It has been two years since I lived in Ruidoso. I have been homeschooling because Emy did not want me to attend school here, but overall, my life has been good. I'm 12 years old now and have started to speak English fluently, but my Spanish will always come first.
One morning, Ethan woke me up early. When I asked why, he told me to just wait, but to get in the truck for now. So I got in the truck and waited for Ethan then I saw him grab two fishing rods then we headed out when we stopped we were at a lake called Alto reservoir. When we got off Ethan told me to grab both of the fishing rods and find a spot when I asked where he was going he said he needed to go back to the house to work on some stuff but he would be back he said. So when he took off I started walking around the lake looking for a spot to fish when I did find the spot I got my rods ready and cast the first line out with a worm and the second line out with PowerBait. Fishing is one of my favorite things to do because catching a fish to me is like getting a new thing that you really wanted.
While fishing people will pass by asking if I caught anything yet and I did but it was just bluegill I will tell them I was going after trout for now. While I was on my phone that Emy gave me for my 11th birthday I noticed that there was a girl who was watching me from afar I didn't really mind about until she started to get closer and closer to my spot where I was at. When she was walking closer the fishing rod started to pull drag then I had a fish on when I got the fish on the shore it was a nice 16 to 17-inch trout. As soon as I put the fish on a stringer I hear a voice saying "That's a nice fish you got there" Thank you I told her She asked me what my name was and told her that my name is Emmanuel but you can call me Tony "Well it's nice to meet you Tony my name is Nevaeh" well it Nice to meet you as well Nevaeh you wanna talk for a bit I said and she said sure so while I was fishing me and Nevaeh started talking for a bit then she ask me if I wanted her phone number "sure" I told her then she had to leave because her parents were there to pick her up then ten minutes later Ethan show up
When I made it to the truck I caught five nice-sized rainbow trout when Ethan asked me how the fishing was and I told him that it was good and I met a new friend today when he asked me I told him about Nevaeh and he said he was proud that I'm talking to new people. When we were at the house Emy just made dinner and I told her everything that had happened during the day. After I was done eating dinner I hit the shower and went to my room but something inside of me felt weird and I didn't know what it was I felt like something that had happened today then it hit me I liked Nevaeh and I have feelings for her. But I told myself that I would let time pass then I lay in bed and waited for the next day.
