GREY'S POV
I didn't remember running, all I remembered was the sound of Seraphim's body hitting the floor, the sharp gasp that left the crowd, and the way my heart punched through my ribs like it was trying to escape. One second she was standing there in that soft gold dress, struggling to get one sentence out… and the next, her knees bent, and she collapsed.
Everything inside me froze, then the world moved too fast.
"Move, move!" Jayden's voice echoed somewhere behind me, but I didn't hear much else, the hall, the crowd, the cameras, my mother's perfectly obvious disappointment, none of it existed, all I saw was Seraphim's limp body as the nurses lifted her onto the gurney.
