Elion turned his attention back towards Vivian. "You were trying to capture her alive?"
Vivian's silence and the violent narrowing of her eyes were enough to confirm Elion's suspicion.
Zenovia looked towards her in surprise. "What?"
"I can see the paralysis poison on her weapon," Elion explained. "It is strong enough to put you to sleep, but not enough to kill you."
Vivian's frown deepened.
There should have been no visible trace of the poison, and even high mages would struggle to sense it without touching the blade directly.
"How can you see that?"
Elion ignored the question.
"If you intended to kill her, you would have used something more lethal. Judging by the signals you exchanged before we arrived, you planned to provoke a fight and take her back alive."
Zenovia's eyes narrowed as she looked between the two assassins. "Is that true?" Vivian remained silent for several moments.
