"What exactly do you mean by that?" Sarah asked, eyes wide.
"Exactly what I said - but I'm not sure."
Kirby groaned.
"That doesn't matter. We could be in the Hunger games for all I care - all I want is to go home, eat and sleep. Since you couldn't get any gas for the car, Ray, you might as well push it with us in it."
"That man was one of them - he had the mark on his arm."
"Yes, you've said that before - but he didn't stop you from getting the gas, did he?"
"If you were so brave, Kirb, why didn't you get the gas yourself."
"How was I supposed to know you'd run away instead of getting it? You only told us what happened when you had already driven away."
Ray opened his mouth to argue but closed it back.
"You two should stop attacking each other. It's not doing either of you any good."
Ray looked out the window.
"I'm sorry I wasn't brave enough, guys."
Kirby patted his shoulder.
"You don't have to be brave, you just have to stop pretending to be with us."
