She rolled her eyes, but her cheeks warmed anyway."You say that like it's supposed to scare me."
"Does it?"
She shook her head."No… I think I like it."
They walked down the shoreline first, the sand warm beneath their feet, the ocean glittering like scattered diamonds. Elijah watched her every now and then—how the wind pushed her hair back, how she closed her eyes just to feel the breeze.
After a while, Isabella noticed his gaze."What?" she asked, smiling.
"Nothing," he murmured. "Just memorizing you."
