Chapter 6 - New world

I woke up feeling an immense, unbearable pain in my stomach. My vision is also blurry. I tried my best to stand up, but all I could manage was to sit myself up on a nearby wall and sit there until I could muster enough strength to get up. It wasn't long until I noticed just how much I was bleeding from my lower abdomen. I took one glance to see the blood coming from where I originally thought it was from the injury of bombing myself by accident, but then how am I still alive?

No!!!

It's not possible. I died, for crying out loud, but then again, maybe I'm in heaven. Yeah, that's it. That's why I still have my body intact. After all, that's the only explanation I could think of right now... after getting blown to bits

After what seemed like hours of half-unconsciousness, I managed to stop the bleeding by tearing off some cloth I was wearing. It seemed a tad bit old, worn out, and dirty for a place like heaven, but I brushed it off, thinking it must've been some kind of error in the system, so I went on about my day, standing up and walking like nothing happened, and yet people passing by from mixed hierarchies were staring at me weirdly as if I had committed a murder, but I ignored it, thinking, "Maybe they're not used to seeing someone so young here." I shook my head three times before stopping in front of an infirmary.

"Finally a place where I can get properly treated and maybe get some answers about where I am."

I step inside the first room; I see many patients here, some sick, others picking up prescriptions. The place was a little outdated, not what I was expecting from a heavenly place in the sky. Oh well, I can't be picky about the higher-ups' tastes. It really didn't matter to me how the place looked. if the woods creaked with every step and the entire place smelled like death. It's normal for an infirmary, right? I shrug my shoulder with a sigh before moving on to look for a room that performs surgery.

"GIRGLE."

Gosh, I'm so hungry. In a time like this, I can't believe my stomach right now. Despite the big wound, I was still hungry?? I had to hold onto my aching stomach from the pain of hunger and the hole in my abdomen, looking down, thinking of all the delicious foods my family would be cooking right now, like turkey, steak, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, noodles, chow mein, and more—all those glorious foods, and I couldn't have any. My family must be worried about me, even saddened that I passed away. I miss them dearly as well. I hope everyone is doing well; else my heart couldn't take such pressure knowing it's my fault for putting them in that situation of grief.

"Mmm."

I lifted my head up to see how far I've reached in the infirmary. I wasn't paying much attention to see where I was going, but as luck would have it, I actually made it to a room that looks like it'd help, and for that I didn't hesitate to open the door. I held onto the golden knob that was slightly rusted, and with all my might, I held it tight and pulled the door open. I must admit, for a small infirmary room, the door was pretty sturdy and so gosh darn heavy it was a door of steel, but I still managed to push my way in and pry the doors open. I mean, did they honestly need such a heavy door?

"BAM."

With the strength I used to open the door, I lost balance and fell flat on my face, potentially breaking my nose in the process. I let out a small grumble, wincing in pain at my still injured abdomen and now a broken nose, as a woman who was typing on a small portable laptop turned around slowly and looked down at me with a friendly smile.

Ah, and you are?
