Chapter 7 - Restored

While Amelia, on the other hand, suddenly felt intense heat spreading in her veins. All the Knight arts went through her mind; her Silver Blossom Sword Art showed itself in her mind—the foundation of her Knight path—as her Life Seed was getting patched.

After a moment she came out of her trance as mana exploded from her, destroying the couch beneath her. Thankfully, Mike—already unconscious—had fallen a little distance away. Even so, splinters from the shattered couch had cut his body in several places.

Mana continued erupting inside the house, sending objects flying. As Amelia opened her eyes, they were filled with tears, wet trails running down her cheeks.

"This… This feels like a dream… My Life Seed… it's repaired…"

She sobbed softly, turning to thank Mike.

"Thank you…"

But she paused immediately—he wasn't where she had last seen him. Then she sensed his faint aura near the doorway and turned to see his body, bloodied from the flying splinters.

"Mike!" she cried and dashed toward him—but her restored strength betrayed her. She exerted far too much force; the flooring cracked under her feet, and her body shot forward, blasting straight through the wall. She landed halfway on the road outside with a loud crash.

She winced, standing up quickly.

"Crap… forgot about my restored strength…"

After taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down and suppress her aura as much as she could. Trembling, afraid she might hurt him again, she rushed back inside and immediately called the SNA emergency helpline.

She crouched near Mike, keeping a careful distance as she probed him with the lightest possible touch of mana—still not trusting her control.

"Phew… it's just minor scratches, and he's unconscious because of mana overuse," she murmured in relief. She remembered his words, and her hands clenched.

"It seems he worked too hard… using his talent to fix my Life Seed…"

She sat near him but kept space between them, not daring to risk another accident. Meanwhile, outside, two men and a woman suddenly dropped down from sky.

"Is this the place?" one man asked as they noticed the broken wall.

"Yep, this is definitely it," the other replied.

They were the SNA response team, rushing here after Amelia's report, worried a monster had broken into the house. Entering cautiously, the woman in the lead shouted, seeing an suspicious woman near a bloodied boy.

"Hands up!"

Amelia quickly raised her hands looking back. "Please help my son… he fell unconscious after overusing mana," she said urgently.

Instantly, the two men and the woman lowered their guard.

"Alright, ma'am. But please stay away from him for now," one of them said gently.

Amelia nodded—while thinking they must have misundertood the situation.

"I've just regained my power, so I'm not fully in control yet," she explained.

As she tried to stand up, she accidentally used too much strength again; her foot went straight through the already-damaged floor. She flushed bright red in embarrassment.

"I… it's better if I remain in one place while you help my son," Amelia said, looking up, her face red like a tomato. The woman nodded to the two men while keeping a cautious eye on Amelia.

The two men approached Mike while she stood guard."It's nothing, just surface scratches," one man said as he waved his hand over Mike. A golden light came out of his palm and began healing Mike. Soon the wounds were gone, but Mike still didn't wake up.

"He's still unconscious," Amelia said, noticing this as the two men looked at their leader.

"We have to take him to the hospital to check if there's any internal injury," the woman said.

Amelia thought for a moment and then nodded. "Yes, you're right. I will follow after I calm myself a bit."

The woman nodded to the two men again.

"Don't worry, I'll be with you," the woman said gently—though in her head she was thinking something very different.

No matter how I look at it… is this woman a succubus in disguise?

Lina, the team leader, thought as she glanced again at Amelia's body. Amelia didn't look seductive on purpose—she had simply regained her beauty after her Life Seed was restored and her strength returned to peak Rank 2. Now she was just one step away from Rank 3.

It also improverd her physique greatly.

The two men carried Mike back to the ambulance where the doctor checked him and confirmed he was fine—just exhausted from mana overuse. Both men nodded and informed their superior, Lina, a Rank 5 powerhouse, about the situation.

Lina nodded. "Okay. Keep an eye on the boy."

Then she turned back to Amelia. "Can you tell me what happened?"

Amelia, still sitting on the floor, nodded. "My son must have come from his training arena. He told me he wanted to use his talent on me. Then he just placed his hand on my back and used his talent. The moment he did that… my broken Life Seed started to repair. After that, I was as good as new… and somehow broke through to peak Rank 2. When I came back to my senses, I saw him injured, so I rushed toward him—but I wasn't able to control my strength and blasted through the wall… that's why I called you all here," she said honestly.

Lina raised her brow as she took out her phone and dialed the number from which the distress call had originally come. Amelia's phone rang immediately.

Seeing this, Lina nodded.

"Okay. I believe you now," she said—but she still didn't let go of her suspicion. After all, there had been many cases of dungeon monsters escaping into the city, taking over human bodies, and perfectly mimicking their memories… even fooling inspectors.

And right now, the only person who could fully confirm the truth was Mike, who was still unconscious.

So Lina simply folded her arms and waited silently, eyes locked on Amelia. Even while being polite, her aura carried the pressure of someone who had seen too many tragedies to trust easily.
