Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Swampfire vs. Spinosaurus

Tall and lean, much larger than an ordinary person, his whole body was a vivid grass green. A crown of flame-shaped growths rose from his head, and his shoulders were studded with red, spike-like protrusions. His muscular arms were lined with sharp barbs, radiating deadly strength.

The distinctive Omnitrix emblem sat on his chest—a feature of the Omnitrix Calibrated Edition, which placed the symbol at the same spot for every transformation. Because of that, some aliens found their abilities slightly hindered, as the emblem could block incoming attacks—but that was a matter for later...

"Swampfire!"

Lucian watched his own transformation with deep satisfaction. He pressed his palm downward, flames erupting fiercely from his hand. The burst of power propelled him like a cannonball, shooting through the air at tremendous speed toward the two ancient beasts.

At that moment, the ancient Spinosaurus and Mammoth were rampaging through the city center, leaving ruin wherever they went. Screams, crashes, curses, and children's cries filled the air, blending into a single roar of chaos and fear.

Dozens of police cars had already mobilized, officers firing heavy-caliber weapons at the two rampaging monsters. But even the strongest rounds couldn't pierce the Mammoth's hide—only shallow white marks remained, doing almost nothing to stop them.

Grandpa Max's hair was gray, his teeth clenched as he shielded the two behind him, anxiety twisting in his chest. After escaping the museum, they had planned to lure the beasts toward the outskirts, but the Spinosaurus and Mammoth went berserk, charging instead into the busiest part of the city, killing and destroying everything in sight.

"Grandpa, what should we do?"

Gwen asked, her face pale as she looked toward the terrifying creatures ahead.

Grandpa Max shook his head with a weary sigh. At this point, there was nothing he could do. Without specialized weapons, he had no way to fight such monstrous beings.

"Don't worry! My cousin's out there—he's gonna show those things who's boss!" Ben said firmly.

The moment he finished speaking, a roaring sound swept overhead. All three of them looked up in surprise, then their faces lit with relief.

A grass-green alien streaked across the sky, fire bursting from his palms, cutting through the clouds like a blazing comet. He shot straight toward the two ancient beasts.

Boom—

A thunderous impact shook the ground as Swampfire landed, gouging a deep crater into the street. Dust and debris exploded outward in waves.

"Roar!"

The Spinosaurus was the first to notice him. With a deafening roar, it trampled over the rubble and charged forward, murderous intent pouring off its massive body.

Swampfire sidestepped, swung a sandbag-sized fist, and smashed it hard into the Spinosaurus's skull. The blow only made the beast stagger slightly. Unlike Four Arms, he didn't rely on sheer brute force.

But... strength wasn't Swampfire's specialty.

"ROAR!"

The Spinosaurus's blood-red pupils narrowed as it bared its fangs and lunged, biting down on Swampfire's arm in a flash.

Rip!

In an instant, Swampfire's slender arm was torn clean off. The Spinosaurus flung it aside, sending it crashing into the ruins nearby, scattering debris in all directions.

"Roar!" The Spinosaurus bellowed at Swampfire, as if declaring its dominance.

This scene was witnessed by the gathered crowd.

"Oh my god, that weird alien is done for!"

"Yeah, its arm's been bitten off. I bet the dinosaurs will eat it soon."

"It's over! If even an alien can't defeat these monsters, our city is doomed!"

"Who will save us?!"

Seeing the alien visitor with a severed arm, many onlookers felt despair and unease, already imagining the city's destruction.

"Don't... give up, alien! I believe you can defeat them!" Ben shouted.

Swampfire's lips curved upward slightly. He raised his left hand and snapped his fingers sharply. Tentacles sprouted from the severed stump, rapidly spreading out before connecting to Swampfire's wound.

Under the stunned gazes of the crowd, Swampfire's arm regenerated before their eyes, the wound closing at an incredible speed. Within seconds, his arm was fully restored, not even a scar left behind.

This was Swampfire—possessing not only formidable fire-based powers but also rapid healing. Such a small injury meant nothing to him.

"Alien, you're so awesome! Go beat up those monsters!"

"Alien brother, you're so cool! You can even regrow your hand after it broke..." A fair-skinned Western woman, face flushed, gazed at Swampfire with admiration.

"Alien dude, you're our idol!"

...

The crowd erupted in excitement, cheering wildly with their fists raised high. Hope reignited in their hearts as they shouted for Swampfire.

"Cousin is so awesome! And this new hero looks super strong too," Gwen couldn't help but say in awe.

"Of course! Who else's cousin is he?" Ben stuck out his tongue.

"He's mine!" Gwen retorted irritably.

"He's mine too!" Ben argued back.

"No, my cousin belongs only to me!"

...

Grandpa Max stood nearby, shaking his head helplessly before turning his gaze toward the battlefield's center.

BOOM!

Raising his palm, Swampfire gathered blazing flames that erupted outward. The scorching heat distorted the air as it slammed into the Spinosaurus. Crimson waves of fire, like a roaring dragon, devoured the creature's skin with furious intensity.

"ROAR!!"

The Spinosaurus shrieked in agony, its entire body burning. Instinctively, it stumbled backward, desperate to escape the fire's reach.

With a swift motion, Swampfire swept his arms, conjuring a circular ring of fire that trapped the massive beast inside. He then released a surge of swamp gas, fueling the flames to burn even fiercer.

"Moo!"

A thunderous roar came from the side. Swampfire turned to see a mammoth charging through the blaze. Its long trunk whipped the air as it trampled the ground, shaking the earth with every step, mountains of rubble collapsing under its weight.

"You again, you clumsy beast," Swampfire sneered, aiming his right palm toward the mammoth and releasing a thick burst of swamp gas. "Then taste this move!"

The enraged mammoth, its eyes blood-red, was soon engulfed by the spreading swamp gas. The stench filled the area, forcing the crowd to cover their noses and frown.

Still, no one left. No one wanted to miss such a rare and spectacular monster battle.

Once the mammoth was fully covered in swamp gas, Swampfire flicked a small flame onto its body. Then, with a sharp snap of his fingers—

BOOM!

Thunderous explosions erupted, blinding light shot into the sky, and the mammoth was swallowed by the violent blast. The ground shook endlessly as debris flew in every direction, as if a massive earthquake had struck.

The crowd screamed, covering their ears and trembling, eyes filled with shock and terror.

Such overwhelming power—could a creature like that truly exist?

After a long while, the blinding flames faded, and the deafening explosions gradually subsided...
