Chapter 236 - Miss Apothecary

"Not bad, you are all very gentlemanly, which I am very pleased about."

The Captain paced back and forth in front of them with his hands behind his back: "How about this, gentlemen, you all move outside. You can sleep on the beach, sleep on the rocks, and let Miss Natalie sleep alone in the shack. What do you think of my idea?"

Quincy pointed at the Wave Breaker: "We can sleep on the ship."

"Apparently not."

Ken Angus said with a smile: "Because of certain training programs, I require you to stay on the island, so, tell me your choice?"

Frank said nothing, tidied his slightly loose coat, and ducked into the shack.

Lex knew that the Captain had arranged this intentionally and would not change his mind, so he gave up his original idea and was the second to enter the shack after Frank.

The shack had no floor, no beds, and the ground was soft, fine sand. There were no windows, no private washroom, no bathroom; it was incredibly rudimentary.

Only after Natalie arrived did the Captain walk in, hands behind his back, and say: "You will be a team, and I need you to develop tacit agreement as quickly as possible. I don't have time for you to slowly get used to each other. Therefore, keeping you in a cage, ahem, in one room, will help foster tacit agreement."

Ken stroked his stubbly chin: "Furthermore, you have already joined Black Sail, and you should understand our enemies, the situation on the Sea, and secret organizations you might encounter."

"I don't want my subordinates to one day send themselves into the enemy's lair due to ignorance."

As he spoke, the Boatswain and several Sailors walked in, placing several suitcases on the ground.

Ken picked his ear with his finger and said: "Inside are various materials, all of which are within your current confidentiality Rank. Use these next few days to read them carefully."

Having finished speaking, the Captain turned to leave.

Quincy stepped forward and said: "Captain, what about our training? When does it start?"

Ken turned his head, deliberately showing a surprised expression: "Hasn't it already started? From the moment you stepped into this shack, the training had already begun. I thought you would know, Mr. Quincy."

Quincy's expression stiffened, while Lex connected many things.

Is this training mainly to train our tacit agreement?

That's not right.

It shouldn't be that simple.

If it's just to train tacit agreement and coordination among members, it could be practiced on the ship.

The Captain's arrangement must have another purpose.

"Enjoy this coming week. Believe me, you will miss this time later."

Waving his hand, Ken and the Boatswain and others walked out of the shack.

"Alright, everyone. If you don't object, I hope this corner can be mine." Natalie walked to the deepest part of the room and used her small calfskin boots to draw a 'line' on the ground.

"The doorway is mine." Quincy took out a blanket and spread it directly on the sand by the door.

Next, Lex and the other two also allocated their 'territories'.

After laying out his blanket, Lex opened one of the suitcases, took out a dossier about secret organizations, and prepared to read it.

Suddenly, he smelled a faint fragrance and realized that Natalie had, at some point, come over with a magnifying glass. This magnifying glass had an unusually ornate golden handle, adorned with tiny gems and some mysterious symbols.

"Hmm, hmm. Mr. Lex, the hidden dangers in your body are not small." The girl, wearing a light yellow gauze hat today, said in all seriousness.

Lex said disbelievingly: "I don't think there are any hidden dangers in my body."

"Don't you believe a doctor's judgment?"

But aren't you a surgeon? And hidden dangers Admirally can't be seen with a magnifying glass, right?

"On the surface, you seem quite healthy, but in reality, you have some injuries that haven't been completely treated. They look like they've healed, but in fact, they've left quite a few hidden dangers."

"For example, your abdomen, it should have been pierced by a sharp object."

Natalie bent down, the magnifying glass placed over Lex's lower abdomen, the exact spot where he was pierced by shattered carriage fragments when the Intis military attaché's fireball exploded in Backlund that day!

Lex was stunned for a moment, looking seriously at the girl: "Anything else?"

Natalie then used the magnifying glass to examine Lex's left forearm back and forth: "This area should have been impacted by an explosion; there are signs of muscle tearing. Although it has healed, there are still significant hidden dangers."

Then Natalie pointed out several other hidden danger spots on Lex's body, all of which were locations where he had been injured. At this point, Lex completely believed her.

"Miss Natalie, can you treat these hidden dangers?"

Natalie put down the magnifying glass in her hand, smiling innocently, beautifully, and adorably: "Of course, I can. Don't forget, I am a Apothecary."

She walked back to her spot, opened her suitcase, and took out a test tube.

"Drink it."

Natalie handed the test tube to Lex. Lex took it and saw a dull green liquid inside, bubbling occasionally, looking very suspicious.

He almost wanted to take out his Seer coin to confirm it, but Natalie snatched it away, twisted open the stopper, and poured a small sip into her own mouth.

"Don't worry, it's not poisonous."

Lex took it back awkwardly and said: "I just think its color is a bit scary."

After speaking, he poured all the liquid from the test tube into his mouth.

So bitter!

For a moment, Lex almost wanted to spit it out. However, after drinking the liquid, the bitterness in his mouth gradually turned sweet, and his whole body felt like it was soaking in a hot spring, an indescribable comfort.

A moment later, Lex felt much lighter and his limbs became stronger.

"How do you feel?" Natalie smiled at Lex.

"Very good. So, my hidden dangers are gone?"

"It's not that fast; it will take at least a week, but I guarantee it won't leave any lasting problems." As she spoke, Natalie extended her hand.

Lex unhesitatingly grasped Natalie's hand: "That's great! With Miss Natalie around in the future, we don't have to worry about getting injured."

"That's right, but," Natalie forcefully pulled her hand back, "I'm not extending my hand to express friendship. The raw materials for what you just drank cost me a lot of money. I won't charge you for the production fee, but you should at least pay me for the materials, right?"

It's not free?

Lex chuckled: "No problem, how much should I pay you for the materials?"

Natalie said with a bright smile: "Not much, just 2 pounds."

"…" Lex looked at the test tube in his hand, and thoughts popped into his mind.

I just drank 2 pounds?

2 pounds, I could buy a bottle of good white wine!

Finally, Lex counted out two 1-pound banknotes and handed them to Natalie, saying with force and solemnity: "It's worth the price!"

Then Lex looked at the others: "I suggest you also let Miss Natalie examine you."

I absolutely cannot be the only one to suffer a loss!
