Tristan's POV
Two weeks. It has been two weeks since Trish started avoiding me. She barely even looked at me during the lectures now, it felt like as if I did something wrong and I couldn't find out what that was because I never got a chance to talk to her. Whenever I'd meet her she'd run away, more like flee. I could see her happy and smiling with her friends but what hurt was that that smile was not directed at me she was happy with other people and the only feeling I gave her was the desire to flee.
One afternoon, as I was walking through the hallway I hadn't seen Trish coming towards the direction I was coming from and when I saw her and she saw me she obviously tried to run away but tripped in the process. I rushed to help her up and handed her my hand but at the same time Brian also did. Where did he even come from. She looked at both our hands and for some reason I had little hope that she would take my hand but reality check that would never happen and it never. She took Brian's hand and she got up with his help. I retracted my hand and balled it into a fist leaving angry. I drove to the company at full speed not caring what could happen but I was glad I could reach safely.
At the office, I told Greg to bring me all the files and contracts that needed signing and approving and also arrange for a meeting for the directors and managers to present their proposals to the board at short notice. As my staff presented their proposals, whenever I saw or heard a mistake I'd shout at them and ask them to re-do and give it to me as soon as possible. I noticed the room was filled with cold air but they had to deal with it, if I wasn't in a good mood then no one could be either. I worked overtime till Greg came and asked me to go home. I ignored him but he insisted and asked me what the problem was and I told him that Trish had been ignoring me since I offered her a job and she's hanging out with some dude. I heard him try hard to control his laughter.
"Do you know you sound like some emotional jealous boyfriend who had a fight with his girl." he said. "Never thought I'd see the day this cold CEO falls in love to the extent that when the girl doesn't talk to him he'll vent his anger on us his poor employees." he added. " If you have nothing good to say just leave and shut the door behind you." I told him .
"Sorry, I just want to give you some relationship tips. Girls are complicated creatures, they can change their mood in like 0.0003 seconds for example today she can be happy and will at least say a few words to you then the next day she's angry for no reason and feels like she doesn't want to see your face. But you need to be patient, be the bigger person and learn to manage your girls emotions, especially when it comes to Miss Cruz because she is quite younger than you." he said.
"Nah dude, you got it wrong. She's just three years younger than me, only a three year difference so don't ever say she's quite younger than me." I corrected. "Okay I won't but the point is that you should understand girls feelings maybe tomorrow she won't avoid you or maybe she will but you have to do something about it and you can start but giving her some space. She's been used to seeing you chasing her around but what if you're not." he said. "What are you saying, buddy?" " Let her miss you. Just leave for a while and you'll see her come running." he said and why did I like the sound of that. " Come on, just try it. You've got nothing to lose." he added. "Okay, I'll try it. But you'll manage the Economics teacher." I said. " It's a done deal so can we go now." he said. "You win for now. Just got lucky that I'm tired." I said grabbing my coat and heading out. "And Greg, everyone is still working overtime." I said and moved out.
Greg's POV
For two weeks now boss has been in a sour mood and let it all out on us the poor employees every evening. But today when I saw his car pull over at the front of the building before even 2:00, I surely knew he was in a bad mood an even worse than he had always had. I went to the entrance to greet him but he ignored me and all the other staff making us look fools. I still followed him to his office but before that my coworkers wished me luck because I'm the poor assistant who has to deal with the boss's temper. Luckily he can't fully lash out on me since I'm his friend and advisor. I got him the files plus contracts. When we got to the board room and I saw his facial expression I knew some people would leave here crying. As soon as the first manager finished his proposal, Mr. Delavega harshly pointed out his mistakes and asked him to re-do it and submit it in like 2 days. I noticed that the rest of the managers developed cold feet and didn't want to present anymore. The room was quiet that even the slightest movement couldn't go unnoticed. Mr. Delavega stood up angrily and slammed the files on the table.
" Is this what you people have been doing for the past two weeks, just doing work for the sake of doing it? Is this what I pay you for?" he shouted. "Now everybody listen, starting tomorrow you are all to work over time until I see good results. Your bonuses for this month will be deducted and you should all redo your proposals and make sure they are perfect. Submit them to me as soon as possible and by that I mean two days." he added and walked out of the room and no one could complain, no one dared to.
It was already midnight and everybody had gone home but Mr. Delavega was working over time and I can't leave before he does so I went to his office to ask him to go home but he ignored me. I decided it was about time to end this so I got courage and asked what the problem was and surprisingly he talked to me. I gave him some tips and was able to convince him to go home. I drove him home and also retired to my place.
