Chapter 20 - Creating A Celestial Gift 2

"What?" Peculiar's eyes widened in amazement upon noticing Amon seemingly disappear.

Previously, she had been curious about what gift Amon possessed, but to think he had the same gift as her all this while.

A cute smile graced her lips.

Turning her attention back to the bandits, she attacked without hesitation, her wooden spear causing a sharp whistling sound to burst through the air.

On Amon's side, surprisingly, after using the gift for barely a few seconds he felt it go out of control and deactivate.

Although stunned, his movements didn't pause in the slightest.

Since he was already in front of the bandit, Amon didn't hesitate to strike toward his abdomen.

A groan escaped the mouth of the bandit the moment the wooden sword struck him.

Despite it being just a wooden sword, the force behind Amon's attack was enough to make the bandit feel pain.

Amon steadied himself, then tried activating his Invisibility gift once more.

Instantly, he vanished.

Using his time advantage, Amon quickly delivered another crushing blow to the bandit, causing him to yelp.

Unable to do anything, the bandit collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

With three attacks Amon had managed to take down the bandit.

His figure became visible and Amon finally understood what was happening.

'Perhaps due to the fact that the gift I created is at F Rank, it can only last for three seconds before automatically turning off. After that there's a one second cooldown.'

Having studied his gift the second time he created it, Amon quickly understood everything about it.

Nonetheless, he wasn't disappointed.

After all, this was merely the ability at F Rank.

Perhaps at a higher rank it might have miraculous effects such as erasing his existence from the real world.

'Now all I have to do is use the ability sparingly and with wisdom.' Amon lampooned internally, sensing the bandits closing in on them both.

Through the corner of his eyes he noticed that Peculiar had already taken down three more bandits and was beginning to attack the next one.

'She is really good at this huh?' With no time limit to her abilities, Peculiar remained in the same state of Invisibility while knocking unconscious every bandit she encountered with her spear.

Whoosh.

Amon felt the air in front of him rustle.

Instinctively, he sidestepped, dodging the attack.

Noticing another punch heading toward his face, Amon hastily stepped back.

A muscular-looking bandit growled at him, then punched out once again.

Increasing the force and strength behind his punch, he aimed to eliminate Amon in a single attack.

Amon noticed the speed of the attack and understood he couldn't dodge in time.

Without hesitation an immaterial light briefly appeared around his body before Amon vanished from the location.

The muscular bandit looked stunned for a brief instant, causing him to halt his attack.

The next moment he felt something fiercely collide with his neck.

It seemed like a vein burst there, causing blood to gush out like a fountain.

Before the blood could stain Amon he dodged repeatedly and steadied himself at a safe spot.

His attention fixed on the man clutching his neck and wincing in pain.

After glancing at him for a few seconds, he shifted his mind to another bandit.

Two of them in fact.

Circling him, both were wielding blades in each of their hands.

It looked like a kitchen knife, and with the traces of blood at the edges, it was obvious they had used it to kill a few animals.

Amon's gaze shifted between both of them as he hardened his pounding heart and waited for the first strike.

The bandits didn't cause him to wait long.

With a loud roar, the first one, a slender middle aged man, charged at him.

The knife in his hand cut through the air with a sharp sound, heading straight for Amon's head.

With this being the first time Amon felt the threat of death surrounding him, his heart pounded loudly.

He could feel his blood boiling.

His Limitless Physique began to stir and all the knowledge of Basic Sword Arts he had mastered surfaced in his mind.

From his First Core, primordial energy surged into his foot and he was able to sidestep in time.

Infusing his arms with primordial energy to increase his strength, he bent his wooden sword backward.

Taking advantage of the bandit's missed strike, Amon struck him in the ribs.

BANG.

The attack collided with the bandit, however Amon didn't pay him any heed.

As if acting on pure adrenaline, his figure faded.

The moment it did, there was a brief pause before another sharp knife swept through the spot Amon had been standing in.

It was obvious that the second bandit was taking advantage of the moment to sneak in an attack and kill Amon.

Thankfully, his muscle memory was particularly active.

After successfully dodging the attack, a ruthless expression appeared on Amon's face even as he appeared once more due to the gift fading off.

His wooden sword plunged into the eye of the bandit with ruthless efficiency.

ARRRRRGGGGHHH.

A roar tore through the air as the bandit clutched his eye tightly, the pain spreading throughout his whole body.

The agonising cry caused the remaining bandits to feel shivers run down their spine.

They were all staring at Amon as though he was a monster.

On Peculiar's side, there were unconscious bandits, and it was clear she had been careful not to harm them in the slightest.

However on Amon's side, one bandit was clutching his eye while the second was on the ground at his last legs, grasping his neck as blood gradually pooled.

Staring at the cold, silvery eyes beneath the black mask that scanned through them…

They felt as though they were being stared at by the Devil.

Amon didn't care what the bandits were thinking.

Without a second thought he attacked the second bandit with a knife who was trying to recover from the strike to his ribs.

BANG.

This time, his force exploded into the bandit, and surprisingly his wooden sword pierced through his ribs.

However due to that, cracks spread through the wooden sword and it looked like it might break at any time.

Noticing this sight, a few bandits turned pale and no longer planned to stay here any longer.

They instantly took to their heels, running into the forest.

Seeing that they had dealt with all the bandits, Peculiar's eyes were filled with excitement.

She immediately materialised and Amon could sense the joy coming from her.

Counting, he noticed they had dealt with more than fifteen bandits just now.

Two five year old children.

It was absurd to think about.

But in the miraculous Bermuda World with all sorts of gifts it was completely possible.

Peculiar thanked Amon, then walked toward the cage with a few people inside.

She reached out to open it.

Glancing around, Amon suddenly perked up his brows, noticing a faintly glinting black light.

His heart immediately skipped a beat and he turned toward Peculiar to warn her.

But it was already too late.

A whistling sound echoed in the air and the next moment, a sharp rod-like object pierced through her and impaled her into a nearby tree.

Peculiar's eyes rolled back and she lost consciousness, her state unknown.

Amon's mind went blank the moment this happened.

He didn't know what to do.

Stepping out from the woods was a middle aged man with a light mask covering half his face and leaving his dark red eyes exposed.

With a snicker he raised his hand toward Amon.

"You little creatures have really made a ruckus here…"

Just as he was about to attack, the Protector that Seth left for his son was about to kill him off.

Suddenly, he paused.

'No, that can't be… he's manifesting the aura of… a Sword Art?'

Jamie's eyes widened in shock.

A faint reddish glow had appeared around Amon and surprisingly, it was radiating the aura of the Sword Art.

His wooden sword seemed to have become a sharp blade.

Noticing the change, the man sent out a flying rod from his hand.

However, Amon didn't hesitate to calmly slice through the air.

Miraculously, despite the attack reaching him, his wooden sword cleanly cut it in two and the fragments separated, not causing any damage to him.

'A Sword Art? So this is what the Sunset Sword Art is?'

Amon wondered internally, feeling a surging heat coursing through his body.
