Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

It's been a while since I fought Kacchan.

He got pretty angry with me and challenged me to a rematch—which he barely won by a hair.

Yeah, I'm not joking. He's just that good.

Even when I secretly used Float here and there, without him noticing, he still got me before I could react.

His growth rate… it's way higher than in the anime.

Maybe because he sees me as a wall he has to overcome.

But even though it's good to have as many dependable fighters around me as possible…

my goal is to stop Kacchan from getting kidnapped.

Because that would eventually lead to All Might's downfall… which would result in the destruction of trust in heroes…

and eventually the downfall of Japan.

Right now, I can use 45% like canon, but way earlier—and without breaking anything.

With support items, I can barely reach 65%, which is more than canon Izuku…

But I can't take any chances.

I'll keep improving.

I can use Float and Danger Sense freely now.

Nana-san is pretty happy that I unlocked her quirk first, proudly calling me her self-proclaimed pupil.

Need to keep Kacchan safe before he gets kidnapped by villains…

And before that… there's also Stain… and choosing my hero agency.

Canon Izuku got picked by Endeavor for internship and Nighteye for hero case study… Should I pick the same?

As time passed, I got a huge number of internship offers—more than Kacchan and Shoto.

Maybe because people think I have potential.

Since the world is already different from canon anyway, I've decided to go with Mirko—Rabbit Hero Agency for my Hero Case Study.

Not for any ulterior motive or anything…

I just want to study hero work there.

"You really chose her? Why choose her when you have me as your teacher?"

Nana asked as we were searching for the Mirko Agency.

"I just want to study how heroes work, Nana-san."

"Your face says otherwise… Don't try anything with her. Your cute and not so handsome face isn't going to save you."

"You mean to say I might charm her into falling for me?"

"Izuku-kun… I know you're interested in women, but at your age you should focus on becoming a better hero, Instead of focusing on perverted things"

"I know. I just want to do proper hero work under a pro."

"You definitely aren't listening… And don't come crying to me with broken bones after making moves on her."

As I reached Mirko's office… the building looked looked quite shabby.

"This is Mirko's office? She's ranked number 5… I expected more…"

"You didn't even check how long the place has been open—it's only a few days old," Nana said.

"Eh?"

"What kind of pervert are you? Walking into a woman's office without thinking anything? I'm a lot prettier than her."

"Yeah, I think so too. Why should I chase others when I have you, Nana-san?"

"—This brat… my heart fluttered for a moment…"

"….You brat, really now?"

"I'm serious, Nana-san. Please teach me."

I bowed down.

People around us stared.

"Oii, everyone is watching… If you really insist—"

"I'm joking, Nana-san."

"You bastard!"

She tried to punch me, but her hand went through.

"I'm serious about the teaching part though… Since you already made me your self-proclaimed student, you gotta teach me a thing or two about heroism."

"You got it," she said, settling on my shoulder.

…Ah, I shouldn't be thinking like this. I'm just a ghost of the past, clinging to this world through One For All. I shouldn't interfere too much with Izuku-kun's life…

Nana thought.

Inside the Mirko Agency

"It looks even more shabby inside…"

I thought.

She's even more beautiful than on TV… or the anime…

I thought as she sat in a suit doing paperwork.

"Ah, fuck this shit!"

She slammed the desk and tore the papers.

…That explains a lot, I thought.

"How did she even start the agency…" Nana muttered.

"Maybe this is a butterfly effect… from me altering the world," I thought.

"Ah, who are you, kid?" Mirko asked.

"Ah, I'm Izuku Midoriya from U.A. First Year. I'm here for hero case study, Mirko-san. I don't have any ulterior motives."

"If you say it like that, she's definitely going to think otherwise," Nana whispered.

"You're the U.A. kid who applied for casestudy, huh…" Mirko said.

"Sorry kid, look somewhere else."

"Eh? Why?"

"Because I'm shutting it down."

"Mirko-san…?"

"This shit ain't for me. I'm better off as a freelancer."

"…Looks like you're screwed, huh," Nana said.

"Yeah… today is the last day to register… but I can't just leave her like this."

"Mirko-san, you can't quit. Even as a freelancer, you've saved so many people. But with an agency, you can save even more—more efficiently."

"You can get support, intel, help from staff. You might even go higher in ranking."

"And you can earn more money too," I said bluntly.

"People overlook this, but money is a huge part of hero work. Support items, suits—all expensive. Even this building must've cost a lot."

"You can't let it go to waste."

Mirko stared.

"Kid… are you really a highschooler?"

"I get that a lot."

"I can help you manage the agency. Here's my contact. If you change your mind, please call me."

"…Why are you doing this for me?"

"Because I like heroes—(you)—and I don't want Rabbit Hero Mirko to waste her potential."

"How old are you?"

"Sixteen next month."

"…Okay. I'll tell you if I change my mind."

"Ah, Mirko-san, please sign these—"

"Are you a fan?"

"What boy wouldn't like Mirko-san?"

"Oh? Seriously… what a troublesome fan…" she muttered as she signed.

"Oh, you're good, kid. Guess you don't need my teachings," Nana said proudly.

"Okay, Mirko-san, thanks. Today's the last registration day so I gotta go!"

Izuku sprinted off.

"So fast… and he's not even using a quirk… What kind of quirk does he have?" Mirko wondered.

That kid… flirting with me without fear… And he's cute. Does he like me? Fans can be overbearing… If he were 10 years older I might've eaten him up here… Rumi, get a hold of yourself… He's just a kid… with a bunny kink…your a hero.. if he keeps acting like that I won't be able to control myself…

Outside — Looking for a Hero Agency

"Got any ideas, Nana-san?" I asked while running.

"Ah… go to Sorahiko. He has an agency."

"The distance is too long unless I use OFA."

"Hmm… How about the No. 2 Hero? He seems heroic."

"Great idea! I'll call Shoto."

But Shoto didn't answer.

"What's he doing at a crucial moment like this? I'll call Fuyumi-san."

Then I saw Fuyumi accross the street, she was being harassed by a couple of guys.

Shit, no time…

Idea.

"Ah, Izuku-kun!"

Fuyumi immediately rushed to me.

"Who's this brat?" one guy said.

"He's my boyfriend. Now leave," Fuyumi said.

"…Really? A kid?"

"Leave my girlfriend," I said calmly.

One guy stood face to face with me. I was ready to throw hands..

Then—

"Ah—All Might!" I said..

They all instinctively looked back.

Using the distraction, I grabbed Fuyumi bridal-style and jumped to another building with OFA.

Hope nobody saw that… quirk use in public is illegal…

"Ah, thanks Izuku-kun… this is the second time you saved me."

"Don't mention it, Fuyumi-san. I was trying to call you actually."

"Oh? What for?"

"I have a request, Fuyumi-san."

Eh? A request? My heart isn't ready—what if he asks for lewd things—

Fuyumi's mind spiraled.

"Can you tell me the address of Endeavor Agency?"

"…Oh."

Her mood dropped.

Why do I feel like she was disappointed…?

"It's near here. Hard to explain though. Can you… pick me up again? Using your quirk?" she asked softly while leanitowards me.

I hope no one is watching…

"…Okay. Fuyumi-san, please lead the way."

They traveled from rooftop to rooftop until they reached Endeavor Agency.

Will they even let me in? I'm wearing an All Might t-shirt…

"Come, Izuku-kun. I'll take you to my father. You're here for hero study, right? He may be a shitty father, but he's a great hero."

Employees greeted her as "Young Lady."

She's more brutal than Shoto… but with what they've been through, it makes sense…

Meeting Endeavor

"Fuyumi? Why are you here? You said you're not interested in heroes…"

"I'm not. He's Shoto's friend. He's here for hero case study."

Endeavor turned toward me.

"You're All Might's son. Izuku Midoriya."

Fuyumi glanced at me.

"I told you I'm NOT All Might's son!"

"Oh yeah? Wearing an All Might shirt? Did All Might tell you to say that?"

"Here—my dad, my mom, my childhood photo! Do I look like All Might?! You can even run a DNA test!"

"…Alright. I'll believe you for now."

"Fuyumi-san, just to be clear—I am NOT All Might's son."

"I believe you, Izuku-kun."

Endeavor eyed both of us before speaking.

"You're here for case study, right? Suit yourself. I'm not as soft as All Might. Also—you're interning here. Got it?"

"Eh?!"

"I've had my eye on you and the loud boy since the sports festival. You think I'm that easy? You want me as your case study? Then you're my intern. Fair enough?"

…He reminds me of my manager. That bastard… worked me to the bone… though it helped me.

"Okay. I agree, Endeavor-san," I said, smiling stiffly.

But there was tension between us.
