Rise of the Feline Society Chapter 14 - The Bite
When the pair transformed their limbs there was a noticeable smile that appeared on their faces which the crowd noticed.
"Oh," the announcer stated. "Looks like there is now confidence in the pair representing the Fe gang. I wonder what changed."
The two Iron clad members looked unbothered as they approached the both of them.
"Hey," William whispered. "Can you partially transform your legs?"
Amelia nodded.
The pants fabric that wasn't touching her before was now touching her legs as they transformed and expanded.
Good thing my shoes are a little bigger than they should be, William thought as he partially transformed his feet, his elongated toenails ripping through his socks. Immediately he could feel strength along with a surge of power in his feet.
The Ironclad members rushed forward. One took on Amelia and the other took on William. The gang member threw a punch. William dodged to the side avoiding the attack his agile Reflexes skill still being active. The gang member did a spin trying to back hand William but he jumped to the side. That's when William went in dealing a blow to the gang member. His head was knocked to the side but otherwise he looked fine.
He is tougher than he looks, William thought as he avoided another attack backing away.
On the other side Amelia wasn't facing much better as her attacks weren't doing much to the other Ironclad gang member. He rushed in jumping in the air throwing out a kick. Amelia ducked sliding under the gang member while punching him in his balls. When he landed the Ironclad member clutched his pearls in pain. Amelia took this opportunity rushing in and jumped on his head. She proceeded to wrap her arms around his neck to try and choke him out as she was now on his back. He reacted like how any person would react being choked by trying to get her off of him. He started swaying his body wildly. That's when the gang member jumped in the air proceeding to try and smash his back onto the ground and Amelia along with. She kicked off of his back just as he slammed on the ground.
"Ow," he grunted.
She ran up raising her foot to smash his face but he grabbed her leg mid attack. She tried breaking free but just like last time she couldn't get out of it. He swung out his other hand but she leapt up kicking it away with her other foot slipping out in the process. She landed on her back but got up very quickly and so did her opponent.
Meanwhile William had just performed a tornado kick slamming his transformed foot into his ear. The member retaliated by rushing in grabbing William's head and slammed his head into his knee.
"Minus 7 HP," the system stated.
The gang member lifted him up and slammed his head into his knee again but with more force.
"Minus 10 HP. You have sustained a concussion. HP 25 of 50."
The gang member got ready to do it again when Amelia came in punching the man in the face. He stumbled backwards not expecting the attack and his body hit the ground with a loud thud.
Amelia looked at William and he looked to be in a sorry state.
"Let's test you're healing of your head injury," Amelia muttered as she faced the two gang members.
"Emergency healing activated. Since you are not in combat your body is prioritizing the healing of your body. Minus 40 energy to repair the functions of your brain. Energy 86 of 150."
William barely conscious could feel that soothing warm feeling in his head but at the moment the crowd thought he was knocked out.
"It looks like a member of the Fe group has been knocked out," The announcer stated. "It looks like it's going to be a win for the Ironclad gang."
The two Ironclad members smiled thinking that they had this in the bag as they confidently approached Amelia.
"You know," the left member said who had grabbed her leg twice. "You can yield and fight another day."
"Or," the other member began. "You don't and I can enjoy knocking you out because we are warriors of the Ironclad gang!"
The two rushed in at Amelia. She ran toward them which the two gang members thought was weird but continued anyways. At the last second she jumped to the left swinging her covered up right fist into the left gang member's face. Blood fell from his broken nose. The other gang member rushed in. Amelia faked a kick them punched him in the gut. It didn't do much as he bared through the pain grabbing onto her head.
"Got you," the gang member growled as he prepared to smash her face into his knee just as a sharp growl cut through the air.
"Rraawwrr!"
The Ironclad member turned his head just as William leapt into the air latching onto him. He then proceeded to rapidly punch the gang member in his face.
"Unexpected!" The announcer yelled into his microphone. "He is back on his feet and besides the blood on his face he seems to be fine."
The crowd erupted into applause as this was something they don't see often. The other gang member got back up grabbing William and pulled him off of his partner.
At that moment William felt a familiar and unfamiliar feeling of instinct taking over, a need to survive.
He turned around facing the member who had grabbed him with a wild expression in his eyes as he leapt up biting into his shoulder blade.
"Oww!" the gang member yelled in pain as blood dripped down his chest.
"Agh!" the crowd gasped in shock not expecting this outcome.
"Whoa!" the announcer yelled. "Looks like this fight has triggered his wild side."
The bloody gang member smashed William's face sending him spiraling onto the ground. That's when the blood started to come out more as the Ironclad member clutched his wound in pain.
"You crazy bastard!" the gang member shouted.
Did I just bite him William thought as soon as that weird instinct went away. I don't know what came over me. He looked at the other gang member who hesitated to approach seeing what William just did to his partner. He then turned to look at Amelia who was just as shocked as everybody else.
In the crowd both Penny and Marvin's mouths were wide open. Felix unlike the two of them had a smile on his face.
Someone that will do what it takes to win, he thought. Someone that isn't afraid to act even when everyone is watching. He's the one that we need. He'll be the one to…lead us.
Back at the fight the injured gang member now filled with fury charged at William. William leapt up pulling his foot back then slammed it into his head. The gang member's eyes rolled into his head as his body slammed onto the ground unconscious.
"You have knocked out a tough opponent," the robotic male voice of the system announced. "50 Exp gained. Exp 195 of 200."
"Oh," William gasped.
So, I get more exp if my opponent is harder to beat. Will I get the same amount if I beat the other one?
William began to approach the other gang member as Amelia came out of her daze and started to close in on him.
The gang member not wanting to get bitten by William cried out, "I yield!"
For a moment there was no sound before cheers erupted from the crowd. Some slammed their fist into their seat as they had lost the bet and some cheered knowing that it was a good fight even though they had lost money too.
"Unbelievable!" The announcer shouted. "The noobie Fe gang has won."
The crowd got louder with cheers and applause.
"Oh, look at that!" Leo reacted. "Looks like we are joining the Fe group.
Madison didn't react as she was still in shock.
Felix who was a lot calmer than everybody else told Penny and Marvin to grab the pair and to meet them at the betting booth as he was going to go and collect his winnings.
Penny and Marvin obeyed as they moved toward the floor before the crowd got any ideas. They almost tripped once or twice but they got down to the fighting area.
After some weaving a push and a shove they arrived at the booth where Felix was holding a bag of what looked like cash.
"Nice going there," Felix congratulated William and Amelia. "Honestly William, I thought you were down for good. You're just as tough as Penny described you."
William looked at Penny and her face turned red with embarrassment.
"Let's get out of here and I'll explain how we split the funds," Felix said but before they could leave two people approached them.
Felix handed the money over to Marvin before walking up to the two of them. The two who had walked up to the group were Madison and Leo.
"That was a wonderful win," Madison said praising William and Amelia. "We were wondering if you were just a group that bets at these places or if you truly are a gang."
Felix gave a side eye before answering. "Yes, we are a true gang. Just started out though."
"That's good to hear," Madison said. "Are you accepting members? We wanted to join a gang that started out and based on your performance tonight I think your gang is the best to devote my time to."
There was a smile that appeared on Felix's face when Madison asked that question. He lowered his zipper a little reaching in and pulled out two burner phones handing it to Leo and Madison. He then zipped up his hoodie.
"What are your names?" Felix asked.
"My name is Madison Leigh and this here is my friend Leo Dawson."
"Nice to meet the both of you," Felix said as he shook both of their hands. "How old are you too?"
"I'm 16," Madison stated.
"And I'm 17," Leo stated.
Felix paused before continuing. "Are you still in school?"
"No, we dropped out," Madison stated. "We need money and we need to put work into getting it so school was just in the way."
"So, you can help out whenever I secure the funds needed for that area," Felix stated looking off in the distance before continuing. "Unfortunately, since you weren't members when I made the bets, I can't share this money with you. I hope you understand."
"We understand," Madison responded.
"Good, good," Felix stated. "The early members are going to sort this money out and I'll text you when the next gang event is going to be. Hopefully not too much longer we will have turf and not have to rely on risking our money placing bets here. Anyways see you two later."
The two nodded while turning around and walked away to watch the next game.
"We don't need to stay," Felix said. "Let's go and split the earnings."
They all nodded as the group followed Felix out of the Underground Fighting Club.
