'I'm sorry.' Aiva said as she approached Mr. Thomas while he quickly wipe off his tears and turn to look at her, faking a smile.
'It's not your fault.' He replied.
'But…I … I was the one who replaced you. If he hadn't promote me, you wouldn't be fired…'
'I understand his spite. You being here is his way of getting revenge for pouring him coffee. And also, he gave me the sack letter before I teach you what you needed to know, mainly because he want me to hate you. If I do, perhaps you won't be able to complete everything in two days and he would punish you for it. He is using my feelings as a dagger to strike you.' He said with a sad smile, lowering his head, to avoid Aiva's guilty glare. He had been with Neptune for years, when he is still the CEO of the KWINS branch company that is in the U.S. Before he move down to take over the main company just few weeks ago. To be casually removed from the post he had been holding for a long period of time hurt his pride. And to be fired by him, without offence, despite all their years together pricked his heart. What exactly is in the head of that freaking bastard?
He didn't even blink twice before firing him. He didn't give him notice before, just before he want to punish someone, he is a pathetic calculating bastard.
Aiva's eyes brimmed as she glared at him. For him to figure this out, he must have been with him for quite a long time. But that dumbass still had the gut of firing him without offence. He is more inhuman, arrogant and stupid. 2x more curses for you.
'We have limited time, just 2 days to study lots of things, let's get at it.' He suddenly change the topic and walk into the secretary' office while Aiva followed suit.
*2 days later*
'Goodbye.' Aiva said and waved at Thomas with a wide smile plastered on her face so as to hide the guilt beneath it.
Thomas smiled back at her and waved. They had just spend 2 days together but he kinda feel attached to her. They had a short time to perform a huge task, it is for sure stuffy but they still have limited time to play that he couldn't help but accept the fact that he grew fond of her. Her laughter sounds like music to his ears, her jokes whenever they are having lunch, dozing off when working overtime, when it's just the two of them and he had to drop her off at her house late at night. Er company was so damn warm and cosy that he wanted to stay by her side forever, as companions, as partners, but fate was far against them. He had no choice but to leave.
'I would miss you.' He said genuinely, from the deepest pit in his heart. 'I would miss your company too. I'm sorry, I wad the cause of your…'
'You are not, so please don't blame yourself. This is just fate and I know that God has done the best for me. I also felt grateful that I meet someone as amazing as you. I don't regret getting fired.' He said sincerely while Aiva's head bowed, hiding her eyes that is now blurry with tears.
'I'm still sorry.' She mumbled to herself, the tears falling from her eyes before she could stop it. Thomas walked forward and pulled her into his embrace.
'It's okay.' He consoled. Though something deep within him seems to sparkle. Somehow, he want them to be like this for a long time.
**CEO's Office**
Neptune released his tie a bit and cleared his throat, suddenly feeling heat. He glared at the working AC before turning back to look at the world below his feet. He was just casually enjoying the nice view when his eyes caught the side of those two, in each other's arms which send a wave of something he can't decipher down his body.
How can she be hugging a man? They just met two days ago… as enemies for Christ sake! How can she allow him to hug her, is that how cheap she is?
He felt uncomfortable seeing her smile at another man but… he is so sure, one hundred percent sure that…. He is not jealous. He can't be jealous. No! who is she? Why would he be jealous to see her hugging a man? It is just that she is happy, smiling shamelessly at a man while he doesn't want that. After messing up with him that he end up spending a whole of two days washing off that offensive thing off his body. He spent thousands of dollars on body and air spray before his nose finally have peace. She can't just be happy now like that. He would make her life hell and make her feel worse. She must regret her actions.

Noticing the weird fire burning within him, he turn back and walk to his seat. He is fighting himself in the inside, and he doesn't want that, not because of that girl. So what if she is pretty, there are also other pretty girls out there, lots of them.
