Chapter 290 - Chapter 281: First Time

Chapter 281: First Time

Vigne pursed her lips, her gentle eyes flickering with doubt as she said softly, "Satania, maybe you saw it wrong?"

Though she hadn't seen exactly what Kouya had been holding earlier, the idea of him using panties to wipe his mouth was… way too absurd to be true.

No matter how chaotic life with these angels and demons got, she simply couldn't picture Kouya doing something that indecent.

"But I really saw it!" the silly girl insisted with confidence, puffing out her chest. She was completely unaware that Kouya's expression had grown darker by the second. Pointing proudly to her own eyes, she said, "These are the eyes of a hawk! Super sharp and precise~!"

Sharp, my ass!

Those aren't hawk eyes—they're more like farsighted pigeon eyes! You saw me put something in my pocket but didn't notice the thundercloud forming over my head? My mood's gone from sunny to hurricane!

Kouya's patience finally snapped. His expression cold and unreadable, he took a few slow, heavy steps forward until he was standing right in front of her. His shadow fell over the foolish demon girl, the air thick with pressure.

"Go on," he said, voice low and calm. "Check my pocket."

Panties? There weren't any left, of course. He had already used his dimensional power to make sure of that.

But because they were so close, he could smell the faint scent of her shampoo and the soft fragrance of her freshly washed hair. It drifted between them, light and sweet.

Then Kouya froze—this idiot was actually blushing.

Her pale cheeks had turned a soft shade of pink, her lips parted slightly, her eyes flickering away nervously. She looked both flustered and… shy?

She's blushing? Really? The great Satania, blushing?

"Kouya-kun," Vigne said, her voice gentle but firm, "don't bully Satania."

Kouya sighed and stepped back, his sharp gaze softening. He had no idea why this girl was suddenly acting so bashful, but at least she'd stopped bringing up the panty incident. Turning on her heel, the embarrassed demon muttered something unintelligible and scurried into the bathroom, her tail twitching.

...

The apartment quieted again for a few minutes, until a pitiful, drawn-out voice echoed down the hall.

"Waaah~ Kouyaaa!"

Kouya lifted his head from the couch, half-annoyed, half-curious. "What now?"

Out from the bedroom came Raphiel, the ever-scheming angel, looking both graceful and melodramatic. She pressed a hand to her chest as though she were about to faint. "I just remembered something terribly, terribly important!"

"What, you planning to save the world?" Kouya muttered. "You're not a superhero in her underwear."

He gave her a dry look. Last night, this same angel had been begging Vigne to read her a bedtime story, not acting the least bit like someone who'd forgotten something life-changing.

Raphiel pouted prettily, twirling her fingers in mock shyness—an imitation of Rikka's usual antics. "I… I forgot to sneak into you last night, Kouya…"

Kouya didn't even blink.

Yeah right. If you actually had the guts, you'd have done it already.

He leaned back, unamused. "And you want me to believe that?"

Raphiel gave him a sorrowful look, clasping her hands dramatically. "To make up for my mistake… if you don't mind, you can have me for breakfast."

Her expression was pure innocence, but her tone dripped with mischief.

Kouya's jaw tightened. Perfect. He still hadn't gotten over that morning's embarrassment. If she wanted to tease him, fine—he'd play along.

"Alright," he said casually. "I accept."

He stood up and began walking toward her.

Raphiel blinked, stunned. "Eh…? Wait—what?"

Before she could move, he was already standing close enough for her to feel his breath. His eyes were calm but intense, his presence heavy. The faint scent of his cologne mingled with her natural fragrance—a soft, floral sweetness that was undeniably hers.

Her composure cracked. "W-What are you doing?"

Kouya's voice was low. "You said breakfast, didn't you?"

Her heart skipped. "T-That was just a joke!"

Kouya's smirk deepened. "You sure?"

Her thoughts spiraled. Had she finally gone too far? Was he really going to…?

Raphiel swallowed hard. Even someone as cunning as her had never dealt with this kind of tension before. She'd always teased from a safe distance—never with her heart pounding this fast, never with him this close.

'Oh no… what if he actually…'

She tried to regain control, but her mind betrayed her. 'Vigne was right. He really did turn from a gentle herbivore into a full-on carnivore!'

The air between them seemed to spark. Kouya's sharp gaze locked on hers, and for a brief, dizzying moment, she forgot how to breathe.

"I-I haven't brushed my teeth yet!" she blurted out, desperate for any excuse.

Kouya didn't even flinch. "That's fine. I don't mind."

Her eyes widened in horror. "You—You don't mind?! What kind of answer is that?!"

'I was joking! Why does he sound so serious?!'

Panicking, Raphiel tried to back away, but his hand came down against the wall beside her—an unmistakable wall slam. The sound echoed through the room. This was the second time he'd done that to her since the hot spring trip.

"Do you know what you should say?" Kouya asked softly, leaning in just a bit.

Raphiel's heart was racing so fast she thought it might explode. Her pride gave way completely. "…I-I'm sorry…" she whispered, barely audible.

For a few seconds, neither of them moved. Then Vigne's calm voice floated in from the kitchen.

"Breakfast is ready!"

The tension broke like a snapped string.

When Vigne stepped out, Kouya was sitting peacefully on the sofa, eyes on the TV as though nothing had happened. Raphiel was red-faced and trying to act casual, while Satania was pretending not to notice anything.

"Rikka, time to get up!" Vigne called into the bedroom.

From within came a muffled groan. "Nooo~ I don't wanna~"

"Really?" Vigne smiled faintly. "Then I guess I'll have to eat the cream cheese cake I bought this morning by myself."

"Eh?! I'm up! I'm up! Save me a piece! I need it to cure my 'low energy' debuff!"

Vigne chuckled softly and moved toward Gabriel's door. As expected, not a sound came from inside. The lazy angel had likely stayed up all night grinding through her games again.

Sighing, Vigne returned to the dining area. "Honestly, Gabi's sleeping habits are terrible for her health."

Kouya shrugged, unbothered. He'd long since accepted that Gabriel was a hopeless case when it came to sleep.

"Anyway," Vigne said, "Kouya-kun, take the bread out of the oven."

The smell of freshly baked bread filled the room, warm and comforting. Vigne had gone all out that morning. Alongside the bread were bowls of steaming rice, miso soup rich with tofu and seaweed, a few slices of grilled fish, and crispy sheets of nori arranged neatly on the side. She even added some fruit slices for color.

"Alright, everyone, sit down," she said, clapping her hands gently.

Satania bounced to her seat but immediately froze. Her eyes widened in horror.

"Where's my pineapple bun?!"

Kouya looked up from his plate and held up what remained of it—half gone. "Right here."

"W-What?!" Satania gasped, her face pale with shock. "Kouya! You cruel monster! You stole my first time!"

"Pfft—"

Vigne barely managed not to spit out her miso soup. She coughed several times, cheeks blazing red. "Satania! Watch your wording!"

Raphiel blinked innocently. "She meant the bun… right?"

"Of course!" Satania said indignantly, puffing up her cheeks. "That pineapple bun was supposed to be my first! It should've been eaten by me!"

Vigne sighed in relief, though Kouya just stared blankly.

"You eat pineapple buns every day," he said flatly. "Morning, night—it's never your first."

"That doesn't count!" Satania protested passionately. "Every day is a new day! The books say so! So each bun born fresh from the oven is starting its new life. And that means… it's my new first time!"

Kouya stared at her, speechless, then groaned. "You really are made of pineapple buns."

"Waaah~" Satania's eyes filled with tears as she stared at the squished bun in his hand. "It was supposed to be gentle and sweet for its first time… but you were so rough, Kouya! Now it's ruined!"
