Chapter 45 - Obito Declares War on the Five Kage! Chaos at the Summit; Kabuto Makes the Headlines!

"Is he here to apologize?"

[Sasuke]: "Obito's… coming to admit fault?"

[Darui]: "It's the Five Kage, after all…"

[Kurotsuchi]: "Face those five? He's gotta be here to say sorry, right?"

Everyone assumed reconciliation. I mean—who barges into a Five Kage Summit alone for anything else?

Obito planted one foot on the stone balustrade, looking down on the hall with open contempt.

"I am Uchiha Madara. I'm here to negotiate."

Then, like it was small talk, he laid out his "plan"—to break the world.

The room went glacial.

You tell your entire scheme to the strongest leaders on the continent… to their faces? Not worried about being dog-piled?

Obito glanced over their guarded stances and snorted.

"Fine. I know you won't agree. In that case…"

He rose higher, overlooking the dais, the storm outside flashing white across his mask.

"I hereby declare the Fourth Great Ninja War."

Thunder cracked. Across the nations, jaws hit floors.

[Boruto]: "H–hey, he's just one guy!"

[Shikadai]: "He's not grandstanding. He wants every spear pointed at him—for a reason we haven't seen yet."

[Inojin]: "Which… is terrifying."

A love so stubborn it curdled into doom: Uchiha Obito—bearing the 'Madara' name, marching across a lifetime for Rin.

To prove she existed, he chose to become the storm.

The sky-screen flickered—cutting to a dim cavern.

Obito met Kabuto Yakushi.

A handshake between a masked king and a grave-robbing scholar.

Kabuto, the "gold-touch archaeologist," had already unearthed the legends—coffins upon coffins—ready to be called back by Impure World Reincarnation.

The audience went dead quiet.

[Jiraiya]: "I can't watch—Orochimaru! Is grave-digging really the curriculum for your pupils?!"

[Tsunade]: "Both teacher and student are rotten!"

[Orochimaru]: "My, my. He inherited all my better qualities."

[Kabuto]: "Orochimaru-sama…" (proud noises)

Using Hashirama's cells, Kabuto mass-produced an army of White Zetsu—one hundred thousand strong.

And then he rattled the lids of history, lining up the famous dead like chess pieces.

Obito frowned at the silhouettes in those coffins… familiar, dangerous.

Meanwhile, back in the Leaf—Kabuto hit the morning news cycle:

"Shock! Orphanage Director Raises Children Into Dragons — exclusive photos!"

"Leaf in Turmoil: The Gentle Director's Unthinkable Past"

"The Seventh Hokage & Director Kabuto — Secrets They Never Told"

At a burger joint, the new gen all turned to Mitsuki.

"Uh… so that saintly 'Director'… that's your uncle, right?" Sarada blinked.

"Mm. He and Mom get along very well," Mitsuki nodded, voice soft.

Boruto slumped. "Wild. Feels like everyone is tougher than my old man."

[Ōnoki]: "Thought he was posing at the summit. Turns out Obito's got the receipts."

[Raikage A]: "From today on, guard the coffins. Cloud ANBU—double detail!"

[Mei]: "Mist as well!"

[Rasa]: "Same for Sand."

[Hiruzen]: "Orochimaru! Look at the squalor your student's caused—you snake of a disciple!"

[Orochimaru]: "We'll be reunited soon enough, sensei…"

With armies arranged, Obito set his next target: Nagato's Rinnegan—to summon the Gedo Statue.

[Nagato]: "So… I die in that future?"

[Konan]: "Impossible. Who could defeat Pain?"

[Deidara]: "Someone stronger than the boss? Tch."

[Madara]: "Nagato is a grain of sand."

[Nagato]: "And you're a ghost of hot air."

[Iwabe]: "Facts—so far all we've seen of 'Madara' is smack talk."

Rain hammered the metal maze of Amegakure.

Space rippled; Obito stepped onto a rusted pipe, scanning the industrial ocean of steel.

"Looking for something?" A cool voice drifted from behind.

"Where did you hide Nagato's body?" Obito didn't turn. If she handed it over, he wouldn't bother with a fight.

On the road far away, Kakuzu clutched his chest.

"Bad… feeling…"

Hidan blinked. "You okay, old man?"

"Don't know why… just feels like paperwork is coming for me."

[Deidara]: "Is Obito about to kill Konan?"

[Obito]: "Boredom's a luxury. I don't waste time."

[Kakashi]: "I knew it—Obito's still got a kind side!" (…optimism speedrun)

Amegakure's constant rain hissed around them; the air itself felt cold.

"Nagato isn't here."

Konan's body unfurled—a storm of paper butterflies—flowing past Obito and drifting seawards.

His gaze hardened. Space twisted; he vanished into a spiral.

Out on the open sea, two abandoned exhaust stacks jutted like gravestones.

Konan's paper folded back into her form atop the steel—waiting.

Obito emerged from a ripple, mask slick with rain.

"So you won't tell me. Fine."

Konan's eyes were steady. "I knew you'd come. I've been ready."

Viewers leaned forward. A trump card?

[Danzō]: "Hmph. That Rinnegan belongs to me."

[Nagato]: "…"

[Boruto]: "Why does that guy sound proudly wrong all the time?"

[Kakuzu]: "…This sea. Something's off."

[Hashirama]: "…Now that you mention it—yeah."

The camera widened.

Rain fell in silver threads across an ocean that didn't quite ripple like water—

Because beneath Obito's feet…

The entire bay was paper.

A pale, endless paper sea—layered, loaded, and primed.

Konan lifted one hand. Sheets fluttered like wings.

"For Yahiko. For Nagato. For Sensei.

I prepared a six hundred billion paper bombs funeral—just for you."

The mask tilted. The storm held its breath.

Boom.

The horizon lit white.
