Chapter 25 - Chang'an

After word of the Chosen spread, many impostors began appearing—pretending to be divinely chosen.

However, impersonating a true Chosen was no easy task.

The Chosen possessed power far beyond ordinary humans—something no impostor could ever fake.

It was true that a handful of cultivators and mystics existed among mankind, gifted with special abilities.

But their strength compared to that of the Chosen was like an ant to an elephant.

Even the weakest Chosen could single-handedly defeat thousands, and with their ability to summon angelic soldiers, could command armies capable of overwhelming tens of thousands.

Their seemingly slender arms could effortlessly lift objects weighing hundreds of pounds.

Furthermore, the Chosen had a direct link to the angels. Most of what they needed, they could accomplish alone—unlike those charlatan priests who relied on deceit and extortion.

A missionary of the Church of Revelation, fluent in the local language and holding a Bible, approached Man Sui.

He looked down to study her—a girl of about ten years old, thin, clad in rags, with dark hair and striking deep-blue eyes.

A young girl, with eyes unlike any mortal, and power that defied reason.

All traits befitting a Chosen.

The missionary turned toward the line of refugees and said slowly, "This broken land needs a Chosen—someone great, destined to lead it toward a better future."

Though his accent was imperfect, Man Sui could understand his meaning.

"What do you intend to do?"

The missionary was certain now—the child before him was indeed this nation's Chosen.

A country this vast could not possibly be without one.

He couldn't fathom why she looked so destitute, but at least she wasn't one of those gaudy frauds.

Under the rule of several Chosen, Europe had become prosperous. The people's lives grew better by the day.

Heaven had descended to earth—not as an afterlife fantasy, but as living reality.

Heaven was not easily reached.

Those were the Angel's words.

Even in the Far East, their Chosen was somewhat lazy, yet everything still moved toward progress.

Only this ancient Eastern nation remained without a visible Chosen—and its people suffered miserably.

"I will conquer the world, divide the land, and end this chaotic age. That is the mission the Immortal has given me," Man Sui said calmly.

She had already heard of the Church of Revelation and the Chosen. Apparently, she wasn't the only one chosen by Heaven.

This was a chance to learn what the other Chosen had done to bring peace.

"I have some questions for you," she said.

"Please, ask! It is my greatest honor to answer a Chosen's doubts," the missionary replied eagerly.

"It's just..."

When Man Sui asked how the other Chosen had unified their realms, the missionary hesitated for a moment.

In Europe, the Far East, and the Americas, the Chosen all reclaimed lands and authority the same way—

By conquest.

Those who resisted were crushed.

All opposition was eliminated.

The missionary thought for a moment, then answered truthfully.

A direct war? That matched her own thoughts exactly.

Man Sui was not surprised by his answer.

She couldn't think of any way to end the chaos other than through force.

But... the Chosen could summon armies?

The Immortal had never mentioned that.

Could she do that too?

On the reconstructed moon, Kiana Kaslana felt a ripple of awareness.

"So, you're finally ready to fight? Excellent. Then take these."

She glanced toward Chang'an and, from subspace, dispatched two thousand Seraph-class Honkai Beasts, one thousand Knight-class Honkai Beasts, and five thousand zombies.

Man Sui's territory-to-be was nearly as large as all of Europe.

Naturally, she would need a larger force of Honkai Beasts and zombies.

Chang'an City.

From a subspace rift, Seraph-class and Knight-class Honkai Beasts, along with the Honkai zombies, emerged and assembled neatly in four great formations before Man Sui.

Receiving control over the eight-thousand-strong army of Honkai Beasts and zombies, Man Sui led them in a grand march straight into Chang'an City.

Chang'an, the capital of many dynasties, was the most prosperous city in the Shaanxi region.

Although occupied by westerners, imperial officials still managed the city's daily affairs.

The appearance of a Chosen in this nation quickly became known to the Europeans residing within the city.

To the locals, the Chosen were nothing more than fictional figures described by the missionaries of the Church of Revelation—beings said to single-handedly defeat entire armies and destroy whole nations.

Mythical, unbelievable.

Defeating a hundred soldiers alone might be possible, perhaps.

But one against ten thousand? A hundred thousand? An entire nation? In their minds, such a thing was utterly impossible.

However, to the Europeans who had encountered and understood other Chosen, these were no myths.

The strongest of humanity could still be worn down by sheer numbers, their strength eventually failing, allowing them to be captured or killed.

But against a Chosen, even an army of hundreds of thousands was meaningless.

Only another Chosen could fight a Chosen.

When two Chosen clashed, ordinary soldiers could do nothing but flee as far as possible—getting too close meant certain death from the shockwaves of their battle.

The emergence of a Chosen in this land prompted the Europeans doing business in Chang'an to immediately prepare lavish gifts and pay her visits.

This girl was destined to be the nation's future ruler. If they did not establish good relations now, seeing her later would be nearly impossible.

The local nobles and officials of Chang'an were bewildered by their behavior.

How could these foreigners treat a mere ten-year-old girl as if she were an emperor?

But when they heard she could summon divine soldiers, and when they personally witnessed the Honkai Beasts and zombies in Chang'an with their own eyes, the city's nobles quickly followed suit.

Some things were better believed than doubted.

And besides—she commanded armies. Whoever held the army held power.

None dared to offend her.

Soon, news spread across Shaanxi that a Heaven-appointed Chosen—Lady Man Sui—had appeared in Chang'an, blessed with divine might and leading heavenly troops.

The conservative factions, upon learning that this so-called Heaven-sent ruler was merely a ten-year-old girl, sneered with contempt.

A Chosen? Nonsense.

Just another trick to deceive the masses!

In ancient times, especially across East Asia, the prejudice against women was deeply ingrained.

The notion that a young girl of ten could be Heaven's appointed emperor seemed absurd to them.

Meanwhile, in Chang'an, Man Sui did not rest for long. She soon led her army of zombies, Honkai Beasts, and newly joined followers straight toward Luoyang.

Having secured her foothold in this world, Kiana Kaslana shifted her focus to the next problem—the abominations like the human-faced spider.

From the moon now infused with Honkai energy, she used it as an anchor to extend a reality-distortion field, gradually spreading it over the entire blue planet.

In this world, Hell held the power to control the cycle of souls—the reincarnation of the dead.

She intended to seize that power of life and soul from the hands of those monstrous deities.

The reality-distortion field continued to expand—until it enveloped the whole world.
