Chapter 25 - Chapter Twenty-three: Sky Island

A week had passed since the crew left that quiet island. The sun was high, the wind calm, and the Going Merry rocked gently across the blue waves.

Noah leaned on the railing, staring out at the endless ocean. "Man… it's been peaceful lately," he said.

"Too peaceful," Zoro muttered, yawning. "Something's bound to happen."

As if on cue, a massive shadow fell over the ship. Everyone looked up—just in time to see a giant ship falling straight from the sky!

"WHAT THE—?!" Usopp screamed, pointing.

The old wooden ship came crashing down, splashing into the sea with a thunderous boom that rocked the Merry from side to side.

Everyone clung to the railing as water sprayed into the air.

"Did… did that just fall from the sky?" Nami shouted, eyes wide.

"It sure looked like it," Sanji said, shielding his face from the water.

Luffy, grinning ear to ear, leaned forward. "COOL! A ship fell from the sky!"

Noah blinked. "Yeah… cool and terrifying."

Emma crossed her arms. "How does a ship even fall from the sky?"

Chopper clung to the mast, trembling. "Maybe it was… a ghost ship!"

"Don't say that!" Usopp yelled.

Robin, calm as ever, looked toward the wreck with curiosity. "That ship… it's from a very old era. Fascinating."

Nami was already studying her map. "If that came from above, then…"

Before she could finish, the Log Pose on her wrist began spinning wildly, its needle pointing straight up.

The crew stared at it in silence.

"…No way," Noah said. "You're telling me there's actually something up there?"

Luffy's grin widened. "Then let's go there!"

"Go where?!" Nami shouted. "Into the sky?!"

"Yep!" Luffy laughed, stretching his arms. "We're going to a island in the sky!"

Emma looked at Noah, shaking her head. "You had to pick this ship, didn't you?"

Noah sighed. "I'm starting to regret it."

The crew stared at the wreck floating nearby. It was half-sunk, the old wood creaking as waves pushed against it.

"We should check it out," Robin said calmly, already flipping open her notebook.

"Wait—what? You wanna go inside that thing?" Usopp shouted, panicking.

"Of course," Robin replied with a small smile. "Don't you want to know where it came from?"

Luffy's eyes sparkled. "Adventure time!"

Before anyone could stop him, he leapt straight into the water.

"LUFFY!" Nami screamed. "He can't even swim!"

Zoro sighed and dived in after him. "That idiot's gonna drown again."

Emma leaned over the railing, worried. "They're not coming back up!"

Noah clenched his fists, frustrated. "Damn it… I can't swim either."

Sanji smirked. "Yeah, don't make me fish you out too, Devil Fruit boy."

Under the waves, Zoro caught Luffy by the vest and hauled him upward. As they rose, he noticed something wedged in the wreck—a glass bottle glinting in the dim light. He snatched it before swimming to the surface.

Back aboard the ship, both of them coughed up seawater.

"You two are insane," Sanji muttered, tossing towels at them.

Luffy grinned proudly, holding up the bottle. "Treasure!"

Robin's eyes narrowed with interest. "May I see that?"

Luffy handed it to her without hesitation. Robin carefully unsealed the cork and slid out a rolled piece of parchment. She unrolled it gently, her eyes scanning the faded markings.

"This… isn't treasure," she said softly. "It's a map."

"A map to what?" Noah asked, stepping closer.

Robin traced a line with her finger. "The writing's old, but it clearly says… Sky Island."

"Sky Island?" Nami repeated, frowning.

Usopp's jaw dropped. "You mean… like an island in the sky? That's crazy!"

Robin smiled faintly. "Maybe. But this ship must have come from somewhere up there."

Everyone looked up. The clouds drifted lazily above them, soft and far away.

Nami checked the Log Pose again—it was still pointing straight up. "This can't be real…"

"No one knows for sure yet," Robin said. "But this is proof it exists."

Luffy's grin stretched from ear to ear. "That's it! We're going to Sky Island!"

Emma crossed her arms. "You can't just say that!"

Noah smirked. "He just did."

Usopp groaned. "We're seriously doing this again, huh?"

Luffy threw his hands in the air. "Adventure!"

As they debated, a ship approached from the horizon. A loud voice boomed across the waves.

"Who dares touch my waters?"

"Whoa… that ship is enormous!" Noah said.

"Looks like a salvage crew," Robin said.

As they got closer, a small boat launched from the huge ship toward them. Two figures leapt aboard. They looked strange — small, ape-like faces, wild hair, and clothing that made them seem like mischievous monkeys.

"Who are they?" Emma whispered.

One of them bowed dramatically. "I am Masira! And this is my brother, Shoujou!

This is the salvage zone and anything and everything sunken here belongs to me!"

Noah pushed the two brothers off the Going Merry. They splashed into the water and quickly disappeared. The crew didn't wait to see what happened next.

"Quick! Row us away!" Noah shouted.

Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, and Chopper grabbed the oars and started rowing hard. The waves rocked the ship, but they worked together and soon put distance between themselves and the brothers.

Nami sighed and leaned back against the railing. "Finally, some peace."

Noah crossed his arms. "Those guys were crazy. Who dives like that for treasure?"

"They're salvagers," Robin said, flipping a page in her book. "Men who search the sea floor for lost things."

Emma rested her chin on her hand. "Weird job."

Nami pulled out the Eternal Log Pose. "This points to a place called Jaya," she said.

Noah looked at her. "Where did you get that?"

"I just stole it from those two morons awhile ago," Nami said, shrugging.

Robin closed her book slowly. "Jaya… that name sounds familiar."

"You know it?" Noah asked.

"I read about it once," Robin said. "In an old book about a man named Montblanc Noland. He claimed he found a city of gold on the island of Jaya four hundred years ago. But no one believed him. People called him 'Noland the Liar.'"

Usopp's eyes widened. "A city of gold?!"

Luffy jumped. "Gold! Treasure!"

Sanji sighed. "Don't get your hopes up, captain."

Emma smiled a little. "Still, sounds like fun."

Noah nodded. "If it's connected to that ship that fell from the sky, maybe we'll find something useful."

Nami checked the Log Pose. "Then Jaya it is."

Emma leaned toward Noah. "Think we'll get to Jaya without any more trouble?"

Noah smiled. "With us on deck? Trouble finds us anyway."

They all looked at Luffy, who was grinning like a fool. "Can't wait to see what's up there!"
