Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 : Forced Adaptation: The Law of Heaven

The world shattered.

Not cracked.

Not twisted.

Rewritten.

Kael's vision blurred as reality peeled apart like scorched paper, revealing something foreign beneath. The air lost its cursed density. The night sky melted into an unfamiliar blue. The ground beneath his feet hardened into smooth stone tiles instead of forest soil.

Then the System ignited.

[Detecting New World…]

[Law of Ueki — World-8239C]

[Changing the power fundamental…]

[Overwriting compatibility…]

[Skin to Bone alteration applied.]

Kael's eyes widened.

"…Law of Ueki?"

One of his favorite anime.

A world where powers were granted by God Candidates.

A battlefield of rules and conversions.

So this is where the distortion dragged him.

Another message appeared.

[Bonus Resonance: Heavenly Blood (Temporary) — Acquired]

His veins burned.

A pure, celestial heat surged through his body, flooding into every nerve, every cell. His bones sang — not with cursed energy, but with something divine.

Cold yet warm.

Heavy yet clean.

The interface expanded before him.

Kael clenched his fist.

The sensation was different.

His bone manipulation no longer felt like cursed flesh reinforced by hatred —

it felt refined.

As if the very concept of bone had been upgraded.

The System continued.

[World Rule Applied: Law Conversion System Active.]

[Your existing powers are being adapted to this world's rules.]

Kael exhaled sharply.

"So even my abilities can't escape localization…"

This wasn't just teleportation.

This was forced adaptation.

Someone didn't just pull him into another ring.

They assigned him a new battlefield.

Kael slowly lifted his hand.

White bone rippled beneath his skin, reshaping, sharpening — a faint silver glow tracing its edges like divine etchings.

It felt familiar… yet foreign.

He activated his instinct.

[Bone Manipulation: Skin to Bone]

His flesh hardened.

Skin transformed into polished bone plating, creeping across his forearm, up his shoulder, across his ribs like living armor. But when he tried to extend it further — to form blades, spines, weapons —

Nothing.

The bone refused to leave his body.

"…System. Why?" Kael muttered, staring at his armored hand. "How?"

[Unknown, Host.]

[Based on current data, this world limits external manifestation.]

[Complete the quest to restore full access and receive further clarification.]

Kael frowned.

"Quest? What quest?"

The interface flashed again.

[System Quest Alert]

Kael's eyes narrowed.

"Ueki…?"

So he really had been dragged into Law of Ueki.

Did someone do this to him deliberately?

Was this the MDA?

Another reincarnator?

Or a God Candidate trying to rewrite fate across worlds?

He clicked his tongue.

"Tch…"

But the condition was clear.

If he wanted answers,

if he wanted his true power back,

if he wanted to return to Jujutsu Kaisen—

Kosuke Ueki had to win.

Kael exhaled and looked up at the unfamiliar sky.

First he had to determine when he had arrived.

The Heavenly Tournament…

If he remembered correctly, it happened in two major phases:

The first phase:

100 Candidates → 20 Survivors

The second phase:

Those 20 formed five-man teams and fought until the Heavenly Champion was decided.

The first thing Kael needed to know was simple.

Where in the timeline am I?

Only then could he decide how to move.

From the quest alone, he already understood something crucial —

this world wasn't pure anymore.

There would be others like Rexa.

Intruders. Reincarnators. Distorters.

People who entered not for story, not for balance —

but for power.

To consume.

To steal.

To overwrite fate.

His fingers slipped into his pockets.

A few crumpled bills. Coins. Just enough for food and shelter.

The air was cold now — midnight wind brushing against alley walls, carrying the scent of damp concrete and distant traffic.

"Tch… fine."

He glanced up at the unfamiliar constellations.

"Morning, then."

For now, rest was the only rational choice.

Elsewhere — The Real Flow of Events

Kosuke Ueki's breathing was ragged.

Each inhale scraped his chest like broken glass.

His knees trembled violently.

His clothes hung in tatters, soaked with sweat and dirt, blood tracing slow lines down his jaw.

Across from him… Robert Haydn looked no better.

Both of them had been pushed to the brink.

Both of them were monsters refusing to fall.

They collapsed almost at the same time — two broken titans carved into the battlefield, staring at a ruined sky that offered no mercy.

Silence.

Then hurried footsteps.

Ai rushed forward, eyes wide, tears already spilling.

"Ueki… you won… you won!" she cried, voice cracking as she knelt beside him.

Ueki could barely lift his head.

But Robert's shadow stretched long against the ground.

Slowly — impossibly — he forced himself back to his feet.

Ai froze.

"How… how are you still standing…?" she whispered, horror creeping into her voice.

Robert smirked, blood sliding from the corner of his mouth.

"Should I congratulate you?" he mocked. "After all, you're the first one who's managed to push me this far."

His eyes sharpened, cold and merciless.

"As a reward… I'll bury you right here. Along with your friend."

The air tightened.

Pressure descended like a suffocating hand.

Robert raised his arm.

"The Sacred Weapon Ten… start."

His body began to glow, light swallowing his silhouette as cursed energy surged like a tide ready to drown everything.

BOOM.

A pillar of light crashed down from the heavens, splitting the ground between them.

Wind roared. Dust scattered.

From the blinding radiance stepped a calm figure —

Mr. Kobayashi.

Ueki's sponsor.

Robert's expression twisted with pure disgust.

"You should be in hell," he spat. "Why are you here?"

Kobayashi adjusted his glasses, smiling gently.

"I'm here with a message from God. The first round has ended. All candidates must cease fire until the second round begins."

The battlefield fell into stunned silence.

Robert clicked his tongue, lowering his glowing arm.

"Tch… lucky."

Ueki exhaled weakly.

Not victory.

Not defeat.

Just survival.

Somewhere Else — In the Shadows

Hanon of the Hellions was screaming.

His twisted form thrashed violently as he was overwhelmed by a woman with eyes gleaming with predatory hunger.

"Ahahaha… nice," she laughed, licking her lips. "This time, I'll eat you."

Her jaws widened unnaturally.

Crunch.

Hanon vanished piece by piece, devoured without mercy.

She wiped her mouth with a tissue, smiling with satisfaction.

"Let's win this tournament… the Blank Talent will be mine."

Her gaze lifted toward the sky — toward the battlefield where fate was still being written.

And she waited.

Patiently.

For the plot to move.
