After the Gate of Justice opened, ten top-tier warships filed through, creating a stunning visual display.
Spandam stumbled across the Bridge of Hesitation, loudly hailing the Navy.
"I am CP9 Commander Spandam! Quickly, let me board a ship!"
A small landing boat swiftly approached, taking Spandam aboard a warship. Once on the ship, Spandam immediately began yelling.
"Quickly, give me a Transponder Snail! I need to report the situation to the World Government!"
His imperious manner made Onigumo frown, but he still had a crew member fetch a Transponder Snail.
Spandam first contacted his father, Spandine. His father currently held a high position within the World Government, and Spandam needed him to speak on his behalf regarding the Enies Lobby Incident. After the two men consulted conspiratorially, Spandam then dialed the number of his superior.
The moment the Transponder Snail connected, Spandam launched into his performance.
"Sir! Those CP9 agents are all utterly useless trash!"
"First, Lucci leaked the intelligence about our capture of Nico Robin!"
"Then, when Sith Auguro invaded, I ordered them to hold back the intruders to give me time to evacuate the important criminal. But what happens? Those useless agents couldn't even hold out for a few minutes!"
As he spoke, Spandam's eyes became bloodshot, and his scalp began to faintly ache. It was as if a voice was constantly telling him: None of this is your fault. The fault lies with those CP9 useless agents! Everything you did was for the World Government!
According to Auguro's plan, after being hit by the Conqueror's Haki: Soul Blade, Spandam's mind would be traumatized, causing him to become volatile, easily angered, and more paranoid. In this state, to secure his own future, he would not hesitate to make CP9 bear the full responsibility for the Enies Lobby Incident.
Sure enough, to keep his hands clean, Spandam completely sold out CP9. Then, Spandam's voice rose excitedly.
"At the time, I was cornered by the enemy right in front of the Gate of Justice, with no way out."
"But I knew that as the CP9 Commander, I absolutely could not allow these pirates to run rampant in Enies Lobby!"
"CP9 failed, but I still had the Buster Call! So I chose to activate the Buster Call! Even if it meant mutual annihilation, I was determined to wipe out these audacious pirates! Fortunately, fate favored me, and I miraculously survived!"
"However, CP9 leaked intelligence and performed poorly in combat, leading to the fall of Enies Lobby! They must be severely punished!"
Spandam delivered a passionate speech, dumping all the blame onto CP9's head. He portrayed himself as a loyal minister willing to face death.
The World Government official who listened did not immediately respond, saying flatly, "We will conduct a specialized assessment of the specific circumstances of the Enies Lobby Incident. The responsibility for the failures will be determined."
Spandam wasn't flustered at all, instead adopting a completely devoted look.
"Yes, sir! I fully trust the judgment of my superiors!"
Regardless of his father's connections, this Buster Call incident was completely different from the original timeline. In the original timeline, Spandam accidentally triggered the Buster Call, placing all the responsibility on him.
That's why he had to frame CP9 to shift the blame. But this time, he genuinely was under attack, and CP9's poor performance was real. The activation of the Buster Call had a plausible excuse! Therefore, shifting the blame would be much easier this time!
After hanging up the Transponder Snail, Spandam's headache did not lessen at all, but his mind seemed clearer. His eyes were bloodshot.
"No one is going to ruin my future! CP9, you'll obediently take the fall for me!"
No one saw Spandam's eyes becoming increasingly deranged.
On the deck, Onigumo attempted to contact Aokiji with a Transponder Snail. After all, Aokiji was the commander of this Buster Call. However, before the call could connect, Aokiji's figure leaped onto the warship.
"Admiral Aokiji!"
Seeing Aokiji's scorched black arms, Onigumo was startled. He quickly called for medics and asked suspiciously, "What happened to you?"
Aokiji forced a bitter smile.
"I fought with Sith Auguro's subordinate. They are truly formidable opponents!"
Onigumo gasped, asking expectantly, "Then where are they now?"
Captured would be best! Dead would be acceptable!
"They should still be on the island," Aokiji said while receiving medical treatment.
"Neither of us could overcome the other, so they retreated after our clash."
Hearing this, Onigumo immediately said, "Then let's bombard the island quickly! We can't let them escape!"
"Suit yourself!" Aokiji reverted to his usual lazy demeanor, handing over the command to Onigumo.
As for whether Auguro and his crew would be killed by the bombardment? Aokiji stated that while he liked to take naps in the daytime, he wasn't prone to daydreaming!
Onigumo turned, picked up the Transponder Snail, and ordered all the warships, "Enies Lobby target! All ships fire!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!...
Cannonballs rained down on Enies Lobby. Countless buildings collapsed, and the island began to crumble gradually. Wiping the entire area off the map—that was the power of the Buster Call!
"Auguro-sama, what do we do? There are no ships left!" Nami was nearly in tears from anxiety. The harbor had been completely destroyed in the battle between Soi Fon and Aokiji, and now they couldn't find a single usable ship on the entire island!
Auguro looked at the ceaselessly falling cannonballs, his face completely calm.
"If there are no ships, we will leave ourselves!"
"Huh?" Nami didn't understand right away.
Robin, however, brightened instantly.
"Are you talking about that door to the Seireitei?"
Auguro smiled and nodded.
He gently waved his right hand, and two normal-sized door panels appeared before the group. As the doors opened, the Seireitei appeared on the other side.
Since acquiring the Senkaimon (World-Crossing Gate), Auguro never worried about being trapped anywhere. His earlier actions of trying to find a ship were simply to try and conform to life in the One Piece world. But with cannonballs raining down, he certainly wouldn't hold back on his ultimate trump card!
"Let's go!"
Auguro stepped into the Senkaimon first, and the others quickly followed. As the doors closed, there were no longer any living beings on Enies Lobby.
Sky Island, Seireitei
Kuchiki Byakuya personally greeted the returning group.
"Soul King-sama!" Kuchiki Byakuya offered a flawless salute.
Auguro waved his hand.
"How is the construction of Sky Island and Jaya going?"
Kuchiki Byakuya replied, "Very smoothly! With those two thousand convicts, the progress is rapid! We estimate Jaya Island can be opened to the public next week!"
"Good," Auguro nodded, satisfied with Kuchiki Byakuya's work.
He had intended to have Soi Fon and Robin stay in the Seireitei to recover from their injuries while he took Nami and the others back to Water Seven. However, Soi Fon refused.
"I can recuperate anywhere! But Soul King-sama must not be without a guard!"
Soi Fon's stance was resolute.
