When Serena and Maya arrived at the company, they met strange gazes from the interns as well as their colleagues. Although Serena was used to these stares, today felt different.
"They are staring." Maya whispered into her ears. "It feels different." She added while her eyes darted suspiciously.
"Didn't you hear? She was kidnapped and Alexander saved her."
"I heard he used a gun which is against his principles."
"All for her?" Another one muttered.
"It seems he likes her. Next time, we should steer clear of her path"
They thought their voices were low but each statement uttered fell into their ears.
It seemed that yesterday's situation had spread. But how had it spread?
Maya was about to lash out, and berate them but Serena shook her head, indicating that it wasn't worth it.
Maya stomped her feet. "I just want to give them a piece of my mind. Can't they mind their business?" She rolled her eyes.
