The mansion felt colder than usual.

Elena stood frozen as the security screen brightened again, focusing on the man wearing a hood, his face angled up just enough for the camera to catch his features.
She knew that face.
She had served him food.
She had collected plates from his table.
He had always smiled politely, always tipped well, always acted friendly.
Never threatening.
Never dangerous.
But the man on the screen now—
He wasn't smiling politely.
He was smiling like a predator.
"Elena," Adrian said softly, without taking his eyes off the screen, "tell me exactly who he is."
Her hands trembled slightly. "His name is Ryan. Ryan Keller."
Adrian's jaw flexed.
"Did he ever approach you outside work?"
