Synopsis
When chance tears through the veil of time, two girls from the modern world find themselves in the heart of the Victorian era—an age where elegance gleams on the surface while the alleyways hide dark secrets. Between rules that show no mercy to outsiders and a society that resists change, their journey begins as they face a fate their hearts did not choose… yet a fate that chose them. Marine, the protagonist of our story, seeks only to find her friend and return to their own world, but she is pulled instead toward her duties as a saint. But— “Lilia… what happened to you?”

Chapter 1 - the game is on again!

🇰🇷 South Korea...

A foreign girl named Marine grew up there; with short black hair, fair skin, and a spirit full of recklessness and enthusiasm. She never stopped pursuing novels as if they were treasures.

In complete contrast... stood her closest friend, Lylia; with short blonde hair and calm, serious features, she was rational to a degree that never resembled Marine's uproar.

Marine was running across the street toward the high school, waving a new book she gripped tightly, as if her heart was beating between its pages. She reached Lylia, panting and beaming a wide smile.

Marine, with explosive excitement: "Lylia! Guess what?!"

Lylia interrupts with a small, sarcastic smile: "Did the boy you like finally reject you?"

Marine's expression twisted for a moment: "Y- yes. But that's not what I wanted to say! I found a new novel! Let's read it instead of attending class!"

Lylia raised a disapproving eyebrow: "Your mother will hang you on the wall if she finds out you skipped again."

Marine didn't care about her comments, waving her hand with affected confidence: "She won't know! Come on, quickly!"

With a light sigh, Lylia succumbed to her friend's tide and followed her toward the old school storeroom.

They sat on the floor, and Marine took the book out of her bag. It had a strange, dark cover, with no title or author's name, as if it was hiding secrets in the depths of its pages.

Lylia, scrutinizing it: "It looks old... nothing indicates its source."

Marine, illuminating the place with a press of a button: "A handsome man gave it to me and told me: 'Read it.' My curiosity wouldn't let me ignore it!"

Lylia crossed her arms with obvious suspicion: "A book from a strange man? That's fishy!"

Marine laughed, hugging the book to her chest: "What's the problem? The important thing is that the story is enjoyable!"

Lilia sighs, but agrees.

Marin and Lilia begin reading a novel.

Summary of the novel: The heroine of the novel, Arianna, is the temple's saintess with silver hair and purple eyes. She is kind and loved by everyone, especially by the main male leads.

The Crown Prince, Kain (A man with blonde hair and red eyes) In the novel, Kain was just a cruel person, but for the saintess, he was like an obedient dog.

The Knight Commander, Byron He naturally hates the temple, but for some reason, he takes a liking to Arianna.

The Duke, A quiet and composed man who fell for the heroine's personality, but ends up killing the people and destroying them because of a curse placed on him by a dark wizard from the neighboring kingdom.

Lilia interrupts Marin's reading. "Hmm, this seems like a cliché novel. Who likes these things? A kind heroine who is loved by everyone? How stupid!"

Marin hums while flipping through the pages. "They said there are four kingdoms, each with a unique saintess. Arianna is one of the four saintesses—the saintess of the mythical beast, Benarot. Her mission is to win the male leads over to her side to secure her position in the kingdom. So, we are only reading Arianna's part. I'm still looking for the part about the other saintesses, but... the pages are blank?"

When Marin places her finger on the blank page, the paper glows with a blinding light. Marin and Lilia close their eyes until they open them again.
