, is this all your Grand elder can do?."
That enraged the Grand elder, he threw another punch towards the fat man's face with his full strength –no longer caring if he died on the spot. The punch almost broke the sound barrier, the air tightened around his fist, his fist was caught before it landed.
Everyone took deep breaths, it was just too shocking. Even Jing Tu, standing down the road, whose fear before leaving had been that the Pang Family Grand elder would appear, was perplexed. He didn't have any hope of the fat man defeating the Pang Family Grand elder. At best, he thought they would exchange a few blows before the Grand elder dominates and beats him up. In fact, one of the reasons he stayed behind was to intervene if things got too serious.
But his shock was not as much as Pang De's, he had thought that there were only two people that were sure to be able to defeat the Grand elder in the entire Azure Alliance.
'He is a Heavenly Core realm expert' this was the only thing in everyone's mind. The Grand elder, a peak heavenly origin expert's fist was held with practiced ease.
Boom
The fat man lazily raised his leg and gently kicked the Grand elder's stomach, but it was enough to send him flying. Whether he was alive or dead was unknown.
The group inhaled sharply again, they were next. Some of them started cursing their luck for deciding to come with the Patriarch.
They knew they were screwed, the strongest among them was the Patriarch, in the early stage of the Heavenly Origin realm. They had two other initial stage Heavenly Origin realm cultivators, but even if they all worked together, what can they do to the person that defeated the Grand elder in one move.
The fat man finally moved, so fast that none of them saw him. He just flashed and appeared at the front of the Patriarch, holding his neck. He asked "Were you not the one that wanted to take me back to your estate to punish me?"
He did not give him a chance to answer, he squeezed his neck.
Jing Tu quickly came back to pacify him "Senior, please don't be angry. They don't know what they are doing. Killing him will lead to chaos in the Azure Alliance."
The elders, who had taken multiple steps back, were delighted that Jing Tu had not left.
" Why are you still here? What you say is true though, killing you will attract some unwanted attention." The fat man responded, everyone thought he was talking about the Grand commander. They were happy to hold unto Jing Tu's thigh since he was specially regarded by the Grand commander. They thought as long as Jing Tu was here, the fat man could not kill them.
He continued, "I c
an't just let him go like that."
Jing Tu said, "There is nothing to be done."
