The morning of the first official Quidditch match arrived with a sky of bright, perfect blue. Excitement buzzed through the Hogwarts grounds as banners of yellow and bronze waved proudly across the stands—Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw, the opening match of the season.
Roy stood at the edge of the pitch in his crisp Hufflepuff robes, Nimbus broom in hand, golden sunlight glinting off his silver-white hair. His eyes—blue like diamonds—reflected the thrill of competition.
Ethan, the team captain, clapped him on the shoulder. "You ready, Roy?"Roy grinned. "Always."
Across the field, the Ravenclaw team lined up, their blue robes rippling in the wind. At their center stood Cho Chang, the youngest Ravenclaw Seeker—slim, graceful, and determined.
Roy walked over with his usual calm confidence, extending a hand. "Good luck out there, Cho."Cho smiled warmly. "You too, Roy. Let's make it a good match.""Of course," he said with a playful glint in his eye. "Try not to get too distracted when I'm scoring goals."Her cheeks tinted pink. "We'll see who's distracted when I catch the Snitch first."
Madam Hooch's whistle sliced through the air. "Mount your brooms! On my count—three… two… one… Go!"
The players shot into the sky like streaks of light. The crowd erupted as the Quaffle soared into play.
"AND THEY'RE OFF!" Lee Jordan's voice echoed through the stands. "Ravenclaw takes possession—no, stolen by Hufflepuff's new Chaser, Roy Valvas! Look at him move—Merlin, he's fast!"
Roy zipped past two Ravenclaw Chasers, spun around a Bludger, and launched the Quaffle straight through the right hoop.
"HUFFLEPUFF SCORES! Ten points to Hufflepuff!"
The stands roared. Roy didn't slow down. Every pass he made was clean, every shot precise. Within ten minutes, Hufflepuff had already stacked 60 points, all from Roy's dazzling plays and sharp teamwork with Lina and Ethan.
On the ground, Professor Sprout cheered like a proud mother. Professor Flitwick, meanwhile, clapped politely but muttered, "Oh dear… Ravenclaw needs to tighten their defense."
By halftime, Hufflepuff was dominating: 150 to 30. Roy's flying was almost unreal—he weaved through the air like he could predict every movement seconds before it happened.
But while the crowd chanted "ROY! ROY! ROY!", Cho Chang's sharp eyes were locked elsewhere—scanning, hunting, calculating.
As the second half began, a flash of gold flickered near the Ravenclaw goalposts.
Cedric Diggory, Hufflepuff's Seeker, immediately dove after it, his broom cutting through the air. But Cho was faster—she leaned forward, her hair streaming behind her, every ounce of focus on that tiny golden ball.
The crowd held their breath.
"Cho Chang is in pursuit! Diggory right behind her—this could end the game!"
Roy, spotting the chase, quickly intercepted a Ravenclaw Chaser and scored another goal to keep Hufflepuff ahead. The crowd exploded again—Hufflepuff 200, Ravenclaw 180!
Then—SNAP! Cho's fingers closed around the Snitch.
Madam Hooch blew her whistle. "RAVENCLAW CATCHES THE SNITCH! 150 points to Ravenclaw!"
The scoreboard flashed:Hufflepuff – 200Ravenclaw – 180
Hufflepuff wins!
The stands erupted. Cheers shook the air, yellow banners waving wildly as the Hufflepuff players swarmed the field.
Ethan grabbed Roy in a bear hug. "We did it! You were brilliant out there!"Roy laughed. "You weren't half bad yourself, captain."
After the match, as the crowd began to disperse, Roy spotted Cho near the Ravenclaw tent, holding the Snitch in her hand. He walked over, smiling.
"Nice catch out there," he said. "That dive was impressive—even I couldn't keep up."Cho looked up and smiled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "You were amazing, Roy. I've never seen anyone score that many goals in one match."Roy smirked lightly. "So, I guess it's a draw between us—you caught the Snitch, I scored the points.""Except your team won," Cho said with a laugh.
Roy leaned a bit closer, teasingly. "Then next time, I'll make it harder for you to focus on the Snitch."Her face flushed a soft pink. "You wish," she said, playfully swatting his arm. "Next time, I'll beat you for sure."
He grinned. "I'll be waiting, Cho Chang."
As she walked away, clutching the Snitch, Roy watched her go—smiling to himself.
That evening, the Great Hall buzzed with energy."Roy Valvas, the Silver Streak of Hufflepuff!" someone shouted."Did you see that third goal he made? It was impossible!"
Even some of the Slytherins nodded in quiet approval.
At the Gryffindor table, Harry smiled faintly. "He's good. Really good."Ron groaned. "Good? He's too good! If Hufflepuff's that strong, imagine what'll happen when we play them!"Hermione rolled her eyes. "Oh, don't be jealous, Ron. Roy's just… gifted."
Meanwhile, at the Ravenclaw table, Cho caught herself glancing toward the Hufflepuff section—where Roy laughed among his cheering teammates.
She smiled softly. Next time, I'll win.
