["Ordinary Person": What did y'all get from the mission?]
["Nerdy Raijin": I got something called "Command Seal". And now I can't remove the red mark on the back of my right hand. Can you help?]
["War-Dummy Mutant": A magic wand that I can't use right now.]
["Ramen Topping Wannabe": Mine's more useful than Mr. Ethan. A flying broom! And I can use it as it is.]
["War-Dummy Mutant": Sure, sure.]
["Frozen Flower": I got a Golden Apple. It was a one-time use, but it can give anyone attack absorption for a few hours and regeneration for a few minutes if they eat it.]
Command Seal? Isn't it something you use to control familiar—Servants—in a Holy Grail Wars? It's the only thing I remember have a name 'Command Seal'. It might be possible I'm wrong with my prediction.
["Ordinary Person": Mei, did you get something like a magical familiar? Or something called a 'Magic Circuit'? Or, feel intense pain after receiving the Command Seal?]
["Nerdy Raijin": No? It's just a red mark in my right hand. What is this actually?]
["Ordinary Person": Not really sure myself. I think gloves's enough to hide it.]
["Nerdy Raijin": Okay ….]
["Ordinary Person": No description?]
["Nerdy Raijin": It's just telling me that I can do nothing right now because I need Magic Circuit—a thing you said before.]
Then, it answer my suspicion.
["Ordinary Person": Don't worry. It's still useless for you right now until you have the Magic Circuit]
If I think about it again, I can get Command Seal if I have Magic Circuit's energy sample for my [Source of Blank]. Just if I get access to it, of course.
Alas, this mission gave us—me especially—a productive result. I learned a lot about another group member and what the possible death scenario they'll face in the future.
Ethan's problem cleared, but I can't say surely if Rosemary will thrive the same path as before or not—I'm referring to the DLC, Shadow of Rose. But it's still far in the future, further than Yahiko's death flag.
If I calculate it based on the main scenario of the fictional world 'I' have seen before. Then, Kanae will be the next.
The enemy itself is not as worrying as Ethan's but I can't let my guard down against them.
["Ordinary Person": The enemy from Ethan's world now can be summoned at the Training Field. We can use them to train ourselves. From the weakest—the lycanthrope—to the strongest—Miranda—herself.]
["Ramen Topping Wannabe": Ohh, is that so? Then, I want to learn and train more the thing I got from the Beginner Pack.]
It'll be fine. We have stronger enemies than what Kanae will face in the future.
Just like what happened with Ethan before. As long as I'm prepared to face every kind of enemy, we'll be fine. Ethan's wife was saved, Ethan didn't die, and Rosemary was successfully reunited.
Unfortunately, I still can't change the very basis of human's biological nature. Just if I have that power, Ethan and his family will be freed from the mold's curse. There was a possibility Miranda would return one day. Though that would only be a small problem, it's still a problem.
And before the problem goes beyond my strength, I'll train myself within the Training Field.
The best place to procrastinate yourself for eternity.
Of course that's not my goal. My goal is to learn more and be stronger with my magic. My world is still looking fine, but that doesn't mean there's no possibility everything goes down. The supernatural world is always hidden from normal human society. It's possible I don't know, and it suddenly appears right in front of my face as I get out of the Training Field later.
It's possible that the sisters next door and their mother are one of them. It's possible I have relatives working there. Hell, maybe my own grandma is the strongest person there, who knows the possibilities.
'Now, return to my problem ….'
Being a devil gives you a lot of permanent buff, but this emotional—psychopatic personality disorder—problem is giving me a hard time if I'm not looking for the solution soon. But it's not like it'll destroy my life or something. Just a minor inconvenience I think.
If I could tweak my brain, I will be fine, but it's not as simple as said. If I can do that, I'll resolve Winters' family's human-mold hybrid problem already. And it's possible that my problem is not from my brain, but my soul. It's a side-effect of magic after all.
I could make something simpler like a supporting spell that is constantly on, or some kind of Enchantment magic on an item I will use regularly. The spell will constantly deplete my magic like Kakashi's Sharingan. And the enchanted tool is more permanent as long as it's not destroyed.
Since the enchanted tool is better overall in my situation right now, that's what I need to make.
To make enchanted tools, one needs to decide what's the base item.
The best choice I have right now is either a necklace or contact lenses. Not a ring or bracelet, because if my hands ever got cut off, I'll lose it. Not glasses because I can't use them while taking a bath or while sleeping. And contact lenses have the same problem as glasses.
So, I'm going for a necklace. It can be used anytime even when you're inside a bathroom or while sleeping. I'll never need to take it off except if my head's off from my neck. And when that happens, I'll already be dead, probably.
So, a necklace it is.
Then, what I need next is to inscribe the magical characters inside the item with a wand.
["Ordinary Person": Mr. Ethan, can I borrow your wand?]
["War-Dummy Mutant": Sure. You can even have it, it's useless for me right now.]
["Ordinary Person": Is that okay?]
[You get a Magic Wand from "War-Dummy Mutant"]
["War-Dummy Mutant": Of course.]
["Ordinary Person": Thanks.]
What a good person. I'll give it back if he wants later on.
And when all the tool's ready, the inscribing process can be started.
What I write does not directly give me the ability to feel emotions, but rather a guide for my instinct and what I should feel at that time. So, this enchantment will affect my instinct and my humane instinct will tell my brain what kind of emotion and expression I should show right now.
This thing can only work if the user has experience and knowledge about human interaction. Just like how I lived my whole life before, understand when I need to laugh, when I need to be mad, when I need to be sad, and even when I need to be afraid.
Simply a guide to make me a better actor.
Not the best solution, at least it'll help me until I can resolve the core of my problem.
Now let's test it in the real world.
The world warped as I returned to my room. To test it, I just need to see my grandma.
Human's emotions in nature will wave just at the sight of someone they know. Just by seeing that person, it's enough to find out what they actually feel to others. Like what I will feel when I see my mom, or the sisters next door, and my grandma.
"Oh, Kiriya. Is there anything you need, son?" Grandma asked me, yet she's not stopping her busy self from working at the kitchen, the traditional kitchen of hers. "Do you want some onigiri? I filled it with umeboshi1." Even then, she offered some food for me.
"Thanks grandma." I give her a smile and take one.
The more I look, the more I realize she's already so old, almost hit her 75, and my parents will soon follow her up to that state, not that fast, but soon. I'm already an adult now and that means my time with them will be less than what we used to.
Once again, I remembered the feeling of growing up. Have I done enough for myself? For my Previous Self, it's enough. But, what about my Current Self? Have I done enough?
"Eat a lot okay, young men like you need a lot of strength. If you don't have strength, how can you impress girls and make the sisters fall for you?"
I chuckled lightly to her teasing. "You're teasing me grandma. How can I make two sisters fall for me at once?"
The item works better than what I thought. It even gave me a sense of nostalgia and made me ponder my own life. I can react to her jokes well enough, and I can laugh as I want to.
If before using the necklace I'm akin to a psychopath, now, I'm similar to an actor.
After talking about random things for a few more minutes with her, I left the house, concealed myself with an invisibility spell and teleported to the top of the temple roof.
The same temple where I got invited by the Group Chat.
The sun was just shining so brilliantly on top of my head, yet due to the temperature-controlling spell, I could keep myself cool. The sight of the rural town is so breathtaking, with people working on the fields, children playing, and even some local teenagers going on a secret date.
Gate—is a spell to call a door to connect it from one and another by folding space from two places. I've memorized some places in Ethan's world, the village and the city he lived in after Miranda's incident.
Unfortunately, in this world there were no places identical to that village from Ethan's world. The city is present, of course, because it's a known city. I've tried it with Gate spell and got no luck. Even when I try to jump through the world, the spell's not working.
However, that didn't matter actually. I'm just trying and experimenting. Nothing fancy.
[You have entered the Training Field. Your time will be accelerated.]
Magic, just how convenient it was.
I could go anywhere.
America? Just fly there.
Sahara? Don't forget to manipulate temperature and air.
The moon? As long as I keep casting air for myself and block cosmic radiation, that is enough.
I will not hold myself up to make more and more powerful spells. Even though I couldn't feel it, I know, I'm excited to make something new with it.
"There are many abilities from every fiction I've ever seen, but for now, I'll create this one—"
That honored guy.
I've done the homework for spatial concepts through my Gate spell and Instant Teleportation spell.
The idea is similar to instant teleportation, where I compressed or folded space from one point to another. This time, the application was to create compressed space that generated an intense gravitational pull, like a black hole.
Attraction force.
—And with that, one of the Cursed Techniques used by the strongest Sorcerer today was remade.
By increasing the output, I could create a more intense pull akin to the real black hole.
A small black orb appeared and pulled everything toward it—except myself of course. Because I compressed infinite space just like when using teleportation, any enemy or being caught by this spell would have to move at the speed of light to escape.
It'll not see friends or foes, even the caster itself. Where the enemy needs to actually move at the speed of light to escape. But, I can get caught into it if I'm careless.
And in the original world of this technique, its opposite, Repulsion force, was a technique created by turning negative energy into positive to produce a push instead of a pull.
Its application was more difficult there because one needed to convert negative into positive. But for me, this was a minor issue since I wasn't limited by the polar type of my energy. Magical energy was neutral and could be used to create both negative and positive effects in the process.
—And thus, I just created a black orb that pushed everything around it except himself. The distance and output force could be adjusted, just like Attraction.
Now I needed protection.
Space-time distortion. Something to stop the kind of shit Strongest Sorcerer in History will cast in the battle.
Even spatial-based attacks wouldn't be able to cut through this barrier if my calculations were correct.
'Let's try it, then.'
I summoned a training dummy, a glass fragile one, and applied the spatial shield. Without the spatial shield, the dummy is just like a crumbling biscuit.
Now, as the target is ready, I pull out a move to make a KitKat towards the dummy.
World Cleave.
This was the same slash that once cut down a certain sorcerer. But if the dummy remained unaffected, then it would be untouchable.
The slash cut even the ground around the dummy—and the dummy itself.
"I failed. I need to tweak something inside my spell." I said to some viewers who's inside the Training Field the whole time, Yahiko, Kanae, and Ethan. There's Mei too, but she's busy with herself. Learning her magical abilities.
I'm sure she's further than what I am right now. She's the world genius after all. But, that's not the main concern right now.
I summon another dummy and use the same shield. Not to test it again, but to check the flow of space on it.
I used a smaller scale World Cleave, as small as a kitchen knife. Now, I know what was happening.
The shield needs more adjustment so it can disturb the cleave itself. I can't let it be static, I need to make the space moving, so it's like a flowing stream of the river. And if we used that analogy, the World Cleave is the fish.
But, certain fish can beat the stream, like salmon, so I need to make sure even the bear waiting at the side can't even stand there and get pushed too.
And now, it's working and better than before.
This time, the result was success.
"I need to study the concept of time now," I needed absolute power capable of withstanding space and time-based attacks.
Though already strong enough, my spatial distortion wasn't yet sufficient to stop time manipulation.
At least the basic concept and its application. If I can do that, I should be able to manipulate time eventually.
The worlds that currently had time manipulation abilities among the fellow group members were Mei and Yahiko. But Yahiko's world was still uncertain. I'm not sure if the movie's location really exists, like the temple where Naruto and Minato met.
For now, it was unnecessary because enemies' not really that hard. Kanae's world didn't really have that much destructive power actually. I could solo them all if I used all of my strength. As long as I'm not get jumped by several demons, I'll be fine.
In Ethan's world… no one could resist spatial-based attacks.
And even at this point, I can easily resolve most of the problems in Yahiko's world if I use all of my power.
And Mei's world… that was an exception. Her world is different in terms of enemy levels. They're not that smart, but some of them could pass the dimensions and seal your power away.
But, to be fair, for now, I was the strongest at the Chat Group right now.
