Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

So, after each Time Stop, he was at most 110 meters away from Sylvie, a distance Sylvie could almost instantly cross with the speed she had just displayed.

"Everyone be careful, we shouldn't be far from the nest now." Sylvie reminded her teammates, her gaze warily scanning her surroundings.

The four carefully approached the Goblin nest.

The surrounding trees were dense, blocking most of the sunlight, making the nest area appear somewhat dim.

They arrived at the nest entrance, and the sight before them astonished everyone.

Inside the nest was a scene of utter chaos, with numerous Goblin corpses lying haphazardly on the ground.

These vile monsters now lay on the ground, their bodies stained with dried blood.

Sylvie crouched down and carefully examined a Goblin corpse.

She found that these Goblins had died in an exceptionally brutal manner; some of their bodies were disfigured from being trampled.

But more of them had been stabbed to death, with a large hole in their back.

It looked as if they had been violently impaled by a large, muscular object.

"What… what exactly happened?" Sylvie stood up, her expression subtle. Goblins were notoriously vicious, sparing no female creatures.

Now, they had all been * *.

Chapter 12: Cruelty

Sylvie's expression was strange as she looked at Will. As a mage, one needed to learn all sorts of knowledge, and undoubtedly, this Prince was the team's knowledge base.

"Uh…" Will's expression was equally subtle: "As far as I know, Goblins Will violate any female of any race. Trolls also occasionally prey on Goblins, but… violating Goblins, I have never seen any records of that."

Sylvie then looked at Chris, who shook her head. Violating Goblins, and male ones at that, was indeed a bit too extreme.

Sylvie finally looked at Karl, pointing to a dead Goblin on the ground. It had been impaled from behind, and judging by the wound, the weapon had exited through its mouth.

"Karl, is this what you wanted us to see?"

Karl did not immediately answer. He was also confused. The Kushooru creature he saw last night, after merging with a Centaur, was a bit grotesque due to having no face.

But its figure was absolutely top-notch, at least an F-cup, and it didn't have male genitalia.

Karl smiled mysteriously, remaining silent.

Seeing this, Sylvie dared not press further and could only discuss with Will and Chris.

Will crouched down, carefully examining the Goblin corpses on the ground and the surrounding battle traces.

After a thorough observation, his brows furrowed.

"From these signs, the battle likely took place last night."

"These Goblins, overwhelmed by the attack, had their Goblin King and Great Goblins choose to flee. They probably intended to hunt by the stream and unexpectedly encountered us."

Will's gaze returned to the ground, and he pointed to some blurry footprints, saying, "From these footprints, only Goblins and a hoofed creature appeared here. Could it be a Unicorn? At least a Unicorn appeared here once."

Chris shook her head: "Most Unicorns are raised by elves. A small number of Unicorns encountering Goblins, whether male or female, become objects of Goblin violation."

"This is also the strange part." Will frowned deeply: "There are only footprints of these two creatures here."

He pointed towards the depths of the forest: "From the tracks, they went in that direction."

As he spoke, his gaze occasionally darted towards Karl, his expression wary, yet seemingly anticipating a response from Karl.

Sylvie also waited for a while, seeing that Karl remained silent: "Let's go, we'll continue tracking. Since we've already come this far, we can't give up halfway."

With Sylvie's decision, the four cautiously followed the tracks.

The creatures being tracked seemingly had no intention of hiding themselves; along the way, fallen trees served as markers.

The three walked in front, each gripping their weapons vigilantly.

Karl was equally nervous. He wasn't sure if these cannon fodder he found were reliable, so he cast Time Stop, taking the smooth gem from Chris's body.

He was also worried that if they truly encountered an enemy, it would affect her combat ability.

When he took it out, his hand got wet.

Karl's expression was subtle. This Saintess was unexpectedly moist. Claiming her soul was pure and sacred, wasn't this rather dishonest?

Chris instantly felt the gem inside her body disappear, a hollow feeling, knowing that Karl had stopped time again.

However, this time, there were no other unusual sensations in her body.

Chris was accustomed to the gem; its sudden disappearance caused her to walk a bit strangely.

"Hmph."

She snorted coldly, gritting her teeth, and adjusted her walking posture.

They searched for several kilometers.

Suddenly, a distant, mournful shriek faintly reached them.

"Be careful." Sylvie warned in a low voice, gripping her greatsword tightly, and immediately rushed to the front, creating a safe distance between herself and Will and Chris.

The three formed a triangular formation, emerging from the dense woods, but when they saw the scene before them, they froze.

"What… what is this thing?!" Will's voice was incredulous, his eyes wide.

In the open clearing stood two half-human, half-horse creatures. Their appearance was utterly bizarre; they had only human upper bodies, but no faces.

The male's upper body was muscular and robust, and what shocked them most was that…

The male's abdomen actually sported a horse whip at least a meter long.

The female beside him had a graceful figure, with a bust size of at least F and alluring curves, extremely enticing.

On the ground lay the bodies of two Adventurers, their equipment scattered.

A frail Adventurer was currently impaled from behind by that rod-like weapon, suspended in mid-air, her fate unknown.

"This… is this a Centaur?" Sylvie hesitated, the sight of these faceless Centaurs clearly exceeding her understanding.

"Why is it growing in the front?" Karl's eyes were wide with a blank stare. This meter-long length and forearm-thick diameter clearly indicated that this large, muscular, faceless Centaur was the one that had impaled the Goblins.

Blood trailed down the Centaur's large, muscular weapon from behind the frail Adventurer. Seeing the group, her trembling lips could only emit a faint plea:

"Help… help me!"

The male faceless Centaur coldly flung the frail Adventurer, tossing her to the ground like a rag doll.

It thrust forward the rounded rod weapon on its abdomen, its four hooves pounding, and charged over with astonishing speed.

"Prepare for battle!" Sylvie barked, rushing directly towards it, her figure tracing a silver arc as she swung her sword at the faceless Centaur's meter-long horse whip.

However, at the moment the sword touched the whip, it suddenly began to rotate at an incredible speed, as if alive, coiling around Sylvie's greatsword.

A look of bewilderment flashed across Sylvie's face. A tremendous force emanated from the horse whip, as if trying to snatch her greatsword away.

Just then, over a dozen water arrows suddenly shot out from around them.

Will, holding his staff, launched precise and swift water arrows. The male Centaur had no time to react and was struck by the water arrows, its body instantly pierced through.

However, no blood flowed from its pierced body.

Innumerable ribbons extended from the wounds.

They danced in the air as if alive, then wrapped tightly around the wounds with astonishing speed, instantly healing them, as if no damage had ever occurred.

The male Centaur, having been attacked, released Sylvie's greatsword.

Its faceless, menacing visage turned towards Will, and it charged forward, thrusting its horse whip.

Karl had been calmly observing the battle. He had roughly discerned the Centaur's strength, which was approximately Tier 4.

His gaze inadvertently flickered to the female Centaur beside it. This was the Unicorn he had watched transform last night, from beginning to end.

She stood there silently, her provocatively exaggerated breasts prominent.

She made no movement, and this abnormal silence drew Karl's attention.

Chris stared intently at the Centaur, her hands clasped, preparing to chant a defensive spell.

"No need, I'll test its magic resistance." Will, however, waved her off, signaling her not to act for now.

He had also judged from their previous skirmish that the male Centaur's strength was not great, and its attack method was singular, simply charging head-on, posing no significant threat.

Will raised his staff, preparing to meet the male Centaur's charge.

Karl, meanwhile, narrowed his eyes. He still needed more experiments.

At this moment, the time of the entire world was stopped.

The male Centaur was unaffected by Time Stop, maintaining its charging posture, and instantly circled behind Will, thrusting its horse whip.

Karl immediately released Time Stop.

Chapter 13: Evil God

Will was preparing to use a magic defense. The male Centaur, thrusting its horse whip, charged towards him, but the next second, the Centaur in front of him suddenly vanished.

He froze for a moment.

"Behind you!" Sylvie yelled, gripping her longsword, and quickly rushed over.

Will immediately realized the danger. He was about to cast a defensive spell but suddenly felt a chill down his spine.

A powerful force suddenly struck him from behind, causing his entire body to lose balance and be lifted by this force.

"How brutal." Karl pouted, watching the forearm-thick horse whip directly pierce Will's body from behind.

This was likely the Prince's first time.

Sylvie, at this moment, had already leaped into the air. Gripping her longsword with both hands, she swung it diagonally downwards, and a dazzling sword light flashed.

The male Centaur's upper body was instantly split into two halves, falling to the ground.

Sylvie landed on the ground and quickly tried to remove Will from the horse whip.

"Be… be careful, he can teleport." Will gritted his teeth, showing his toughness, enduring the impalement.

No sooner had he spoken.

Innumerable fine threads suddenly emerged from the cut surfaces of the male Centaur, which had been split in two, weaving together like a spiderweb.

Seeing this, Sylvie's heart tightened. Disregarding everything else, she firmly gripped Will and pulled hard.

In the instant before the male Centaur fully recovered.

She pulled Will off the horse whip that had impaled his body.

Blood gushed like a spring from Will's wound, staining his magnificent robe.

Chris clasped her hands together, and a soft light emanated from her palms, enveloping Will's wound.

"Retreat." Sylvie decisively gave the order.

Facing an unknown creature that could teleport and revive, she had no confidence, let alone in defeating it, but even in escaping. She only hoped her sacrifice would buy her companions time to flee.

Sylvie raised her longsword, its tip pointing at the already recovered male Centaur.

"Sylvie!" Chris exclaimed in surprise, immediately realizing Sylvie intended to sacrifice herself to buy them time. They could never be a match for an enemy that could teleport.

Chris instinctively looked at Karl. She knew that at this moment, only Karl could save them.

Karl's tall figure suddenly moved. He slowly walked towards the newly recovered male Centaur.

Seeing Karl make a move, seemingly intending to help her deal with the enemy, Sylvie instinctively relaxed. If anyone could defeat this unknown creature…

It was probably only the more powerful Karl.

As soon as Sylvie relaxed, she felt ashamed of herself. Karl was the murderer of her parents, yet she felt relieved that he was willing to act.

Karl approached the male Centaur step by step. The moment he drew its attention, time around them was stopped.

He had his own considerations for acting now.

Sylvie and her group were already preparing to retreat. If they continued to fight, they might discover that this male Centaur did not possess the so-called spatial transfer ability.

At that point, even he might be suspected by Chris.

After previous observation and analysis, he had already figured out this Centaur's strength; it was merely Tier 4.

Everyone lacked skills; the only tricky part was its immortality.
