Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Alpha Corp

"No, now isn't the time to talk! I will be back, but you better not leave this place until I return!"

Blaze picked up another 'elixir' before shooting off into the sky.

A bright light burst occurred in the sky, followed by a loud boom. Timmy weakly looked to the sky, and saw two vague figures flying off into the distance. Before long, they disappeared from his sight.

"Just what is this elixir that's making Blaze react this way?" Timmy fell to his butt, his weak legs unable to support him anymore. It was a miracle in itself that he could stand before Blaze until now.

"Was that guy really that special?" He looked at the craters, remembering Leo.

When he first saw Leo, he was wearing a t-shirt whose color had already faded. Even his room didn't have anything worth paying attention to. The man didn't look impressive.

He looked like a mediocre man who couldn't even afford an expensive delivery service. Even the 'elixirs' that he asked to be delivered, looked like a joke compared to the actual elixirs from brands that came in expensive crystal bottles, costing thousands of credits each.

Timmy had heard a lot about such people that tried to send their mediocre products to famous people beyond their reach, hoping to impress someone. Such people never amounted to anything so he hadn't thought much about it.

"Did I really underestimate him?" he mumbled. "Could he be a misunderstood genius who is beyond my understanding?"

"Ah wait, what am I even thinking about?" His mind suddenly snapped into place. "Don't I have bigger things to worry about?'

His face looked like he was about to cry when he raised his head, looking at the condition of his ship.

Even if it was a rust bucket, it still belonged to that stingy company. Wouldn't they ask him to pay for this?

"Ahhh!" He grabbed his hair, screaming in frustration.

....

Three hours passed in the blink of an eye. Timmy was sitting next to his ship, looking at a small glass slab.

On the glass display, there was a name visible which simply stated, Boss. Under the name, there was a small call icon.

He knew that he had to inform the boss about the crash, and ask for a ride back. But every time he moved his finger an inch closer to the call icon, his finger subconsciously moved back two inches.

After a lot of hesitation, he placed the small glass slab back in his pocket and looked back at the sky with the sun setting in the distance.

"Is Blaze coming back? Nothing could have happened to him, right?"

Before leaving, Blaze told him to not move even an inch from this place. He didn't even try to find a way down this building, scared that Blaze would return. But until now, there was no sign of him.

It even made him wonder if Blaze had actually failed. Was he already dead? Or did he just forget about him? If the choice was between the two, Timmy prayed that it was the latter.

Unfortunately, he soon realized that none of those two options were true. He saw a second sun rising in the sky, shrouded in a golden aura. But as that sun came closer, its silhouette became more clear.

It was a human, shrouded in the golden aura that was no weaker than the sun's rays. The figure landed on the ground before Timmy, the golden aura slowly dispersing.

A lightning flickered around him, and another figure appeared next to Blaze.

"L-Lightning?"

Seeing Blaze was already an impossible task, but he had seen another hero who was ranked in the top five on earth? It was Lightning, whose popularity was only second to Blaze.

Even if Lightning couldn't be called the strongest based on raw strength, his speed was as fast as lightning, making people mistake his abilities with teleportation.

Lightning's figure flickered. He didn't look like he moved even an inch from his place, but there was a bottle in his hand.

It was a bottle with a hand drawn logo, and the name of the brand written with a permanent marker.

"Is this the Elixir that can treat Mana Overload?" Lightning asked Blaze as he opened the bottle, gulping down.

"Ah, an elixir in lemon flavour. It's not often we get an elixir with such flavors."

With just a gulp, everyone could guess the flavor. However, even if it tasted like lemon juice, no one was foolish enough to think that it would actually be that simple.

Wouldn't the entire world have to be foolish if they couldn't even discover that lemon juice had such properties?

Blaze and Lightning simply thought that it was just added flavor to hide the real formula of this elixir from being guessed.

They made it so complicated in their minds that they couldn't even see what was right before their eyes.

"Which Senior made it?" Blaze asked, tossing out a head.

It was only now that Timmy realized that Blaze was holding onto a head. However, that head didn't look like a human's head. It shared some traits but it was different.

Timmy, who was now 99% sure he was in a nightmare. His future depended on his answer. If he made a mistake, wouldn't it be his head next time?

He fumbled for the cracked holographic projector on his wrist. His hands were shaking so badly it took three tries to open the delivery manifest.

"Uh... L-L-Leo, sir!" he weakly said, stuttering. "From Alpha Corp!"

He held out the projector, showing Blaze the delivery details. The S-Rank Hero didn't even glance at it. He was already talking into his comms.

"This is Blaze! Get me Guild Intelligence, now!" he roared, his voice traveling through every channel that could only be accessed by high ranking members.

"I want every file you have on a man named Leo from Alpha Corp! Find everything about him! NOW!"
