Synopsis
1600 years ago, 5 Powerful Beings from the VoltenCrowns race came together and stopped the devastating war mankind has been waging for years. They were called"Executioners", out of fear or out of respect, unknown of the reason, they stopped everything. An agreement formed between the two races, to maintain peace for the future generations to come. They built cities and established civilization in a Pentagon structure. 1600 years later, Ruven Ryder, a VoltenCrown boy from one of the villages is lost in the forest. Hungry and lost for days, Ruven wanders about the forest, hoping to find help or his village, but he instead gets chased by a wild beast instead. Injured, the boy unlocks his ability but faints before he does something. A passing royal guard rescues Ruven and brings him to safety. When Ruven wakes up he finds himself in the Human society, trying to understand it and learning how to use his abilities so that he can finally get home to his parents. As the story unfolds, we see Ruven's adventure as he strives to move forward through betrayals, setbacks and unforeseen circumstances. This is Voltichor.

Chapter 1 - Voltichor Rewritten Chapter-1

"I've always wondered about why human beings form groups. The most advanced species in this world, far superior than most living organism in the world, they all travel in groups, but why is the human the most advanced of all?

Is it because humans take from others? Is it because being in a party with others satisfies their needs? Is it because they're too weak to fight for themselves? I guess I wouldn't know.

In stories of new and old, the villains are alone at the end, but the heroes always have people to care for them, someone to talk to or someone who wouldn't ignore them or act like they don't exist, heroes always get treated well.

What's the difference? Is it because humans paint those who are lonely as villains?

That's not fair though, is it?

That's why if I were to choose between heroes and villains, I would choose to be with villains. Maybe they aren't necessarily evil, maybe they're just people who've never had anyone for them."

Reading this, you might be wondering what this story is about, and no, it's not a ROMCOM, although I wish that it was.

To be honest, I don't know what this story is about as well, so we're stuck in the same boat, kinda.

My name's Ruven Ryder and I'm a VoltenCrown.

To explain what a VoltenCrown is in short terms, it is comparable to how a human who can use magic has mana flowing in their body.

A VoltenCrown's body has the same anatomy as that of humans, but instead of mana, a VoltenCrown has an empty vessel of energy which resembles electricity flowing through their body.

1600 years ago, humans were at war with each other. People were murdered, screams of the innocent could be heard many fields away.

In order to put an end to this genocide, 5 powerful individuals of a certain race came together and one by one took down many if not all of the leaders who participated in the war, not to protect their citizens, but those who hid behind the innocent and used them as a living shield in the war.

These 5 individuals had a crown which resembled electricity to resemble their awakening, hence the name of the race, "VoltenCrown".

Those who send other living people to do their bidding because they're too scared aren't villains.

There's a bit difference between villains and monsters. I'm not saying that I'm a villain or that villains are necessarily good people, I'm just explaining my perspective.

To be honest, things haven't changed much 1600 years later.

April 2nd 1923, the 19th century has begun and we're on the way to the 20th century, yet people still fight over possessions

But this doesn't matter to me. I don't really care of people think of me as a good person or a bad person.

I want to live a normal life.

To explain in a much better way, I want to live for myself.

I still get nightmares of my childhood, the day I lost my parents, the day I almost died. I wouldn't say that I've lost my parents, it's more like I don't know if they're alive or not. But every cloud has a silver lining, I got adopted by wonderful parents and I live amongst humans.

I'm not much of a people's person, so I don't have much friends either.

Well, there was a friend, Adonis Aeneas. He had the same past as me and he was like an older brother to me, but I haven't met him for 7 years. Father says he's been training, so I left it at that.

"Maybe I should just end it all."

A worthless argument, one I've had and lost.

But that's not what I need to do right now.

I opened my eyes, to the sight of ashes and debris of the school building. I think I lost my consciousness. The professor was having a lecture before we heard the sound of an explosion from the left wing of the building.

As I tried to get up, I placed my hand on a shard of glass and I got a small cut on my palm, it wasn't anything major, so I shrugged it off

I went outside and heard the sound of people screaming and crying, but it seemed odd. If there are people crying, why can't I see any?

I stepped outside with caution and approached near a wall that leads to the hallway where the sound was coming from.

Peeking around the wall, I saw five anomalites. Cheeky little bastards they are. Masters of disguise, they can mimic human voices, shape, form down to the last cell and atom. But it's not impossible to identify one.

To identify an anomalite, one has to look at complicated structures like the face and ears. The most common way to identify them is by their off-putting faces and extreme asymmetry of their faces. Not to be confused with ugly people, who've been victims and scapegoats for anomalites.

About those five, if I can kill those, I can get access to this entire building, search for survivors and find out whatever happened while I was counting stars in my dreams.

I didn't have a weapon on me, which is funny because VoltenCrowns are supposed to create their own weapons, yet for some odd reason I can't manifest it. I do have a weapon, but I never expected my school to be raided by some grotesque looking pieces of shit mythological goop of skinwalkers. And who would bring a sword to school, ignoring the fact that I should've

My adoptive VoltenCrown parents taught we enough about hand-to-hand combat, time to use it.

I found a shard of broken metal from a window frame.

This seems sharp enough, it's my weapon for now.

Regulating my voltage, charging up my ThunderBurst and speeding up the blood flow in my body, I dashed forward with my lightning abilities and pierced the shard through their brain-matter before going back to a hiding place. Using this I picked them off one by one. These anomalites can't die without their head getting something smashed it or sliced through. Any other parts they can just regenerate and they don't seem to have hearts.

As I was heading to kill the last anomalite, its head got blown off before I could even do anything, but how?

I felt the presence of strong entity behind me

Reflexively, I turned around with the intention of stabbing that person, but I stopped mid-way as I saw the gun aimed point-blank on my head.

"What do you think you're doing?" the strange-man asked.

"I'm taking a stroll, what's it to you?" I replied

"You haven't changed a bit huh?" He smirked.

"What? Who are you?" I questioned.

"Can't remember your best friend? Aww that's kinda sad." He sighed.

"…"

"?"

"It's me! Adonis! You absolute idiot!" He yelled.

"I don't remember you." I said.

"What do you mean bro, how do you not remember me?" he asked.

"Because you have a GUN pointed at MY HEAD." I yelled.

"Oh shit, you're right, that's my bad."

"Dude. It's been SEVEN YEARS since we've met, and that's all you have to say? And the first thing you do is point a gun at me?? Y'know what, I don't even know you, you're not my friend." I stated.

"I said I'm sorry man, but that aside, what's happening here? Jian was right on the money, he ordered me to come here because he sensed something weird going on. The whole west wing of the building is on fire." He said with a grim expression

"Yeah, I noticed, I passed out whilst it all happened, there was a huge explosion in the west of the building and suddenly I blacked out. When I woke up the place seemed empty, I don't hear any sort of siren outside so I doubt help came, if they did then maybe they didn't find me. In any case, if they didn't find me, there's a chance they must've forgotten other students as well. When I came outside, I saw these creatures, turns out they're anomalites." I said in a serious tone.

"Anomalites? That's weird. I thought they went extinct during The Executioners' era. Something weird is definitely going on. And what were you planning with doing with that little thing?" He said whilst pointing at the iron shrapnel I held.

"Oh this, I can't manifest my weapon yet, so I decided to make-do with whatever I had on hand." I shrugged.

He manifested a sword and lent it to me, "Here, take this, it's better if you have something to defend yourself, it's a bit strange that you can't manifest a weapon yet, but whatever, we'll search for survivors and meet up over here again, let's get out of here as fast as we can before the authorities arrive."

We split up and search the school up and down. No signs of survivors. Looking at the damage done by the explosion I'm shocked that this place is still standing. Strangely enough,

After 23 minutes, we met up again.

"Hey Ruven, I don't know about you but this feels weird. There are no authorities, the building is still on fire and there's no survivor, something's really wrong. Let's just leave, I'm getting the creeps." He said.

"Yeah. I figured you'd say that, scaredy cat." I smirked.

"I'm gonna shoot you."

"Alright that's my bad."

We were just joking.

Boom! We heard the sound of an explosion again, but this time it was much closer. We decided to book it, until we heard something terrifying.

The sound of Human Footsteps.

We figured it was an anomalite, but it didn't seem like it.

Tap, tap, tap, that's the sound we heard. After that, there was an interval of silence before the noises got louder and closer.

And then we saw it, the source of the noise, a lady clad in white.
