"Nia isn't old enough yet," Herb said softly to comfort her. "Hogwarts will send you an admission letter by owl before your twelfth birthday, and then you can go to the magic school."
"Do I look like an idiot to you?" Nia pouted unhappily. "I know I don't have magic talent; Albert already knew that."
"How could that be?" Herb said gently.
"Why couldn't it be?" Nia recounted what had happened during the summer.
The Ministry of Magic's letter to Truman stated the reason for his expulsion: using a Levitation Charm in a Muggle community in front of a Muggle.
"At that time, there were only three of us in the park. Truman is a wizard, Albert is also a wizard, so the Muggle in the letter naturally refers to me." As soon as she finished speaking, Nia burst into tears.
Daisy sighed softly. She already knew about this; Albert had mentioned the possibility to her before leaving for Hogwarts. She just hadn't expected Nia to figure it out herself.
Daisy held her daughter in her arms, gently stroked her back, and softly comforted her. "It's alright, Nia, cry if you need to."
"Nia, you need to know, wizards have their fun, but Muggles also have their own. For example, the wizarding world doesn't have television, or the anime and movies you like, and before going to school, you might not even have many friends." Luke spoke calmly. "It's actually quite good not to stay in the wizarding world—at least that's what Grandpa thinks."
"But…" Nia's voice was choked, "But I want to go to Hogwarts."
Tom also seemed to sense Nia's bad mood. He jumped into her arms and rubbed his head against her clothes.
"Although it's a pity not to be able to go to Hogwarts, I don't regret being a Muggle. The Muggle world is just as wonderful." Luke stroked Nia's hair and said, "Alright, don't cry anymore. Have a piece of chocolate; you're going to cry into a big calico cat."
"Nia, don't you want to see what gift Albert bought you?" Herb picked up the box of Animal Voice Candy and shook it by his ear.
"Nia can also experience the fun of the wizarding world now, can't she?" Daisy comforted. "Do you want to try? Albert mentioned in his letter that eating this candy allows you to make the sounds of other animals."
"If Nia doesn't eat it, then I will." Herb opened the box, threw a candy into his mouth, chewed it, and then opened his mouth to let out a lion's roar.
"Meow!"
Tom, startled, jumped off Nia and burrowed under the sofa, refusing to come out.
After a moment of silence, everyone in the living room simultaneously looked at Herb, who let out another lion's roar.
Herb quickly covered his mouth with his hand, awkwardly pointing to the box of Animal Voice Candy.
"I want some too." Nia's attention was immediately diverted, and she reached out to Herb.
"Nia, Albert said that these things cannot be taken out and shown to others." Daisy did not forget to warn her. "The wizarding world requires strict secrecy, not allowing ordinary people to know of its existence."
"I know!" Nia pulled out a handkerchief to wipe the tears from her cheeks, ate an Animal Voice Candy, and her small face instantly turned red, with steam even coming out of her ears.
"Don't we know?" Herb asked in confusion.
Daisy explained, "Muggle family members of Muggle-born wizards are allowed to know about the wizarding world, but they must keep it strictly secret."
"How would you know? Was it written in Albert's letter?"
"Not that one, this one." Daisy handed another folded letter to her husband. This letter was addressed to them and Nia.
Herb looked up at Luke and said, "Dad, you should look too. Albert should have written to you as well."
"The letter is here." Sansa took a parchment from the bottom of the box, opened it, looked at it, and then handed it to Luke.
"What did Albert's letter say?" Nia asked.
"He told you to take good care of Tom, to give him the right amount of food every day so the cat doesn't get too fat. Also, when you go to school, make more friends and don't let anyone bully you." Herb closed the letter, looked up, and noticed Luke's unusual expression. "Dad, what's wrong?" he asked softly.
"Nothing!" Luke sighed quietly.
Sansa had read the contents of the letter. At the end, a man named Filch was mentioned. He worked as caretaker at Hogwarts and was a Squib.
It was not difficult for Luke to see from the letter that Mr. Filch's life at Hogwarts was not happy.
How could a man who constantly opposed students, sought to find trouble, and was often angered by mischievous children be happy?
Filch could only be accompanied by his cat, could only use a mop to clean stains, and lived every day surrounded by young wizards, watching others use magic while he could not.
Luke truly couldn't think of a reason for Filch to be happy.
For a magic school like Hogwarts, Filch was dispensable; any wizard who understood magic would surely do better than him.
Luke did not sympathize with Filch, because that was his choice. Filch was undoubtedly lucky that the Headmaster of Hogwarts took him in. Otherwise, Squibs—ignored by the wizarding world—could hardly find any work.
No wizard would employ a useless person.
To this day, Luke still believed that if one was a Squib, it was perfectly fine to live quietly in the Muggle world, learn some Muggle skills, and be a competent Muggle.
Why stay in the wizarding world and be a Squib disliked by everyone?
Although Luke knew that what those people did might be right, he had never forgiven them and had completely cut ties.
Compared to Filch, Luke felt even luckier. He had his own family, his daughter-in-law, and two lovely grandchildren.
His life was happy and fulfilling.
Looking at the photo of six people plus one cat, a faint smile appeared on Luke's face.
"Grandpa Luke, what are you smiling about?" Nia asked curiously.
"Grandpa feels very lucky!" Luke folded the letter and said with a chuckle, "Come, I'll blow bubbles for you."
In the box, Albert had also put a packet of Super Bubble Gum for the old man.
"Albert didn't even prepare anything for me."
"This was actually prepared for Nia." Luke was beaming. He understood why Albert had sent him the Super Bubble Gum.
Luke handed the gum to Nia, and also unwrapped one for himself. He put it in his mouth, chewed slowly, and then blew a string of bluebell-colored bubbles. The bubbles floated in the living room and wouldn't pop even if they touched an object.
Nia also learned to blow bubbles, her face full of smiles. She seemed to have forgotten that she had just been sad about not being able to go to Hogwarts.
