Cael never wanted things to take the wrong turn.
When he decided to look for Soren, the plan in his head had been simple.
Find him, stand in front of him and apologize without force, pressure and authority behind his words. Just something honest. If Soren chose to walk away, then he would let him. That was what he told himself.
From the very beginning, that was the plan and what he wanted to believe but sitting now at the edge of the bed, staring at Soren's quiet, unmoving figure, Cael could no longer pretend that things had gone the way he intended.
Because Soren didn't come with him by choice.
Realizing that, a slow breath left Cael as he dragged a hand over his face as if trying to ease the pressure building inside his head.
"Haa… fuck…" The word slipped out low and tired but it did nothing to help.
If anything, it only made things clearer that he had already crossed the line—
again.
