Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Fuyumi's eyes widened in recognition the moment she saw him.

"Y-You're the one who saved me…" she said softly.

Izuku blinked. "You're the one I saved…"

Both of them spoke at the exact same time, making the silence heavier.

"Saved?" Shoto asked, confused.

"That time… with the sludge villain," Fuyumi explained gently.

Shoto turned his gaze toward Izuku. "…He's the one who saved you?"

"Yeah," she nodded.

Fuyumi scratched the back of her neck, awkward. "Ah… sorry. Please, come inside."

Fuyumi stepped aside politely, and both boys walked into the living room.

Izuku sat on the couch, hands on his knees, back completely straight.

The Todoroki house was bigger than he imagined—clean, quiet… and kind of intimidating.

This is… surprising. I really don't know much about side characters from the anime. But to think the girl I saved back then would be Shoto's sister… What kind of small world is this?

Silence hung awkwardly in the air.

Shoto spoke first. "Still… that's a surprise. I never expected the person who saved my sister was you. Thank you… for helping her."

"It's fine," Izuku said, waving his hands. "When I saw her back then, my body just moved on its own…"

Ugh—why did that sound so cringe?!

Fuyumi, hidden behind the door, covered her lips to prevent her breath from giving her away.

He helped me… even though he was quirkless at the time… Such a kind boy… How am I having such indecent thoughts about a guy younger than me?! Get a grip, Fuyumi!!

Despite her internal screaming, she kept listening.

Shoto continued calmly, "I'm surprised too. I heard you only awakened your quirk recently. So back then, you were still a normal person."

Izuku blinked. "Whoa. You actually know that much about me?"

Shoto nodded. "I heard it from that friend of yours… the one from earlier. The loud one."

"…Kacchan?" Izuku asked.

"Yeah. He was beating another guy up for calling you an asshole. He kept yelling stuff like—" Shoto paused to recall,

"'He's better than you extras! Even when he didn't have a quirk, he still had the heart of a hero!'"

Izuku froze.

"K-Kacchan said that…?"

Behind the door, Fuyumi's ears twitched.

Kacchan..? Is that… a girl?

Shoto nodded. "I thought he was talking nonsense. But after meeting you… it makes sense. You're really like a hero."

Izuku's ears went red instantly.

Nana whistled from his mindspace. "Oooh~ are you blushing? How cute."

"Shut up," Izuku whispered internally.

The door suddenly slid open and Fuyumi walked in, holding a tray of freshly made soba.

Shoto sat up. "Nee-san."

Fuyumi smiled warmly. "Shoto never brings friends home. I'm glad he did today. And even better… you're my savior. Umm…"

Izuku stood and bowed. "Ah—Izuku Midoriya. Pleased to meet you!"

"I'm Fuyumi Todoroki. You can just call me Fuyumi," she said with a soft smile.

Izuku nearly fainted at how polite she was.

Fuyumi turned to Izuku again, slightly fidgeting. "Since you're Shoto's first friend, Izuku-kun… could you update me on how he's doing from time to time? He never says anything to me…"

"Fuyumi Nee, you don't have to—" Shoto started.

Did I sound too desperate?! she panicked internally.

Izuku nodded. "I'll tell you! Here's my Contact ."

" You really don't have too.. Izuku " Shoto Said

But Fuyumi grabbed the phone so fast it almost jumped from his hands.

YES! FINALLY A BOY'S NUMBER THAT ISN'T FROM MY FAMILY!!

Izuku just smiled politely, completely oblivious.

What a caring sister… My own sister was never like this. I wonder how she's doing… he thought of his past life for a moment.

"The soba's ready. Eat as much as you want, Izuku-kun. You too, Shoto."

Both boys said in unison, "Thank you for the meal!"

Later, outside the house…

"I had a great time today… Shoto, Fuyumi-san. And the soba was amazing." Izuku flashed a bright smile.

Fuyumi's face turned scarlet as her nose twitched with blood dripping although slightly..

Now that I see him up close… his face is cute too… and that smile—damn…

She covered her nose just in time as a tiny drop of blood threatened to fall.

"T-Take care, Izuku-kun…" she said softly.

After Izuku walked away—

"Well well," Nana teased. "Looks like you're quite the lady killer, huh?"

"Huh? What are you even talking about?"

"Nothing at all," she said, absolutely lying.

"Yeah yeah, Grandma Nana."

"I am NOT a grandma!" she yelled, punching his head—though it passed right through him.

---

Izuku reached home quietly.

"Mom's sleeping…" he whispered.

His eyes landed on the family photo.

Hisashi Midoriya… my dad in this life. I still remember the day I tried to ask Mom about him…

He exhaled slowly as memories resurfaced.

Flashback — Izuku, age 6

Alright… I know the characters. The plot. The villains. Everything important. But the fandom's biggest mystery remains: my father, Hisashi Midoriya. Two years in this world and no sign of him. He never even appears in the anime. Today, I'll ask Mom.

"Mom? Can I ask you something?"

Inko knelt down, smiling. "What is it, Izuku?"

"It's… about Dad."

Inko froze.

"Your dad… he's working overseas," she said with an oddly stiff voice.

"Not that, Mom."

"He has a fire quirk…"

"Mom?"

"He always sends us money…"

"Mom…?" Izuku stepped closer.

Suddenly, her eyes turned empty—like a puppet.

"He's overseas… for work…"

Izuku shook her shoulders. "Mom! Mom! Snap out of it!"

Inko collapsed unconscious.

Izuku stared at her, horrified.

This world… it's like it has a will of its own. Anything not explained in the manga or anime… gets overwritten. Forcefully.

He clenched his fists.

Better not mess with it. I don't want butterfly effects.

Back to present

Nana hummed. "Looks like your dad's genes didn't even try, huh?"

"Maybe," Izuku sighed.

At least he isn't All For One like those stupid fan theories. He looked short… black hair… black eyes… nothing like that monster.

"What are you thinking so seriously about?" Nana asked.

Izuku looked at his hands.

"…The power I used against Shoto."

" Really ?" Nana asked.

And the scene ends there.
