Chapter 8 - Chapter 2 — Memory

After Dr. Liam's funeral ended, Peter stood beside Antonson.

Peter patted his shoulder and said, "My condolences."

Antonson looked at Peter and asked, "Peter, you should know where Spider-Man lives, right? Tell me. I'm going to kill him with my own hands."

Peter answered nervously, "I don't know… and why do you want to kill him?"

Antonson shouted angrily, "Because he killed my father! Aren't you my friend?"

Peter nodded. Antonson continued, "Then tell me where he lives. You take pictures of him every day—how could you not know?"

Peter shook his head. "I really don't know."

Antonson stormed off in anger, while Peter watched him leave with guilt in his eyes.

Antonson arrived at the laboratory and picked up the enhancement serum his father had studied for years but never used.

He stabbed the needle into his own body and injected the serum.

After the injection, he fell to his knees and howled in pain.

He endured the agony, slowly stood up, and opened the storage room. Inside were the flight glider and the green suit Dr. Liam had designed.

Meanwhile, Peter received a call from Grace.

Grace said anxiously over the phone, "Peter, come to my bridal shop quickly! Someone is stuck inside the fitting room—hurry!"

Peter replied, "Wait for me. I'll be right there."

The scene shifts—Peter, now in his Spider-Man suit, swung into the bridal shop.

Grace pointed toward a door.

Just as Peter was about to ram it, the door opened. He fell inside and the door slammed shut again.

Grace stared in confusion from outside.

Peter stood up and realized he was surrounded by mirrors.

A voice echoed, "Hello, Spider-Man."

Peter replied, "What do you want, Mirror Woman?"

Olivia said, "I want you dead."

All the mirrors shattered, and countless shards shot toward Peter.

Outside, Grace heard the noise and shouted, "Peter, are you okay?"

Peter barely recovered, his whole body cut by the glass.

The shards gathered into a humanoid form, grabbed Peter's arms, and stretched them out.

Olivia raised a sharp piece of glass toward Peter's heart. "So this is all Spider-Man amounts to."

Just as she was about to stab him, a pumpkin bomb was thrown into her body.

Olivia looked down and screamed, "No!"

Boom!

Peter was blasted out of the room, and Olivia exploded into scattered glass fragments.

Grace rushed to stabilize Peter. "Are you okay?"

At that moment, the Green Goblin flew in on his glider. Seeing Grace supporting Spider-Man, he began to figure things out.

He said, "Peter?"

Peter stood weakly and asked, "Antonson? What happened to you?"

Antonson roared, "You killed my father!"

Peter shouted, "No! It wasn't me! It was Mirror Woman—"

But Antonson didn't let him finish. He rammed Peter with the glider.

Peter clung to the glider, trying to escape, but Antonson smashed him against a wall.

Peter webbed the glider and swung Antonson into another wall.

While Peter was focused, a pumpkin bomb suddenly flew out. He dodged, but the explosion still sent him flying.

Peter sat weakly on the ground. Antonson emerged from the smoke and said, "You will pay for what you've done."

Blades extended from the glider, and Antonson charged toward Peter.

Peter screamed, "No, no, no!"

Right before the blades pierced Peter, a magic dagger suddenly stabbed through Antonson from behind.

Aurora appeared, throwing Antonson aside. "I saved your life. Now give me your memory."

Peter looked at Antonson lying on the ground. "Forget it. Never."

Aurora growled, "You really don't appreciate kindness!"

She lifted Peter and punched him with magic-enhanced force. Peter couldn't fight back.

"Are you giving it to me or not?"

Peter gasped, "Kill me, and you still won't get it."

In the distance, Grace shouted, "Peter!"

Aurora turned toward her. Peter cried, "No!"

Aurora rushed to Grace, grabbed her, and rose into the sky. Grace screamed.

Peter shot webs and chased after them. Aurora released Grace. Just as Peter reached out to grab her, Aurora pulled him into an illusion.

She showed him the frozen outside world. "Time is stopped. The moment I let it flow again, she will fall to her death. Don't even think of resisting—you're not my match."

Peter cried helplessly. "Fine… fine! I'll accept the deal."

Aurora smiled. "Are you sure?"

Peter said, "My wish… I want the whole world to forget everything I've done. Forget I ever existed."

Aurora exclaimed excitedly, "Deal! You have ten seconds to save your lover. After ten seconds, the deal will be complete. Go, Peter Parker."

Peter returned from the illusion. He caught Grace mid-fall and gently landed on the ground.

With tears in his eyes, Peter said, "I love you."

Grace asked, "What happened?"

Suddenly, a bright flash engulfed the world.

On the ground, Antonson's fingers twitched.

Aurora returned to the alley, passed through the wall, and held Peter's memory in her hand.

She showed it to Morquill.

Morquill absorbed it immediately.

Aurora panicked. "What are you doing?"

Morquill casually waved a hand. Aurora's body twisted in pain. Blood streamed from her eyes and mouth before she collapsed.

Morquill looked at the memory. "Not bad. Well done."

Scene shift—John admired the teleporter with excitement.

One year later

Aunt May and Grace were at home playing with Grace's one-year-old child.

Peter wrote in his diary:

"I really have forgotten my own name. All I know is… I'm Spider-Man."

Hearing police sirens downstairs, Peter put on his mask and leaped out the window.
