Chapter 40 - Within the Hall
Idalia had expected many things but certainly nothing like this.
The hall was filled with gentle green, at least this part of the hall was. She caught the smell of something in the air. Something that wasn't steel, something that wasn't cold.
Instead, it seemed alive.
She took a couple of steps further, down her right side, and when more of the green soft light flickered on, she saw why the place felt more alive than the rest of the rooms she had been to in this steel dungeon.
There were different glass frames on the tables that were spread across the right side of the hall. In these glass structures, there were white lights installed in them, but it wasn't the blinding kind.
It was… gentle.
In each frame, there were varieties of plants but the one that piques her interest the most were the purple ones with large leaves. She tried not to touch anything, even accidentally. Something about this place felt so delicate.
