Chapter 324 - The Power of the Spectator

It wasn't until Richard spoke that the Medic suddenly noticed there was another man in the warehouse.

A middle-aged man in his early forties, with beautiful golden, Broken hair, a beard, wearing a stiff, straight-collared shirt, paired with a black vest and matching trousers. He wasn't in formal wear and didn't wear a top hat, looking very relaxed, as if he were strolling in his own study.

The Medic immediately became tense and agitated: "I said I would only see you alone."

Richard turned and gave the Medic a gentle smile: "Calm down, my friend. Have you forgotten that I am your old friend? So what is there to be surprised about with me being here?"

"Now, you go rest for a bit, and let me talk to Mr. Rayleigh for a few minutes, okay?"

The Medic's eyes became dazed and unfocused. He nodded without objection: "Of course."

Lex was secretly alarmed.

This should be hypnosis, right?

Is this the 'power' of an 'Spectator'? Can they turn enemies into friends through hypnosis?

This is too terrifying!

Richard turned around and smiled; "That's why we're friends, you understand me so well, Duke."

"The condition is simple: I want half of that main materials. Of course, you can pay in pounds. How about it?"

"That's too much," Lex immediately responded, "In fact, having an additional Medic companion doesn't help me much, and if I get injured, I have my own channels for treatment."

He thought of Miss Apothecary.

"So, even if he sells me after getting off the ship, it won't affect me much. But a Sequence 5 main materials is worth at least four or five thousand pounds, right? Losing two thousand pounds for a not-so-important future companion is too uneconomical for me."

"Besides the reward I promised earlier, I'll pay you an additional 500 pounds. If you think that's acceptable, then I'll take this deal."

Richard looked stunned: "Honestly, your bargaining reminds me of my mother, a lovely woman. 500 pounds is too little, at least 1000 pounds, I think that would be reasonable enough."

Lex gave a dry laugh: "Then I'd rather not have this companion; he's just a Medic. He can't treat major injuries, and I can handle minor ones myself."

Richard said with a headache: "How about this, 700 pounds. But I have an additional condition: now that your threat has been removed, I want to end the commission early, but you must settle the payment for the remaining two days with me."

Lex snapped his fingers: "Deal."

He also didn't want to take too much advantage of Richard; after all, he was an 'Spectator'. If Richard really wanted that money, he wouldn't need to bargain with him.

Since the other party was negotiating with him in a normal manner, then necessary concessions should be made.

Richard nodded, walked towards the Medic, and snapped his fingers: "Look at me, Polly."

The Medic looked up blankly, staring at Richard.

"Listen, Polly. You are Rayleigh's friend, you have a deep friendship, you've known each other since childhood. Perhaps you've forgotten, but if you just recall a little, you'll remember that he was always present in your past life."

"You've fought together, watched women bathe together, you've done many, many things together. Even if you can't remember these things clearly, you can still feel them."

"This time, you cooperated with Rayleigh, which is why you stayed by Charles's side as a Medic. It was because of the information you provided that Rayleigh was able to hunt them successfully."

"You are that close, so close that you wouldn't even think of betraying him. After all, even someone as naturally aloof as you only has Rayleigh as a close friend."

"Remember these words I've said, and when you hear me snap my fingers later, you will forget my existence, my words. I am a non-existent person in your life."

"As for what I just said, those are reflections in your subconscious. You are just someone who keeps things in your heart but doesn't speak them out loud."

After speaking, Richard snapped his fingers, then said to Lex: "When do you want to settle the bill?"

"Tomorrow morning."

The musician smiled slightly, turned and left.

A moment later, the Medic's eyes regained their sparkle and focus. He looked up at Lex, his expression still aloof, but he said: "So, it's all over?"

"It's over, you did very well. You just mentioned you have Sandy's Paths potion formula and a main materials that Charles managed to get?" Lex tried asking.

The Medic nodded, stood up, and went behind the sofa. He removed the back of the sofa and took out a box from inside. The Medic opened the box, and inside was a crystal bottle, with a faint glow like dust floating within, constantly outlining various strange colors of light.

Unfortunately, the crystal bottle was not transparent, so Lex couldn't see the true appearance of the object inside.

"This is 'Dust of Ancient Grudges'," the Medic closed the box and handed it to Lex, "As for the Weapon Master formula, it's here."

He pointed to his head.

"I'll copy it for you later. So now that Charles has been hunted by you, what are your plans next?"

The Medic seemed to genuinely regard Lex as a close friend, sitting down in an unguarded posture and looking at Lex.

Lex sat down beside him and said: "After arriving in Bayam, I will be away for a while. I have something to cooperate with Iceberg Admiral on, and if nothing unexpected happens, I will stay on the Golden Dream for a period of time."

"During this time, perhaps you can stay in Bayam and open a clinic. You can help me keep an eye out for someone named Raditz; he is a member of the Iron and Blood Cross Order."

"If you have any news of him, or know where he is, do not take any action; just inform me."

The Medic looked at him: "Just like before?"

Lex smiled somewhat guiltily: "Just like before!"

The Medic shrugged: "No problem. I happen to be staying to inquire about the Harvest Priest's potion formula. I heard from Charles that there's a Fragrant Leaf Tavern in Bayam where Beyonder often gather, and many pirates, informants, and Adventurers are active. It's the top choice for gathering intelligence and purchasing materials."

Lex remembered this information. He thought for a moment and took out Sandy's characteristic: "You can sell this thing, and then I'll give you another 500 pounds. That way, if the formula you want appears, you can buy it immediately."

"Once I sell this Sequence 5 main materials, I'll give you another thousand pounds, which should be enough for you to advance to Sequence 7."

The Medic nodded: "That's enough."

Lex stood up, winked, and said: "Well then, let's go. You wouldn't want to stay in a place like this, would you?"
