Kiyozawa: "So you hurt your boss's granddaughter."
He states calmly, his expression unreadable as he recalls the lyrics of the song Kaito sang - a clear indication of Overhaul's involvement in harming the Yakuza boss's beloved granddaughter.
Overhaul: "You don't tell anybody, especially my boss!"
He hisses urgently, his face paling at the thought of what could happen if word got out about his involvement.
Overhaul: "I have to figure out a way to repay him. That song... it was a death sentence if anyone finds out."
Kiyozawa: "I'm not judging you."
He replies quietly, his own past deeds weighing heavily on him.
Kiyozawa: "How could I when we both have blood on our hands? I've done horrible things without my boss's knowledge too. The desire to repay him... I understand it all too well."
Overhaul: "I guess this alliance wouldn't be too bad."
He admits grudgingly, surprising himself with the realization that he and Kiyozawa share more similarities than differences.
Overhaul: "At least we understand each other's priorities - loyalty and repaying debts, even if our methods differ."
Kiyozawa's eyes widen in shock as he reads the message from his informant, his heart sinking at the horrifying revelation. Over one hundred lives lost due to his screech... The weight of this information is palpable as he looks up at Overhaul, his expression grave.
Kiyozawa: "Fuck."
Overhaul: "What's wrong?"
He asks sharply, sensing the sudden shift in Kiyozawa's demeanor. His curiosity turns to concern as he watches Kiyozawa's shocked expression.
Kiyozawa runs a hand through his hair frustrated, looking genuinely upset for the first time.
Kiyozawa: "My... my screech. It just killed over a hundred people. Innocent ones."
His voice cracks slightly, unusual emotion showing through his usually masked expression.
Kiyozawa: "And here I am, talking alliances with you..."
Overhaul: "What the fuck..."
He mutters under his breath, taken aback by Kiyozawa's sudden confession and the genuine distress in his eyes. The news of over a hundred innocent lives lost due to his screech is heavy and shocking.
Overhaul: "You didn't know it would happen, right?"
Kiyozawa shakes his head vehemently, despite the memory of Kaito cutting off his mask resurfacing.
Kiyozawa: "No... no, I didn't."
He admits, his voice barely audible as he struggles to come to terms with the innocent lives lost because of his careless actions.
Kanako and Amaya step into the building, their eyes immediately landing on Overhaul and Kiyozawa. They exchange a glance, both feeling an immense sense of relief upon seeing that their respective partners are safe and unharmed. Kanako walks towards Overhaul while Amaya approaches Kiyozawa.
Kiyozawa: "Amaya, I guess our first date is ruined."
He murmurs softly, his voice tinged with regret and a hint of sadness as he realizes that their planned evening together has been completely derailed by the events that have unfolded. His eyes meet hers, conveying his sincere disappointment.
Amaya: "No, it was good."
She says with a soft smile, her eyes shining with warmth and understanding as she reaches out to gently grasp Kiyozawa's hand.
Amaya: "Seeing you safe and sound is all that matters. Our date can wait."
Her gentle touch and reassuring words help to ease some of the tension from Kiyozawa's shoulders.
Kiyozawa's cheeks flush a light pink as he smiles back at Amaya, her kind words and understanding demeanor touching him deeply. He squeezes her hand gently in return, grateful for her presence and support during this trying time. His smile widens slightly, a rare sight of genuine happiness on his usually stern face.
Kanako: "So Overhaul, want to head off somewhere?"
She asks casually, breaking the tender moment between Amaya and Kiyozawa. She turns her attention to Overhaul with a playful smirk, suggesting they leave the intense atmosphere behind for something more lighthearted and private.
Kanako: "Oh, by the way."
She says casually, dropping a bombshell revelation amidst their conversations.
Kanako: "I told my father that we were actually dating."
She watches Overhaul's reaction carefully, knowing this wasn't part of their original agreement but wanting to gauge his reaction nonetheless.
Overhaul frowns slightly, his expression turning thoughtful as he processes Kanako's words. Dating her could indeed be beneficial for the Shie Hassaikai, strengthening his position within the organization and potentially opening up new opportunities. However, he also remembers their original deal and feels a pang of annoyance at the unexpected change.
(Meanwhile in the Human World with Quirks)
Female News Reporter: "Over one hundred people, including heroes, were killed in seconds, and nobody knows who did it. Innocent people and heroes killed by a sudden heart attack and among them is a young upcoming hero named Denki Kaminari."
(Meanwhile at UA Dorm Rooms).
Izuku: "I don't know how this happened..."
His eyes widened in shock, wondering what just happened.
Izuku: "How did Denki die so unexpectedly?"
Bakugo: "How are we supposed to know, Deku?"
He said.
Bakugo: "That loud sound sounded like a bat but also like a person. Maybe some kind of bat villain?"
Todoroki: "Guys, we need to investigate this immediately. What if it happens again and kills someone else?"
He said urgently.
Jiro and the others cried in the background as Bakugo and Deku agreed to investigate immediately.
(At Orb World in the broken building).
Kiyozawa: "S-So Amaya, want to go somewhere else?"
He stammers out, his face turning a deep red as he asks the question. His blush spreads down his neck, giving away his nervousness and excitement at the prospect of spending more time alone with Amaya.
Amaya: "A walk in the park sounds nice."
She says with a sweet smile, her eyes crinkling at the corners. She loves seeing Kiyoawa's rarely display of emotion - the nervous stutter and flushed cheeks. She knows he's not like that usually so reserved and serious.
Kanako: "We could tag along."
She suggests, intertwining her fingers with Overhaul's casually. She notices his slight frown at her revelation about telling her father they were dating but chooses to ignore it for now, focusing instead on creating a group dynamic to make things less awkward.
Overhaul: "Let's go to my world."
He declares confidently.
Overhaul: "I'm pretty sure the parks there are far more beautiful and serene than anything this world has to offer."
He squeezes Kanako's hand slightly, his ego subtly showing through his words. His world is superior, after all.
Kiyozawa: "I'm interested."
He says politely, his curiosity piqued despite his usual reservations. He's seen glimpses of Overhaul's world and knows it's nothing like theirs - more colorful, more magical. He watches as Amaya eagerly agrees, her excitement contagious.
Overhaul: "Alright then, let's get going."
He says decisively, leading the way with Kanako by his side. A opens a portal suddenly even though it's common in Orb World that random portals pop up due to a machine from Middle Corporation gone wrong. The portal reveal a flourish, revealing the vibrant, otherworldly landscape of his realm which is Japan but with quirks. Amaya exchange impressed glances while Kiyozawa wasn't impressed.
Kanako: "Are those people wearing fur costumes?"
She asks, her voice tinged with awe and amusement as she takes in the bizarre yet charming sight.
Overhaul: "Those aren't costumes."
He explains with a smirk, enjoying the surprised looks on his guests' faces.
Overhaul: "They're real people who happen to be animals. It's part of their 'quirk' - everyone here has a unique ability or form."
He sighs since he wasn't proud of it after thinking about it.
Overhaul: "Anyway, I'll show you where the park is."
He says, leading the group through the bustling city. The buildings were normal nothing impressive. As they reach the park, the group is greeted by a breathtaking sight.
Amaya: "It's absolutely beautiful!"
She exclaims, her eyes shining with delight as she takes in the sea of sakura blossoms trees. Kiyozawa watches her with a small smile, happy to see her so enchanted despite his own reserved reaction to the scenery.
Kiyozawa: "Yeah, it is..."
He murmurs non-committally, his gaze drifting over the sakura trees with a hint of indifference. He appreciates nature's beauty but lacks the same emotional response as Amaya. He sticks closer to her side, enjoying her happiness more than the scenery itself.
This will continue in the next chapter.
