After fixing the location of where he was going to do his Additional Skill quest, it was time for Cane to prepare for another stream.
He had kept an eye on the public sentiment and what was being said about him online. Most people called his auction a hoax because it was removed so quickly from the market, but there were many who believed him as well.
And then Genesis, the company behind Clash Online's development and popularization, released a statement.
So many people tagged him in it that he had no questions about what it was.
[Dear Users,
We have recently been getting many requests about User: XXX (Cane's name had been censored) and we have investigated the situation on our end. After much investigation, we have found that no cheats have been used and the account has not been hacked.
The user has just gotten extremely lucky during class selection and there is no need to panic. Clash Online is a game which is ever-evolving, so there are things that even we cannot guess. Please do not report such matters again.
As thankful as we are for your help, any more malicious reports will get your account banned.]
Cane was surprised by the message as well. He had not expected Genesis to take his side, much less be protecting him.
The replies beneath this post were divided.
Many believed that Cane was right, while just as many others wanted him to get "Banned" anyway so that he could start anew and such a situation would never occur again.
Cane was not bothered by this. Since he was the topic of discussion for everyone, he decided to use this opportunity to push himself forward even more.
He quickly posted a notice online to let people know that he was going live, and within minutes, he had over one thousand viewers, with a few hundred joining every few seconds.
It was time to finally start today's session and clear out some questions.
"Welcome, everyone, to today's stream. I see that there are a lot more of you compared to last time. Did you hear the news about the auction item I put up for sale recently?"
Cane asked as he saw his chat explode with hundreds of messages appearing on the screen. He was not able to keep up with any of them. Heck, he could not even read most of them at the speed they were going.
What he did get was that everyone who joined did it in hopes that he would show off his +20 weapon and finally put the whole debate of whether it was real or not to rest.
Cane was not one to disappoint, so he took out the weapon from his inventory.
"Behold the most luck anyone has ever gotten. Here is a +20 Sword of Holy Light."
He held the weapon in his hand as messages started to roll in. Most of them were gasps of denial as they looked at the weapon in his hand, while others were trying to get him to sell the weapon.
And Cane was going to give them what they wanted right here and now.
"Since this is a first, I am going to be generous enough and not put any price on it. I will auction this to anyone who wins the bid tomorrow. The link will be posted on my socials, so keep an eye out."
He told everyone, and people rushed to follow him.
Once this was taken care of, he returned the weapon to his inventory and decided to start the real show for the day.
"Alright, now that this has been taken care of, I will tell you what we will do today. I will be undertaking a quest for an Additional Skill. Yes, you heard that right. I am going to go for an Additional Skill. Why? Because they don't take skill slots."
There were many "achievements" and hidden locations in the game that could only be approached if players had more than a specific number of skills.
But the level cap made approaching these locations annoying.
More skill slots were added every five levels, and Cane still had four skill slots empty. He was going to fill them after he was done acquiring the Additional Skill.
[HaremKingXXX: Additional Skill? Why even bother? Just focus on leveling up.]
[WinWinWin: You are just wasting time at this point. Or do you just want to flex?]
[Shura: Are you going for the 'hidden bonus stages'? Surely they are not as important as leveling up? They don't even provide any exp…]
That was true. These hidden stages did not provide any exp, so most competitive players chose not to do them.
But the rewards from these hidden missions could also prove to be rather useful — something never seen before.
It might even help him exploit the game even more, so he wanted to do these missions. And since his account was glitched, who knew what could happen?
After all, he still had to hatch the "golden ball" he got in his first mission… and technically, it was a hidden mission as well. So maybe the answer to hatching that ball was in another hidden mission.
"I know what you all are thinking. But I do have a plan. As for leveling up, let's just say I am not that worried about it."
Cane told his chat. He was teasing the truth for them as much as he could without outright telling them what he meant.
[ChaosLover69: What does that mean? Tell me what that means—! I will pay you if you tell me.]
[NoLoser: Let it go, man. Our streamer is a scammer. He never tells us anything, so the only thing we can do is wait until he slips up.]
The people beyond the screen were getting too excited, so Cane decided to give them something to be even more excited about.
He walked toward the Valley of Nothingness — a place so empty and useless that no one even bothered to walk in there usually.
This was a place that only those under level 35 could approach, and it was also where the first Additional Skill test would take place.
