Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Letters of Destiny

The summer morning at Valvas Mansion began like any other — sunlight streaming through the tall windows, the soft rustling of enchanted curtains, and the faint melody of birdsong from the gardens below.

Roy sat by his desk, deep in thought, writing notes about a new potion formula — until a sharp tapping sound drew his attention. At the window, a majestic owl hovered, carrying a thick envelope sealed with crimson wax.

Roy smiled faintly, already knowing what it was.

He opened the window, letting the owl glide in gracefully. It dropped the letter on his desk, along with two others addressed in elegant handwriting. As soon as he broke the seal, the golden crest of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry gleamed up at him.

"Dear Mr. Valvas,We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry…"

He read the words with quiet pride — not with surprise, but with a feeling of completion. His path as a wizard, both from his old world and this one, had reached the next step.

Moments later, two owls arrived for Daphne Greengrass and Cassandra Vole, each carrying identical letters. The mansion filled with excitement and chatter as the girls read their invitations aloud.

Only Astoria Greengrass remained quiet — her expression caught between happiness and envy.

"You'll join us next year, Astoria," Roy said softly, kneeling to meet her gaze."And when you do, I'll be there waiting to welcome you."

Astoria's cheeks puffed slightly in protest, but her eyes softened.

"You promise?""I swear on my phoenix flame," Roy replied with a gentle smile.

Behind them, however, another storm of jealousy brewed quietly.

Grayfia Lucifuge, Venelana Bael, Albedo, Rem, Ram, Nagini, and Bela White stood nearby — their expressions perfectly calm… at least on the surface.

Albedo crossed her arms.

"So, they get to follow you to Hogwarts while we stay here?"

Grayfia sighed with her usual composed smile.

"Perhaps it's time we prepared to manage Valvas Group while our little master enjoys student life."

Rem whispered to Ram, "Do you think Hogwarts will have rooms big enough for all of us if we sneak in?"Ram smirked. "If not, I'll enlarge them myself."

Roy could only chuckle.

"You'll all visit soon enough. Hogwarts is just another chapter — not the end of our story."

A Trip to Diagon Alley

A week later, Daphne, Astoria, Cassandra, Roy, and Grayfia set out for Diagon Alley to buy their school supplies. The cobblestone street was as lively as ever — lined with bustling shops, glittering displays, and the aroma of roasted nuts and parchment ink.

It was there that they encountered Professor McGonagall, speaking with a young girl about their age — a girl with wild brown hair, sharp eyes, and a stack of books already in her arms.

"Ah, Mr. Valvas," said McGonagall, her tone polite but tinged with recognition. "I've heard much about your family.""All good things, I hope," Roy replied lightly, bowing slightly.

The professor's lips twitched into the faintest smile.

"Mostly good. Mr. Valvas, this is Hermione Granger, one of your new classmates."

Hermione offered a polite smile.

"Nice to meet you, Roy. And these are your friends?"

"Yes — Daphne Greengrass, Cassandra Vole, and my younger friend Astoria. And this is my guardian, Grayfia Lucifuge."

McGonagall's gaze lingered on Grayfia — her beauty and aura too striking to ignore.Grayfia simply curtsied, her tone graceful.

"A pleasure, Professor."

The Wand That Would Not Choose

Their next stop was Ollivander's Wand Shop, the ancient store filled with dust and the scent of old magic.

Daphne and Cassandra each took their turns, finding wands that responded beautifully to their magic.Even Hermione's wand glowed warmly the moment she held it — a clear sign of perfect compatibility.

Then it was Roy's turn.

Ollivander tried wand after wand — ash, ebony, yew, holly — yet none reacted. Not even a spark. The old wandmaker's brow furrowed in curiosity.

"Strange… very strange. Not a single wand recognizes you, young man."

Roy only smiled slightly. He already understood why.

Reaching into his coat, he took out a dark phoenix feather — shimmering faintly with gold and black flame — and a crystalline dragon scale, glowing faintly blue.

"Mr. Ollivander, could you make a wand using these two materials?"

The old man's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Th-this scale… from a dragon?"

"My dragon," Roy replied calmly. "Her name is Dvalin."

Hermione nearly dropped her books.

"You have a dragon!?"

Before she could continue, Astoria proudly spoke,

"Not just any dragon — a Storm Dragon! She's amazing!"

Even McGonagall was momentarily speechless, though she quickly regained composure.

"I suppose… exceptional students require exceptional wands."

Ollivander bowed deeply.

"It would be my honor to craft such a wand. Come back in one week, Mr. Valvas. I shall ensure it is worthy of you."

Books, Charms, and Promises

Afterward, they visited Flourish and Blotts, purchasing textbooks, cauldrons, parchment, and a few extra items Roy secretly infused with light enchantments for protection.

When everything was ready, Hermione and McGonagall prepared to leave.Hermione looked at Roy curiously.

"When your wand is finished… could I meet your dragon sometime?"

Roy nodded with a calm smile.

"Of course. Dvalin likes meeting people who love learning."

As they waved goodbye, Astoria clung gently to Roy's sleeve.

"You'll write to me every week, right?"

Roy smiled, patting her head.

"Every week, without fail."

And with that, the future shimmered before them —the start of a new era at Hogwarts, where Roy Valvas, the boy of two worlds, would soon make his mark.
