Chapter 5 - In the bottomless pit

Season 2 spoilers!!! (I'll make sure I give a warning before the spoilers)

"Nifty get the fuck of the counter!"

Alastor the radio demon sighed at his toy. Husker and Nifty never seemed to get along well and it honestly gets his nerves. Alastor grumbled a curse before turning to the two annoying sinners.

"Can you two please shut up?"

Husk jumped and muttered a reply, going back to his job at the bar.

"Alastor!"

What was with people today? Why today of all days? Alastor plastered on his fake smile and turned to the source of his personal hell. Charlie Morningstar. Don't get him wrong, the girl was sweet. But she brought up many memories, ones he wished he could forget. Lily's laugh echoed in his head, her smile the only thing he saw when he closed his eyes. It was torture. And seeing Charlie, who acts so much Like his Lily, pains him. Alastor quirked up a brow, waiting for the girl to respond.

"Vox has made me look like a total FOOL!"

Alastor wasn't surprised about this. His smile widened, his hand on his broken staff.

"Well my dear, that IS unfortunate isn't it?"

Alastor really wished people would leave him alone. Especially today. Today he wished he could find a nice pit to crawl into and not come out for 7 years.

"Can you do something about it?"

That came from Vaggie. Alastor internally groaned. This was going to be a long day. Alastor actually quite likes Vaggie, her fiery spirit making her fun to mess with. But Alastor REALLY wasn't in the mood.

"I'm sorry dear Vaggie, but I'm afraid I'm unable to assist you."

Alastor simply walked away. He couldn't deal with this today, couldn't deal with people. He entered his room, making sure to lock the door. Once he was inside he poured himself a glass of Whiskey and lit a cigarette. He looked at the glass, a memory surfacing from the deepest part of his mind.

"Daddy! That stuff isn't good for you!"

Alastor smiled at his daughter, pouring out the glass.

"Well now my dear, I guess I simply won't drink it then."

This seemed to please the small girl, who went back to her drawing.

(Spoilers start) Alastor winced. He hated this. He unbuttoned his shirt and looked at his wound, the make shift stitches doing nothing to hold it together. Alastor looked around the empty room. It reminded him of the swamp he used to live in with Lily. But here is empty. There's no laughter or Lily's giggles. There aren't toys and dresses thrown everywhere. No sign that his daughter ever existed. He glanced at the calendar, his eyes growing glossy when he saw the date circled in red. Today was the day Lily died all those years ago. He took a puff of the cigarette and groaned in pain, both from the memories and his wound. Once he was sure he could show his face and not risk him accidently killing someone, Alastor walked out of his room. As he entered the parlor he noticed Vaggie on the couch Lucifer. Alastor thought about turning away, knowing Rosie wouldn't like that very much.

"Well hello Al."

(End spoilers) Alastor grinned.

"Hello Lu."

Alastor sat down at the couch with a cup of coffee. Alastor used to hate coffee, until Lily convinced him to buy it for her. He only allowed her a cup every so often, but he learned to love the bold flavors. At the reminder of Lily, Alastor flinched slightly. He learned to tone out the endless chatter of the king, but he caught bits of what he was saying. Alastor stood up, not being able to take being here any longer. He said something, though the words were lost on him. All he could hear was Lily's giggle. And that red ribbon in Vaggies hair.... He had to get away. He was going to pay someone a visit. It was time he got out of his deal.
