Chapter 237 - Mr. World

Miss Apothecary circled around, and after selling a few relatively cheap healing potions, she returned to her spot contentedly, humming an unknown folk song and gradually setting out some potion-making tools.

Suddenly, Quincy, who had been lying by the door, sat up and rushed out of the makeshift house. He then started yelling outside: "What are they doing? Where are they going? Hey, what's wrong with you guys!"

The situation sounded off, and the others couldn't sit still anymore, so they successively came out of the makeshift house. They saw the Wavebreaker sailing away on the sea, having abandoned them and left?

Lex and the others looked at each other, unable to figure out what was going on.

Then they heard Frank say: "He left us two barrels of clean water."

Two large wooden barrels were placed on the beach, but besides that, there was nothing else.

Natalie lifted her skirt and rushed to the seaside, screaming at the Wavebreaker: "Ken Angus, you liar, big-mouth, bastard, scumbag! You told me I could shower on the ship every night, that's why I got off!"

"Ah, damn it, I'll curse you!"

Edward gave a bitter smile: "If we conserve these two barrels of water, they should last about a week. But we can't shower or wash; we can only use them for drinking."

"And food," Frank said in a low voice, "Does anyone have anything to eat?"

The answer was, of course, no. Who would have thought the captain would sail the ship away? Was wilderness survival also one of the training objectives?

Lex first looked at the sea and then at Quincy: "Perhaps you can bring us some fish?"

"Of course I can."

Quincy pointed to the mountains behind: "However, aren't you also a hunter? A hunter should be able to find us some food in the mountains, right?"

Lex turned back and glanced at the undulating mountains: "If there are wild beasts up there, it won't be a big problem."

"It looks like we'll have to live on this deserted island for a week."

Lex said to the pirate ship, which hadn't completely sunk yet: "Edward, Frank, go look on the pirate ship and see if there's anything we can use. Food, wine, anything."

"Also, we'd best build a simple washroom by the sea. This is for hygiene and to prevent us from living like a bunch of beasts."

"As for food, Quincy and I will figure something out."

As he spoke, Lex slapped his forehead: "I didn't expect this situation and didn't bring many bullets. Does anyone have any bullets for me?"

"Can't you set up some traps? At a time like this, don't waste bullets." With that, Quincy took off his shirt and found a sufficiently thick branch under a nearby palm tree.

He pulled a dagger from behind his waist, sharpened the tip, tested it, and once it felt right, he walked towards the sea, ready to go fishing.

After Lex also got some bullets from Edward, he walked behind the beach. Behind the beach was a small grove, and as he walked, the terrain began to rise. Soon, Lex had entered a mountain forest.

He didn't rush to hunt. He first listened carefully and, hearing birds chirping from time to time in the forest, he immediately felt relieved.

Even without wild beasts, if he could catch forest birds, he could roast and eat them.

Just like that.

Time passed bit by bit.

Unconsciously, it was already around three in the afternoon.

At this moment.

Lex was hiding in a clump of bushes. In the clearing ahead, a brightly feathered wild chicken was moving about, and just in front of that chicken was a trap Lex had set.

Just as the wild chicken was about to enter the trap, crimson appeared before his eyes, instantly engulfing Lex.

"No, just a little more. Damn it!"

As Lex howled, he found himself in the magnificent palace where dense, grey-white mist drifted. He was currently squatting on the ground, and in front of him, sitting in a row, having just come online, was the 'Hanged Man', his figure tinged with a faint red.

The atmosphere immediately became very awkward.

The 'Hanged Man' cleared his throat: "Chariot, what is this…"

At the head of the mottled bronze long table, Klein, enveloped in dense, grey-white mist, almost couldn't control his expression. He stared in astonishment at Lex, who was squatting on the ground, thoughts bubbling up like air bubbles.

Is Chariot using the washroom? If so, that would truly be a massive public embarrassment.

No.

Chariot doesn't seem like someone so thoughtless. His posture looks like he's ambushing prey?

Is he in combat?

Klein immediately shielded the others and, in Fool's tone, calmly said: "If you are currently in combat, I can send you back."

I am indeed in 'combat,' but not the kind you're thinking of.

Lex cleared his throat, slowly stood up, and first bowed slightly towards the head of the long table with his hand on his chest: "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Fool. But it's alright, I can attend the gathering."

I have scouted the surroundings and can confirm that there are no dangerous wild beasts or extraordinary species on the mountain. At most, I'll just lie in the bushes for another hour or two.

"Alright then."

And at this moment, Audrey, who always had a sense of proprietorship, was greeting every member of the Tarot Club.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Fool~"

"Good afternoon…"

She suddenly stopped, not only because Mr. Chariot was strangely squatting on the ground, but also because a figure had appeared at the end of the long table on her side.

It was a stranger in a hooded black robe. His figure was also illusory and hazy, and similarly tinged with a faint red.

"Who is this?" Audrey looked at Mr. Fool with both confusion and delight.

Has our Tarot Club gained a new member? This is truly wonderful, we are rapidly growing!

Who could it be?

Fors?

It doesn't seem like her, nor is itXio ; the height is significantly different. I wonder what kind of person it will be.

The others also noticed the mysterious stranger.

The 'Hanged Man' Alger unconsciously frowned, his body naturally adopting a defensive posture, while feeling a slight dissatisfaction in his heart.

The Tarot Club is expanding too quickly, isn't it?

How long has it been?

First 'Sun', then 'Chariot', and now another.

Why is that Mister so eager to add new members?

Could it be that His revival is imminent, and thus He needs more people to serve Him?

Upon thinking this, Alger's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly lowered his head, carefully concealing his thoughts.

At this moment, at the head of the long table, Klein leaned back leisurely and said: "This is a new member, Mr. World."

World?

Lex immediately remembered that the Watcher had once said that one of Klein's alter egos was 'World'!

So that's how it is.

Lex secretly smiled.

Klein creating a 'side account' in the Tarot Club was probably to have the side account handle things that Fool found inconvenient to say or requests that were difficult to make.

After all, now, he, 'Fool', was just an empty shell and needed to carefully maintain his image.

After Klein's introduction, Sun and Hanged Man successively greeted Mr. World, but received a cold response.

When it was Lex's turn, he resisted the prank of calling out 'Klein', placed his hand on his chest, and politely said: "Good afternoon, Mr. World, welcome to the Tarot Club."

"In the future, if you ever need help with anything, please don't hesitate to ask. I will certainly not refuse anything within my ability."

Mr. World is Klein. Helping him is helping Klein. Only a Fool would miss such an opportunity to gain favor with Mr. Fool!
