[Boruto]: "What's so strange? It's just an ocean."
[Neji]: "How's your training, Boruto?"
[Boruto]: "Heh, I already mastered the Gentle Fist!"
[Hiashi]: "Foolish haste leads to waste. Even your chakra flow sounds sloppy."
[Hizashi]: "Brother, he's your grandson, not your enemy."
[Hiashi]: "Nonsense. The Hyūga only bloom under pressure!"
Who could've guessed? Years later, the same old Hiashi would turn into a doting grandpa who'd buy Himawari ice cream before every training session.
[Hashirama]: "If Obito really gets the Rinnegan, will he be even stronger?"
[Tobirama]: "Rinnegan and Kamui? Terrifying. Even you wouldn't match him, brother."
[Izuna]: "As expected of my clan's genius."
[Madara]: "Hmph. Average, at best."
[Uchiha Tsubaki]: "Madara just loves flexing. Textbook lies confirmed!"
[Sarada]: "I hate to say it… but she's got a point."
No one in the new generation truly believed the legend of Uchiha Madara.
Their textbooks painted him like a myth: a resurrected old man who moonwalked on the battlefield and killed the Five Kage and the Seventh Hokage all in one arc.
Sounded faker than a filler episode.
If not for this sky-projected playback, nobody would've bought it.
[Nagato]: "That Rinnegan's backlash isn't a joke, Obito. You can't handle it."
[Obito]: "I'll decide that myself."
[Kakashi]: "Obito… please. Come back to Konoha already…"
Konan didn't waste breath. She'd protect Nagato's body no matter the cost.
This time, there would be no compromise—no forgiveness.
Paper swept around them in a blizzard of white blades.
Obito let them slice through his intangible form until a single face—cool and resolute—floated into view.
He lunged, grabbed Konan by the throat, and began to pull her into Kamui's swirl, dragging the storm with them.
But Konan had prepared everything.
Buried within the sea of paper—tens of millions of explosive tags.
Obito's eyes widened. "You wouldn't—"
BOOM!
The sea exploded skyward, waves colliding into mountains of foam.
The world went silent.
[Deidara]: "That's… a lot of tags."
[Hidan]: "Sis just spent her entire savings account!"
[Konan]: "Tch. That was just the appetizer."
[Kakuzu]: "Why do I feel uneasy…?"
[Fugaku]: "You're not even in the scene, Kakuzu."
[Sasuke]: "Their power levels aren't impressive. I could beat them if I felt like it."
[Boruto]: "Yeah sure, Sasuke-sensei… sure."
Smoke thinned.
The ocean calmed—charred paper fragments drifting like snow.
Half of Obito's mask bobbed among the debris, his cloak shredded, one arm missing.
Even Konan looked spent, breathing raggedly atop the collapsing steel pipe.
She'd meant to die together with him.
But Obito still stood.
"I underestimated you," he rasped. "You're still Akatsuki, after all."
"You should thank me," he added coldly. "You'd be dead if not for me."
[Kakashi]: "Well… at least he's polite about it."
[Obito]: "Hand over Nagato's body. I'll spare you."
[Konan]: "Never."
[Yahiko]: "So I got turned into a puppet, huh?"
[Nagato]: "Don't worry. You look great—sturdy joints."
[Orochimaru]: "So Pain was a puppet! Marvelous craftsmanship!"
At the Hokage Office, Orochimaru's tongue almost slipped out as he chuckled.
[Hiruzen]: "Rasa, are you feeling alright?"
[Rasa]: "Quite. But your ex-student is eyeing my organs, Hokage-sama."
[Orochimaru]: "Oh, don't be so dramatic, sensei~"
[Boruto]: "Sister Konan, any more trump cards?"
[Konan]: "Heh. You'll see."
[Iwabe]: "Doesn't look like she's got one."
Konan's voice hardened.
"You know why I turned from you, Obito? Why I believed in Naruto?"
"I don't care," he said flatly. "That was your foolish choice."
"Because he's light," she whispered. "And you… are shadow. Flowers cannot bloom in the dark."
Her hands trembled—but her eyes didn't.
The sea beneath Obito split open.
The world held its breath.
The water was gone—
replaced by a bottomless abyss of paper, stretching into the horizon.
[Everyone]: "WHAT—?! She cut the entire ocean in half?!"
Obito began to fall, spiraling downward.
He reached for Kamui—but Konan's papers wrapped around him like shackles.
Every single sheet was a tag.
If he warped away, he'd drag the explosion inside with him.
For once, the "man with no fear" felt real terror.
[Itachi]: "How many are there?"
[Deidara]: "Tens of millions, easy."
[Konan]: "Try six hundred billion."
[Kakuzu]: "…what did you just say?"
[Konan]: "From your bank account."
Kakuzu clutched his chest. "My savings… my sweet, precious ryo…"
[Konan]: "You can phase through matter for five minutes, right? I prepared six hundred billion tags… just for you."
"Let's see if you can stay intangible that long."
Obito froze midair. "You what—"
Konan smiled faintly. "May the paper bloom."
And the sea detonated.
A sound so loud the sky itself shattered.
From orbit, the Land of Rain lit up like a second sun.
In the real world, every pencil in Konoha's academy slipped from every student's hand.
Even the teacher stood still, chalk midair.
Six hundred billion? That wasn't a legend. It was recorded history.
[Boruto]: "S-Sarada… your clan people are… terrifying."
[Denki]: "Yeah. If Obito lived through that, he's not human anymore…"
