Chapter 9 - Slaying A Dragon

Amon didn't find any hint of falsehood in his father's eyes, which filled him with amazement and curiosity.

How was his father going to slaughter a dragon?

Was his father truly strong enough to do so?

Seth didn't say any more, knowing that actions spoke louder than words in these situations.

"RARUK!" Seth's loud shout thundered in Amon's ears, resounding into the distance.

The surroundings stirred, and the mountain in front of them began to rumble.

An aged voice echoed from within the mountain. "Seth Adam. I thought we made an agreement to stay out of each other's way for the benefit of both our races?"

'It can actually speak?' Amon was startled. Aside from the Primordial Dragon, he hadn't met another creature capable of speech.

Seth didn't reply; his gaze remained fixed on the mountain as it continued to rumble, gravel spilling into the surroundings.

Finally, all the gravel had fallen away, and to Amon's amazement, he realized that the dragon was the mountain itself.

It was as though the creature had slumbered there for so long that, over time, it had become one with the mountain through weathering and age.

Before Amon stood a massive creature looming over them, its wings stretching lightly as though they could blot out the skies above.

Although it couldn't even begin to compare with the Primordial Dragon, Amon still felt an overwhelming sense of pressure radiating from the creature.

He and his father looked so small that, for a brief moment, Amon thought his father had led them both to their deaths.

Seth could feel the fear and trembling in his son's body, and anger surfaced in his eyes.

"Stop releasing your pressure! You're scaring my son!"

The moment he finished speaking, he didn't wait for the dragon's aura to recede. Instead, a purple dragon slithered forth, emerging from his Celestial Core at his midsection.

The instant the purple Chinese Dragon appeared, all the pressure Amon felt vanished.

Amon's eyes widened in utter shock.

This was the first time he had seen his father's Celestial Dragon, and it looked no less magnificent than his mother's.

"Fuse," Seth muttered a single word. Within the next instant, the Celestial Dragon flew, dancing in the air in a burst of lightning arcs before plunging headfirst into Seth's chest.

Boom!

A thunderous sound erupted from the collision, causing Amon to shut his eyes briefly.

When he opened them, he was stunned to see that his father had changed completely.

Before, Seth had looked like a normal middle-aged man who cared for his son and his responsibilities. But now...

His raven-black hair had turned purple, arcs of lightning crackling along its edges, and in his hand was a spear condensed from pure lightning.

A violet hue wrapped tightly around his body, and the air itself seemed to hum in his presence.

Previously, although Amon could tell his father was extremely strong, he could still bear it to a certain degree.

He still seemed human.

Now, however, he had become a monster, a beast in human skin.

Amon whispered internally in dread, subconsciously taking a step back from his father.

"Look closely, Son…" Seth said smoothly, unfazed by his son's fear, as though giving him a lesson.

"YOU! What are you trying to do, Seth?! How dare you try to kill me?!" the dragon roared in fury, a burst of fire billowing from its mouth.

Seeing Seth fuse with his Celestial Dragon, the creature finally realized that Seth was serious about breaking their pact.

Roarrrr!

Fire erupted in a violent storm from the dragon's throat, surging like a tidal wave toward Seth and Amon.

Even from where he stood, Amon's hair stood on end. For a second, he felt he might be burnt to ashes if he was even slightly careless.

Seth twisted his spear, lightning crackling around it, then thrust it forward.

Shink!

The spear seemed to bend space itself, and in an instant, it appeared before the dragon.

The dragon's eyes widened in horror.

"You… You've reached that realm!"

Those were its final words before the spear pierced its forehead and exploded violently.

The massive creature that had terrified Amon, the one whose wings seemed to blot out the sky, died just like that.

Amon's heart pounded viciously, racing with anticipation.

'What strength, what absurd strength! My father... he actually has such power!'

Countless thoughts swirled in his mind as he stared at his father, eyes gleaming.

The dreadful aura around Seth receded, and the purple Celestial Dragon emerged once more before sinking back into his Celestial Core.

Seth smirked and turned to Amon, raising a brow.

"I want you, my son, to understand," Seth said in a fatherly tone filled with affection.

"This is the strength your father possesses... Don't think you'll achieve anything less."

"Yes, Father." Amon clenched his fist in anticipation.

His path was only beginning, and in time, he was certain he would reach his father's heights and even surpass them.

Seth finally glanced at the little creature in Amon's hands.

"Call up your runes so you can see what Celestial Gift you obtained. If it isn't helpful, you can try again next year."

"Yes, Dad." He nodded, then shifted his attention inward.

'Status.'

The moment he called, a set of glowing runes appeared in his line of sight. It still looked familiar, though it was slightly changed.

[Name: Amon Adam

Age: 5

Unique Aspect: Limitless Physique

Primordial Path: Mortal Vein

Celestial Gift: Primordial Genesis

Creation Points: —

Strength: 3

Agility: 3

Vitality: 3

Perception: 1]

"The Celestial Gift is called Primordial Genesis," Amon said, repeating the information to his father.

"Primordial Genesis?" Seth frowned slightly. "I've never heard of a Celestial Gift like that. Speak to the runes for the description. Just say 'Description.'"

Amon nodded and did as his father instructed.

'Description.'

[Celestial Gift: Primordial Genesis.

You are the beginning of all things, and all things originate from you. Using this gift, you can create anything. The only limit is your imagination and your Creation Points, which can be obtained at random from slain creatures.]

"What?!" Amon screamed in shock, startling his father.

"Is it that bad?" Seth frowned deeply.

Amon shook his head and explained what the runes had revealed.

"What?!" Seth exclaimed again after hearing it.

"No, this is impossible! Why would such a Celestial Gift exist? It's absurd! I've never even heard of a gift remotely like this!" Seth shook his head vehemently, struggling to accept it.

His gaze fell onto the snow-white cat, and shock flashed through his eyes.

"This Celestial Dragon... just what is it?"

Beside him, Amon was also struggling to stay calm.

Creating endlessly?

Didn't that make him a god?

'There must be some kind of limitation to this gift. Something this broken shouldn't exist...'

'Could it be because I formed a contract with a Primordial Dragon instead of a Celestial Dragon?' Amon guessed silently, though even that was hard to confirm.

"The Creation Points... Let's kill a few beasts and see what limits exist to this gift."
