Chapter 42 - Planning With The Enemy
"So you are doing all this to get the approval from the government?" She said with a croaked voice, trying to steer the conversation away. There had been something so raw about what he had said that unsettled her.
Maybe he had sensed it too.
Because he pulled away.
Something shifted in the air as more distance stood between them.
She expected that he would not answer her. After all, Mr Lythoryn was very selective about what he responded to. He still hadn't said anything about catching her in his steel dungeon and right now, she really wanted to go to her son. So why was she delving into this? She should have used something else to distract him.
Something about needing to go to her son, preferably.
"Some charts and corpses will not do."
His response stunned her and before she could even stop herself, she was asking him another question.
