Days flew by and it was already Sunday, the day the girls join college. Katey went over to Kenzie's place early in the morning after packing her stuff and saying goodbye to her parents cuz they agreed Kenzie's mom was driving them. She rang the bell and Kenzie opened the door and Katey couldn't believe what she was looking at. She scanned Kenzie from head to toe trying to see if maybe she was a different person. Kenzie was wearing a maroon knee length fitting dress showing her curves that Katey didn't even know existed. She was wearing black block heels and had even done her nails and hair, there was literally no sign of the tomboy Kenzie, it's like she never even existed.
"Where's Kenzie and what have you done with her?" Katie asked. "Kenzie is long dead the girl in front of you is Riya. I'm a changed woman, one ready for college." Kenzie said. "Okay so is this some sort of prank cuz it's not funny?!" Katey said. "It isn't. I've just grown up and have fully accepted that I'm a girl." Kenzie said.
" O--kay that's something I never thought I'd hear from you." Katey said as she entered the living room. "Honestly, it was my mom who did all of this. She sent me away for a day and when I got back she had thrown out all my clothes and replaced them with--I don't know-- girl cloths. Then she dragged me to the salon to get my nails and hair done and told me that if I change my looks and buy boys clothes she'll cut off all my credit cards and allowances. She says Stanford is a classy school and if I went how I was, I wouldn't fit in so she had me go through a makeover and honestly it's not that bad, I knew at one point I'd have to go out of that phase so I've accepted this and I hope you'll accept it too." Kenzie gave a speech.
" Oh, Kenzie you have no idea how long I've waited for you to say those words. I'm so happy." Katey said. "Hey, it's Riya now." Kenzie said. "O-kay Riya. Where's your mom?" Katey asked.
"She's still packing my things. Oh forgot to tell you she said that we should both have boyfriends by next semester or we'll be working to earn money for tuition ourselves." Riya said.
"What! My parents didn't tell me that." Katie said then right then she received a text from her mom saying the exact same thing. "You've got to be kidding me." Katie said. "See." " But I guess I can do that but I don't know about you though." Katie said. "I'll find a way." Riya said and they continued talking. Time flew by and it was time for them to leave. "Oh baby, I'm going to miss you so much." Riya's Dad said hugging her. "And you too Katie." he pulled her in to join the hug. " We'll miss you too." they said in unison. "Make sure to take care of yourselves." " We will."
"Okay ladies, we got to go Riya's mom said as they were done loading the car. "Believe it or not Brody, I'll kind of miss you." Riya said. "Well I know I won't but do you know who I'm going to miss...?Katie." he said and approached her and he didn't even know where he got the courage but he hugged her. She was at first surprised but still responded.
" Of course you will." Riya said rolling her eyes and entering the car. "Take care of yourself." Brody said to Katie. " I will, you too And even if you don't say it I'll look after your sister for you." " Okay you--" Brody was still saying but Riya got out and pulled Katie into the car. "Rude!" Brody said but Riya looked at him and started making faces through the window. " Here we go." Riya's Mom started the car and they set off.
It was a 4 hour drive so they reached like in the afternoon and Katie kept screeching about how excited she was entering the gates of Stanford.
" Hey chill, it's just a dumb college." Riya said. "To you it is but to me it has always been my dream." Katie said as they were picking their stuff from the boot. When they were done Riya said. "Mom, we can take it from here." "No sweetie! I'm not leaving until I see your room and roommates." she said "That's sweet of you auntie. Riya, why you chasing your mom away?" Katie said but Riya ignored her and went ahead with her suitcases.
" I love what you've done with her,aunt. She looks amazing." Katie said. "I know, right?! I wish I could also do something about her attitude though." " Don't worry, aunt. I'll take care of that." Katie said. They went ahead and went to their allocated rooms but they were the only ones there, the rest hadn't arrived yet. "Okay Mom, this is as far as you go. You've seen our room and there are no roommates." Riya said pushing her out. "Okay but don't forget to call me when you got a problem. No sex and absolutely no alcohol or drugs." she said. "Yeah Mom, we know." " Katie dear, make sure she means that." " I will aunt." "Okay bye girls." "Bye Mom." "Bye aunt."" they said in unison and closed the door.
" Glad she's gone." Riya turned to say but Katie was nowhere to be seen. "Katie.Katie."she called her. "In here." Katie replied from one of the rooms. " You witch!You went to pick the better bed, didn't you?" Riya said entering the room. " Sure I did. This is the best bed in the house." she replied smuggly.
"Of course it is. Oh by the way, I think I saw the tire of the suitcase that had your beauty products come off so I guess your case must be down by now." Riya said. "You've got to be kidding me." Katie immediately jumped off the bed to go check on it. She went and checked it thoroughly but it was fine then she realized what Riya had just done." "Shoot" she went back to the room and surely she found Riya on her bed all covered up. "Riya, you witch, you tricked me." she said. " I sure did but what you gonna do about it.?" Riya smuggly said. "You--" Katie charged at her and pulled the cover away and she couldn't believe it, Riya was butt naked.
" Yeah, it is exactly what you're thinking. I rolled all over the bed with my clothes off and my cuddies are everywhere, there is no place I haven't touched." Riya said feeling proud about it. " You- "Katie was more than enraged. She got a pillow and started hitting her but to Riya it was worth it cuz she at least got the best bed. The punishment somehow turned into a pillow fight and they were having fun that they didn't notice when the door was pushed open. Two girls entered and were shocked by the sight before them. Two girls were having a pillow fight and feathers were everywhere and one was even butt naked. I know about bad first encounters but this one wasn't just bad but weird, awkward and embarrassing.
The blonde one cleared her throat to alert them and it did. They turned at the two girls and stared then Riya looked down and realized she was still naked.
" Shoot!" Riya cursed and pulled the blanket over her. "Hi." Katie waved at them and shut the door, leaving the girls in the living room and them in their room. " Shoot! Shoot! Katie they must be thinking I'm some sort of freak. This is definitely not how I wanted to meet our roommates." Riya said as as she was getting dressed. " I don't think it was that bad." "Yeah, that's because you're not the one butt naked." "But when you think about it, it's hilar--" Katie was still saying but Riya shot her a death glare. "No?! is it too soon?" she received another glare. " Okay I won't for now but you have to admit one day we'll look back and laugh." she said. "Maybe you will but I won't so stop mentioning it. It's gone, dead and buried." Riya said fully dressed now.
" If you say so." Katie said then they went out. " Sorry about earlier that was rude of me and I didn't mean for our first meeting to be like that." Riya apologized. "It's okay,I didn't even see anything. Clara did you see anything?" the blonde one said." "No I didn't see anything." Clara said.
"Okay. I'll be glad if this incident was forgotten." Riya said. "Done." " Done." " Long done." they all agreed. "Good! Okay now let's start a fresh. I'm Riya." Riya introduced herself. "And I'm Katie, Riya's best friend." Katie said. "Oh, that's nice. I'm Clara" " And I'm Stacy."
"So Riya and I will sleep in that room and you guys can take the other one." Katie said. "Cool, so I guess we should settle in." " Yeah." they agreed and they all took their respective luggage to their rooms.
