Chapter 22 - Ch 22: She's a Man

[Daniel: Hey bro~ you started playing Clash Online and even made a name for yourself? Why did you not tell me? We could have played together? I could have carried you hard through the beginner's missions.]

Daniel's way of speaking was the same, teasing and reliable. Sometimes, he acted really cute to try and get to him.

According to him, he liked to play girl characters for the same reason… and for the smaller hitboxes… or so he said.

[Cane: I was going to contact you, but I wanted to get to a suitable level first. Besides, my account is a little glitched, so I cannot do the main quest anyway. So I wanted to figure things out before contacting you for help.]

Cane replied back. He trusted Daniel more than anyone else around him. Out of everyone he knew, Daniel was one of the few who wouldn't betray his trust.

[Daniel: So the rumours were true? Your account is glitched? Man, that must be tough. So, what class did you get?]

Daniel asked, and Cane almost told him before he decided to keep it a secret.

[Cane: Hmm, why don't you guess? It would be more fun that way, right? Anyway, I cannot add you as a friend because of my glitched class, and I would only be able to establish proper communication when I create a guild.]

He explained his situation clearly, and Daniel understood.

[Daniel: Tsk, what a bummer. But anyway, if you need to level up, then want to hit the dungeons together? I'm level 89. I can carry you.]

Cane had no more reason to hesitate. Since his friend was offering this, he decided to take that offered hand.

[Cane: Sure. Just let me log in.]

There was an instant reply from the other side of the phone.

[Daniel: OH YEAH-! I remember why I messaged in the first place.]

[Daniel: Do not enter until I message you to. There are assassins hired by someone to kill you as soon as you enter the game. You need to be careful… so just let me go in and check the way for you.]

Cane knew that this could happen, but he had not expected himself to get a bounty this soon.

Then again, he did have a kill-on-sight notice, so it was not that far-fetched for people to send assassins after him.

"Tsk, whom did I piss off to have this happen to me? Ugh, I have a feeling I am going to be haunted as soon as I enter the game."

But that was not going to stop Cane from playing.

About five minutes after Daniel contacted him, he got another message from him.

"It's fine now. You can enter. But do it quickly. I don't think I can hold these people back for any longer."

Cane wasted no time in logging in, and he immediately noticed loud noises and fighting. A hand grabbed his wrist before he looked up at a beautiful avatar.

Long silver hair, silver eyes, and a halo surrounding a divine face. The female extended her hand toward him, and he found himself taking that hand.

Truly, the avatar in front of him looked like a goddess, and the illusion would have been sold to him… had the other person not opened his mouth.

"Let's get out of here now. I managed to distract them all and cause a fight, but it might not last long."

Daniel's low male voice came from the avatar, and that killed Cane's mood, causing him to almost gag.

"Hey-! I told you not to speak when you look like that. Aren't you in your late 30s? Act your age."

Cane snapped as he stood up. He towered over the female avatar of his friend, and Daniel just snickered.

"Sure, I can act my age. Do you want me to use the voice modifier to make myself sound cuter? Would you prefer that?"

He asked, and Cane ignored him. He pitied the people who fell for Daniel's cute act and gave him things. His friend was a slum through and through for doing that.

But he was also a good friend, and right now, he had risked a lot to help Cane out.

"Let's get out of here. The longer we stay here, the more time we will waste."

Cane told Daniel before they rushed toward the exit. They successfully managed to make it out before Daniel sighed in relief.

"So, what's the next plan? Which dungeon do you want to hit next?"

Cane looked at the options available to him before he made a decision. He wanted to gain exp, but he also did not want to overlevel and miss out on proper opportunities.

The thing that made it more complicated was his 100X reward system. Doing a dungeon too high level would make him overshoot in exp.

'What a hassle. I never expected the 100X reward to become a problem. Anyway, this one should do.'

There was a level 40 dungeon that seemed to be perfect for him to raid.

"I have decided on the raid. Just wait a minute, I will put up a notice first. Thankfully, we cannot be killed during raids. And once we are done, we run away."

Daniel shrugged as he considered the plan. In the end, he decided that it was fine with him.

"Alright, we shall do that if that's what you want. I don't have a problem either way."

He told Cane before Cane sent a message to his followers about that day's stream. He made it seem like he had gone offline for a few seconds, but in reality, he was able to use that feature from inside the game itself.

Daniel either did not pay attention or had no idea that he could not send out notifications for streams from inside the game.

Once that was done, it was time for them to head out. People were starting to join his link, and soon, he had over 10k viewers. It was time to get started.

"Hello everyone-! Welcome to my stream-"
