Chapter 492: Explosion! Kaido's Invincible Descent
Beep-beep-beep-beep-beep! The alert was so frantic it sounded like the device was about to explode.
He froze, stopping his finger on the trigger, and aggressively tapped the Scouter on his ear. "Is this piece of junk malfunctioning? Where did such a ridiculous number come from?"
He stared at the wildly jumping digits on the lens. It broke the ten-thousand mark and was still soaring higher.
The other aliens noticed the anomaly as well. Their Scouters were all blaring the exact same alarm. The ear-piercing beeps echoed throughout the village.
A crocodile-headed alien looked up and saw the anomaly in the sky. He pointed upward, stammering wildly.
"C-Captain! Something... something's falling from the sky!"
The purple-skinned captain looked up, following the soldier's finger. A black dot had appeared in the sky, enlarging at a terrifying speed. It was accompanied by a deafening sonic boom and an oppressive aura that made it hard to breathe. Dark red, eerie lightning arced through the air around it.
The pressure was even more intense than when they stood before the Ginyu Force.
"What the hell is that monster?"
The captain gulped, his legs turning to jelly. He could barely hold his blaster. He wanted to run, but his body refused to obey. He could only watch helplessly as the black dot swallowed his vision.
BOOM! An earth-shattering explosion ripped through the area. The ground quaked as blue dirt surged into the sky like a tsunami.
Over a dozen Frieza Force soldiers were blown away by the shockwave before they could even scream, slamming heavily into the ground hundreds of meters away. Their fates were unknown. Several mushroom-shaped houses were instantly leveled by the blast.
Dust and debris filled the air.
A moment later, the dust began to settle. A massive crater had appeared in the center of the village.
Standing at the bottom of the pit was a horned monstrosity, over seven meters tall.
Kaido rested the lightning-wreathed Hassaikai back on his shoulder. He cracked his neck, the bones popping loudly. His brutal gaze swept over the aliens scattered across the ground.
Taking a deep breath, he let out a deafening roar.
"Hey. Which one of you trash can tell me... where are the Dragon Balls?"
.....
Kaido stood at the bottom of the massive crater, holding his spiked Hassaikai. The weapon had followed him through decades of war in the New World, and now it had followed him to this bizarre alien planet.
At the edge of the crater stood a dozen aliens in white combat armor. They held their strange Energy Blasters, all muzzles trained on Kaido.
The Namekian elder who had been kicked to the ground was trembling uncontrollably, tightly clutching a green-skinned child in his arms. He had no idea where this horned behemoth had come from.
The purple-skinned captain wore a green Scouter over his left eye. The alarm was still screeching, the red numbers jumping in a frenzy.
Ten thousand. Twenty thousand. Thirty thousand.
The value smashed right through the device's measurement limit.
With a muffled pop, the small instrument smoked and the lens shattered. Glass shards embedded themselves in the captain's left eye. He let out a bloodcurdling scream, clutching his bleeding face.
The crocodile-headed grunt beside him stumbled backward in terror, his blaster shaking violently.
"Captain, what the hell is this monster?! The Scouter actually exploded!"
The captain shook his head violently, enduring the agonizing pain in his eye. He glared fiercely at Kaido with his remaining right eye, inspecting the uninvited guest.
The intruder wore a tattered black uniform with the numbers '007' printed on the chest. His weapon looked like a primitive wooden club, and he wasn't even wearing a proper combat suit.
The captain spat a mouthful of bloody saliva. He suddenly felt his fear was laughable.
"Don't panic! It's just an overgrown, uncivilized native! We are the elites of Lord Frieza's army! Why should we be afraid of a barbarian who's probably never even seen a spaceship?! The Scouter must have broken during the crash!"
The crocodile-headed grunt found that logic sound. How could a native from some backwater planet possess enough battle power to overload a Scouter?
The captain raised his right hand and pointed at Kaido.
"Open fire! Turn him into minced meat! Show these green freaks what happens when they resist us!"
Over a dozen grunts pulled the triggers simultaneously. Blinding purple energy beams erupted from the muzzles, weaving into an airtight net of crossfire that completely sealed off Kaido's escape routes.
Kaido had no intention of dodging. He didn't even bother coating his skin in Armament Haki. He simply stood there, letting the rock-shattering energy blasts slam into his sturdy chest.
Explosions rang out relentlessly. The pungent smell of cordite filled the air as fire and dust completely swallowed Kaido's massive frame. The bottom of the crater turned into a sea of fire.
The captain laughed maniacally, not even caring about the blood trailing from his eye.
"This is what happens when you anger Lord Frieza's army! Not even ashes remain!"
The Namekian elder closed his eyes in despair. He thought their sudden savior had been killed.
But the captain's laughter soon caught in his throat, sounding like a duck being strangled.
Heavy footsteps echoed from the bottom of the pit. A fierce gale swept up out of nowhere, blowing the smoke and dust completely away.
Kaido stood there, completely unscathed. He looked down at his chest—there were only a few flakes of scorched skin. Not a single drop of blood had been drawn.
Raising a thick finger, he casually brushed the black soot from his chest. He parted his jaws, revealing a mouthful of sharp, white teeth.
"You couldn't even scratch my itch. Is that supposed to be an attack, or are you trash trying to give me a massage?"
