"You…please hand me the reward I was promised. I need to get going soon."
Heera told Cane as she extended her hand toward him. Now that her chat was no longer there, she saw no reason to be cheerful in front of Cane.
Cane also did not delay the payment. He took out the offering from his inventory, but before he handed it to her, he decided to give her a choice.
"Do you want this sacred Elixir or the Sword of Holy Light? I have both of them. If you want, I can try and enhance the sword for you and give that to you."
Cane was offering from the goodness of his heart, but Heera had a different opinion compared to him.
Both the elixir and the sword were expensive, but to a magician like her, the sword was only worth selling.
And without crossing level 10+, it would still be less expensive than the elixir.
Besides, the elixir could save her life when the sword could not do the same. So her choice was obvious.
"I will take the elixir. If I am lucky, I might be able to enhance it as well."
Heera told Cane as she grabbed her reward. Cane also handed it over without asking her once more.
They both exited the cave and entered a safe zone. Heera did not stick around for long either.
She took the reward before she left, and Cane opened his stream once more. He wanted to stream the next part to everyone as well.
Once there, Cane took out the Sword of Holy Light from his inventory and started to enhance it.
"As you all might have heard, I was able to defeat Canari and got the sword as my drop. I will try and enhance it now."
Cane told his audience, and they all went wild for it once more.
[Shura: An S-class drop? What is that luck?]
[HaremKingXXX: My streamer do be using luck-enhancing cheats.]
[WinWinWin: Where is the ban message? How have you not gotten banned yet?]
Cane ignored those messages and instead focused on the sword in his hand. He had a good feeling about it.
[Would you like to use 100 ores to upgrade the weapon to level 2?]
The system asked, and he pressed upgrade on the system screen.
[Enchantment completed → Success. Due to modifier Operative, 100X reward guaranteed…calculating new reward…enchantment hit max level +15…due to overflowing exp, new level has been created.]
[Enchantment succeeded. You have obtained the Sword of Holy Light +20.]
[You are the first one to unlock a level +20 weapon. A server-wide announcement will be made.]
[10,000 exp gained. Due to modifier Operative, 100X reward guaranteed…calculating new reward…100,000 exp gained. You have leveled up 20 → 25.]
Cane looked at the sudden onslaught of messages on his screen and suddenly felt his heart skip a beat.
He did think about the possibility that his modifier might work on the sword when he tried to enhance it, but he never expected it to actually work.
Not only that, but because he had only done the enhancement twice, there was a 95% chance for him to succeed.
Did that not mean it was basically guaranteed for him to hit +20 on a weapon every time?
[Bugcontrol: Not Fair!]
[Shura: Not Fair!]
..
..
..
[LoserWinner: How is that even allowed?]
The messages went through his screen faster than he could keep track of them. Cane just sighed as he watched this happen.
He wondered what would happen if he told anyone about what his true abilities were. Their minds would be blown.
"Anyway, that is all for now. I will inform you all about the next stream schedule soon. I hope you have a nice day…"
He told the stream before ending it. Not even seconds later, a new message flashed in front of him.
[Due to recent complaints about your account, it will be under investigation. You might not be able to use certain features. Please do not panic and cooperate with our investigation.]
Cane sighed as he looked at the message. He knew that it was going to happen sooner or later.
But he had not expected the response to be this quick.
From his past experiences of getting banned and being investigated for breaking various games with glitches, Cane had an idea how long he could be under investigation.
So he decided to use his time carefully and wisely—he put the +20 weapon up for auction.
If he was going to go down, then he was not going to go down empty-handed.
As soon as the weapon hit the market, all hell broke loose and everyone lost their minds. The bidding started at 1,000 dollars but within minutes, it went past 50,000 dollars.
It got so insane that the auction shop had to unlist the sword as soon as it crossed the 100,000-dollar barrier.
Not that Cane was worried. The listing had done its job and the idea was out.
The game would either have to increase its market limit to make a profit off that sale, or Cane would just make an underhand deal to exchange the weapon.
No matter what happened, it would be Cane's win.
But while he celebrated this, Reeze Khoi's office had become a mess. Complaints kept piling up as more and more people reported Cane's account and accused him of cheating. Moreover, now he had caused another mess for her.
"Hey, hurry up and check it. Are there any cheats involved?"
She asked her team, now getting annoyed that she had to deal with all this on top of what she was already dealing with.
Her team shook their heads as they looked at her.
"N-No, miss, there are no cheats. Moreover, the system is not detecting anything abnormal. But we also cannot take any action against that account on our end. It's as if the system is protecting him from us."
The workers told her, and Reeze sighed. She turned toward her secretary before she ordered,
"Call for reporters. Right now—"
