Chapter 30 - Revenge at High Speed

AY-JAY POV

Finally, it was our turn. "Keifer, let's go!" I said, practically bouncing as I slid into the seat of the roller coaster.

Keifer chuckled at my excitement, shaking his head as he settled in beside me. "You're way too happy about being thrown around at high speed," he teased, pulling the safety bar down.

I shot him a grin. "That's the fun of it!"

Keifer leaned closer, his lips brushing my ear, his voice low and wicked.

"Remember… if you scream, I'll kiss you. I don't care if we're at high speed."

I whipped my head toward him, eyes wide. "You wouldn't."

He smirked, the kind of grin that promised trouble. "Try me."

The coaster climbed higher, the world shrinking beneath us.

My grip tightened on the bar, anticipation twisting into nervous laughter.

The drop came—sharp, sudden, breathtaking.

A scream tore from my throat before I could stop it.

And just like he promised, Keifer turned, catching my lips mid‑rush, the wind whipping around us, the world spinning.

It was reckless, wild, and completely insane.

But God… it was perfect.

By the time we finished the ride, Keifer had probably stolen fifty kisses from me. Fifty.

I know, that's a lot, right? Every drop, every twist, every scream — he found a way to steal one. Sometimes quick and mischievous, sometimes lingering enough to make me forget the ride entirely.

When we finally stumbled off the coaster, my legs were shaky, my hair a mess, and my lips… well, let's just say they'd been thoroughly claimed.

Keifer grinned, smug and unbothered, like he'd just won some secret competition. "See? Told you I'd make this ride unforgettable."

I rolled my eyes, but the blush gave me away. "Unforgettable? More like exhausting. My lips need a break."

He leaned down, whispering against my ear, "Good thing there are more rides. Gives me fifty more chances."

And just like that, I knew the amusement park wasn't about roller coasters anymore.

It was about Keifer turning every moment into his own game — and me, secretly loving every second of it.

"Which ride is next?" Keifer asked, his eyes glinting with mischief as we stepped off the roller coaster.

KEIFER POV

I was asking her which ride she wanted to do next, but before I even got an answer, her eyes lit up at the sight of a cotton candy stand.

She bolted toward it, her excitement spilling over like a kid on her first trip to the fair.

"Jay, stop running, you might fall!" I called out, laughing as I tried to catch up to her.

She didn't slow down.

Not even a glance back.

Then suddenly, someone grabbed her by the hand, yanking her to a stop and putting a knife to her throat.

I looked at the stranger, his grip tight on Jay's throat.

He smirked at me, the kind of smirk that carried history.

"Long time no see, Watson," the guy said, his voice dripping with familiarity.

My stomach twisted.

I glanced at Jay — her eyes wide, her face pale, fear etched across her features. She didn't know him. But I did. Or at least… I thought I did.

"Who the hell are you?" I demanded, my voice low, sharp, every muscle in my body ready to strike.

The stranger tilted his head, grin widening. "Oh, come on. Don't tell me you've forgotten me already."

"Who are you and let her go," I snapped, my voice cutting through the chaos.

"Fine… you really forgot me already?" he said, his tone mocking as his hands moved to his hood.

With a slow, deliberate motion, he pulled it back. Cold eyes. That smirk. "Remember me now?" he asked.

My stomach dropped. Ram.

"What the hell do you want, Ram?" I growled, my fists clenching at my sides.

Jay's breath hitched beside me, her fear sharp and raw.

She didn't know him, but I did.

Ram wasn't just a stranger.

He was a ghost from my past — one I thought I'd buried for good.

Ram's grin widened, his voice dripping with satisfaction.

"I want revenge, Keifer," he said, his tone like venom.

"Ram, this is between you and me. Let my wife go," I snapped, my voice low, dangerous, every word edged with fury.

He turned his gaze to Jay, eyes lingering far too long. "You know, I heard you had a wife… but I didn't expect her to be this pretty." His smirk deepened. "Not just pretty. She's hot."

My blood boiled.

Every muscle in my body screamed to move, to tear him away from her, to end this before it went any further.

Jay's wide eyes flicked to mine, silently pleading, trusting me.

And that trust was gasoline on the fire already burning inside me.

I stepped forward, my voice dropping into a dangerous growl. "Ram, you've made your point. But if you don't let her go right now, you'll regret ever coming back into my life."

He scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Blah, blah… I thought she was just a fling. But looks like you're actually serious about her."

Jay's eyes brimmed with tears, her fear cutting straight through me.

"For the last time, Ram," I warned, my tone sharp as steel. "Let her go."

He smirked, tilting his head. "Fine. I'll let her go… after I get what I want."

My jaw tightened. "And what is it you want?"

His grin widened, venom dripping from every word. "Revenge, Keifer. You took everything from me. Now I want you to know exactly how it feels to lose something that matters."

Without giving me time to react, Ram lunged toward Jay.

He stabbed her with a knief

I froze for half a heartbeat, then fury exploded inside me. "Jay!" I shouted, surging forward, my chest burning with panic.

Ram's smirk twisted into something darker, his eyes locked on mine. "You see, Watson? This is what it feels like to lose."

"I'll make sure to see your end, Ram," I snarled, grabbing his collar and driving my fist into him.

He only laughed, wiping the corner of his mouth. "Sure. But first, make sure your wife survives. It's either you leave me and save her… or kill me and lose her."

His words hit like a blade.

I turned, my chest tightening as my eyes fell on Jay.

Blood stained her waist, her body trembling, her eyes fluttering shut.

Panic surged through me.

I dropped to my knees beside her, my hands shaking as I cupped her face. "Jay… wake up,"

I begged, tapping her cheeks gently, desperate to keep her with me. "Please, don't leave me. Stay with me."

Her lashes flickered, her breath shallow, and in that moment the world narrowed to just us.

Ram's voice was a distant echo, but my focus was unshakable.

I wasn't going to lose her.

Not now.

Not ever.

"Take her to the hospital!" someone shouted. "Yeah, she's losing too much blood," another voice echoed.

I didn't wait.

My body moved before my mind could catch up.

I scooped Jay into my arms, holding her in bridal style, her weight frighteningly light against me.

Her head rested against my chest, her breaths shallow, her shirt stained.

My heart hammered as I carried her to the car, every step feeling like eternity.

I placed her gently in the passenger seat, brushing the hair from her face.

Then I slid into the driver's seat, my hands trembling as they gripped the wheel.

"Hold on, Jay… just a little longer," I whispered, my voice breaking.

And then I drove.

Fast.

Reckless.

Like a man possessed.

Every red light blurred, every horn faded, every thought drowned beneath one desperate prayer:

Please, let her make it.
